Thank you for a really nice no-nonsense whirl around your SeaFox 228 ... It's definitely got everything that opens and shuts, and they're clearly thinking about the fisherman AND his wife AND their friends with this one! I love it ... and I don't think there's much else to think about after seeing it up close - I'd call that a "done deal" as it's perfect for Australian Coastal lifestyle! Cheers from Queensland, Australia 🦘🦘🦘
G’day ! 😉 thanks I’m glad you liked the video and found it helpful! I still like the boat and I’m happy with my purchase! I’m hoping to put my auto trim tab controller on here soon and I’m sure that will make life much easier driving the boat.. don’t know why they didn’t install better trim tab controls from the factory.? But it’s not too big a deal at all.. thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated! Take care from Americas version of Australia.. And that’s Florida! 🤣
Thanks we have alot more stuff on the way.. unfortunately life and weather have been getting n the way lately.. thanks for watching the channel and commenting.. I really appreciate it!
Thanks I appreciate it has been a great boat so far! Looking forward to all the places we will take it and fish we will catch! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Lol! We love it here! Just put on pants for the first time since February! And it was only in the 60’s .. your body adjusts to the climate.. now 60’s and 50’s is cold!
dude its expensive here and its really not what you think it is STOP coming to Florida its becoming too hard to live due to out-of-state money influence on the market,
Man im really contemplating getting this thing, was gonna get a yamaha but i kinda thought twice about it being a jet and i kinda realized it wasnt exactly made for the ocean in mind, then i was reccomended this thing, man my family, would have so much fun in smthing like this
Awesome boat, like the lighting, cellphone charger, bait tank well really just the whole boat. 😆 Glad you were able to get your new boat. I think you should make a art of throwing a cast net video, bloopers included!
Lol! I’m getting a lot better at the net. just slow on the reloading. Yeah overall I like the boat so far! Thanks for watching and commenting man I appreciate it!
Great Boats. I was very close to purchasing one of these. I ended up with a Tidewater 220 Adventure. The wider beam and spacious deck is what pushed me into that decision. I only have about 200hrs on it now but has been a fantastic boat. Can’t wait for winter to be over and get back out there on the water. Great boat though man, enjoy!
Thanks I appreciate it! I like it so far ! I’m going to be putting my auto trim tab controller on next week . I hope it will help with the boat wanting to ride more level.. my only major complaint driving the boat is it wants to lean side to side and I have to constantly adjust the trim tabs at times.. I bought a 17’ skiff for the inshore stuff until the ocean lays down a bit towards summer! I did get offshore on a 31”sea vee last week and got my first sailfish! That was awesome!! And I’m working on that video now.. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it! Tight lines!
@@ReelLifeFisherman That leaning would drive me crazy. I’ve only owned two boats. One was a 1987 V20 step. What an amazing 20 foot boat that was. I think it cut through chop much better than the Tidewater. Hopefully them auto trims get you right. Have you contacted seafox? Perhaps there is an issue? Hope it all works out brother.
I have the same boat. I bought a cooler slider. The cooler fits perfectly and will slide under the seat to give you more room in the back area. Buy a bait table you will love it. Mine sits next to the bait well. I also got my seafox from black label
That’s awesome I’ll check out a slider for the cooler.. what size cooler fits on it? I have a bait board that I put in one of the rear transom rod holders . It works out well for fishing. I’ve also added a manual downrigger! I’m hopefully going to be installing my auto level trim tab controller here soon! But love the boat so far ! And black label was great! No complaints at all.. thanks for watching the video and commenting! I appreciate it!
@@ReelLifeFisherman I can’t send you a picture here but it’s the same size you have. Mine is a yeti but most coolers fit. I purchased at boat outfitters check them out. Best idea for the boat.
Man that’s a better walkup that most boats shows I been seeing. I got my eyes in one those from a private seller down in Miami, just 48h the guy really built it as fishing killer and is selling with all the gear also, you maybe put the final sell push here !!
Thanks! I’m glad you liked the video! It’s a great boat loaded with a lot of standard features! Great fun with the whole family! Fishing and hanging out at the sandbar! It does it all ! Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it!
Great video.. I have the same boat..2022 model. Dry boat for sure. Bought mine just last week with only 48 hours on it.. I do have some thoughts on it.. Love the boat but with just a single Yamaha 200..way under powered. Top speed with the right prop is 44 mph.. Needs a 300. Storage.. There is not much storage , Mine has a fresh water bladder in the forward deck under the table. Needs a composite 25 gal fresh water tank inside the console . Needs at least 2 more gunnel rod holders just past the console on both sides. The rtic is great but need to whack out the foot rest bar and slide it forward on a track mount. The capt seat/leaning post needs to be shortened about 3 inches so you don't get nutted by the suicided knob on the steering wheel when getting down. Needs at least another 20 to 25 gal fuel tank. And did I say storage? Right now I have mine loaded for tomorrows Tarpon run on the West Coast here in Fl. One real downfall is the SurFlow live pump. With only 48 hrs on the boat.. the pump shorted out.. Good thing is West Marine had a replacement 800/1000 head so this morning I put some quick release connections on the new one and bought a spare just because the SurFlow brand has a bad rep ... Took it out a few times.. Got into some 3 ft chop near Tampa Bay.. Love the flares.. Did not get any spray. Of course the boat only being 22 ft it had a couple hard knocks but all in all.. not bad. Think it is a keeper for awhile
Now for an update on my post above... I have added a 10" setback Atlas Jackplate.. Got a good deal on it.. Since the Yamaha F200 was a dog.. I put a SHO 200 on the boat and sold the other one.. Why take a 200 off an put a 200 on one may ask? The SHO 200...225...and the 250 are the same exact motor.. every nut..every bolt....and the 200 is way cheaper than the 250 .. only difference between the 3 is the badging and the tune. I had a Nizpro rep out of Tampa come to my house and put the tune on it. Now it has 332 hp and can top out at 58 mph. I pull the throttle back an cruise at 40 and get 2.7 mpg. The F200 4 banger maxed out at 44 was only getting 2.1 -1.7 mpg depending on load. I installed a Raymarine Autopilot. What a blessing when going offshore and not having to constantly adjust your course. It does have a few hickups like it wont link to the Garmin to good.. Still working out the Nmea and Seatalk on that one.. I have installed a 36V Rhodan 84 and it holds in the fastest current that Tampa has to offer so far.. Offshore ..no anchor.. Sweet... I do come in sometimes after dark so installed is the SIONYX Nightwave. It's the best thing to see clearly in the dark after a long day. Don't even bring out the spotlight. I found a deal on a a composite 25 gal fresh water tank and put it inside the console under where the bow table pole is. Was easy to plum it up. Added 2 gunnel rod holders by the bow drink holders. Got just a tad smaller cooler for under the leaning post/seats. Can push it up in the hole to have better passage on the stern but still cant really walk back there if you have rods in the rocket launchers. Think the last thing I will update is an amp and sub to the stereo.. Oh..and the factory horn is a weak turd..
That’s a beautiful boat. Enjoy, be safe, catch a lot of fish 🎣. Also I extremely appreciate all the tutorial videos, I have worked on my boat engine and it made life extremely easy by watching your videos 👍😁✊🍺🍺🇺🇸
Nice boat. My tracker you always worked on is still like new. This whole drought thing makes the fishing kinda tough. Glad you both are doing good and surviving the bugs & hurricanes. Good job bud!
I know I saw that when I was watching your videos before we moved out here to Florida! I subscribed to your channel. I was looking at a lot of boats but for us this just seemed to be the best fit in our price range. You still liking yours ?
@Reel Life Fisherman love mine. If I had to change anything it would be to move up to the 248. Same boat but it puts an additional 2ft in the back. Right where you were saying you needed more room
@Reel Life Fisherman It's tough trying to walk around the back of the seat when you have Rods in the back of the seat cause they lean toward the back so you have to duck to get around them. The 24' gives you 2 extra feet right? There which is a lot more Room.
@Reel Life Fisherman I have got a question. when you were doing your walk around the boat. I saw behind the pull out back rest. There is a cover there. Does that interfere at all with your closing the backrest? I want to put a rod holder on either side and that's the perfect place to put a hole so that I can threw mount the rod holder, but I. Was afraid to put a cover on there because i thought i wouldn't be able to close and secure the backrest.
Exactly! But I find myself trolling 5mph or so a lot.. so thinking about putting a kicker on a bracket off the transom . For saving hours on the main.. it would probably have to be a 15hp though for sure
But high speed stuff would have to be on the main.. sometimes we are trolling around 10mph . But slower speeds and slow trolling live bait would be good on a kicker.. so I might just do it ..
Loving it! But also missing the fishing there as well.. I’m trying to get out fishing as much as I can.. because I have so much to learn.. but life and problems and weather seem to be getting in the way lately. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it!
What kind of gas shocks and friction hinges did you get for the bow compartments and anchor locker. Have the exact same boat and been wanting to do the same thing you did
I do still like it! I haven’t had time yet to install the new auto trim tab controller I bought. I’ve been busy installing stuff on my new skiff. But I am going to be installing it later this month and doing a video on it. Hopefully it will make driving the boat a little easier just knowing where the trim tabs are positioned and the auto feature should help when passengers move around . Thanks for watching and commenting it appreciate it!
@@ReelLifeFisherman I pick mine up on Thur and I'm super excited. What brand do you plan on installing? And where would you install your trolling motor? I've read some articles where the mount it on the stern. I really appreciate your knowledge and experience and taking the time to share.
That is a hard call! They are very similar! And there are things I like about them both that the other doesn’t have. I like the room the foldable bench makes in the back on the sportsman. But also you loose a fish box there.. the console and hardtop I like the seafox . Also the sea foxes bow seating.. I like the seafox recessed trim tabs. But I like that sportsman put in the integrated controller with the LED lights. I like the Sportsmans black acrylic dash panel. And the nicer Garmin unit. But I like the seafoxes switch set up and lighting package and stereo system better. Also the walk through transom door is a little better quality on the seafox.. I would definitely still go with the seafox overall.. but the sportsman is still a great boat and you would be happy either way! Let me know if you have questions and thanks for watching! Boat shopping is fun and stressful! It’s a big decision and that’s why I made this video.
