The song is about abba to their fans to accept them as they are now, greetings from Sweden
I love how all the songs have so much meaning.
This could also be a direct reflection on Agnetha herself. Children gone, tantrums, frustrations, personal growth and coming back by letting people know she's not the same as many remember her. Or - this was all a grand misinterpretation on my part.
Love, love, just love how this song starts off slowly and then kicks into a different tempo at 0:51. making one want to to move and groove instantaneously!!!! ABBA still rock!
This is NOT a song about ABBA's comeback. This is about Agnetha's comeback to ABBA. She was the hot head and firebrand of the group, who chose her children over ABBA. Now the children have grown up and left the park. Her "tantrums and increasing frustrations" and going from " mad to not so bad" in her transformation. This is 100% Agnetha, and we love her just as she is!
The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors")
Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid
"Don't shut me down"
it's another surprise from ABBA
A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work
The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice.
Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us.
and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA
But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits
And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (as the begin, a double nod to "Thank you for the music")

@Ken B it’s a song they never actually released. A lot of songs from that period were pretty good and this one is actually not as bad as your making it sound.
@@juliebabygirl Old vocals, new backing tracks. it's great in my opinion. Separately, I don't know why people think older styles sound bad if they aren't a newer style.
I love "Just A Notion"; am glad they finished it and included it. Will add energy and joy to the album as it was started when they were at their peak. Benny's keyboard playing is phenomenal in it.
@@juliebabygirl it's because the one from 78 is completely incomplete and was not released then. True ABBA fans no matter how old the song was recorded, were yearning for the song's release. And so ABBA decided to.

I loved to see your face light up while listening to this song. I love everything about this song, the message, those voices, the harmonies, the chorus is absolutely fantastic, the whole concept to their come back with the ABBAtars and the arena they are building. As an old fan, I can hardly wait for the whole album to come out. The lyrics are brilliant with all the layers.
Listening to just the lyrics, half of it almost seems to be a reference to the new ABBA-tars and concert project coming in May. “When I left I felt I’d had enough But in the shape and form I appear now I have learned to cope and love and hope is why I am here now” “ And now you see another me, I’ve been reloaded yeah” “I’m not the one you knew, I’m now and then combined And I’m asking you to have an open mind. I’m not the same this time around” Pretty much describes Bjorn and Benny’s talking points about the new Voyage project that they have been talking about for the last 3 years and their hope that people will accept the holograms of them from 1979.

It's like Agnetha giving us all a wink. She did an interview on Swedish radio a week after it dropped. She was happy, joking, laughing about it. Really made my day. hey jay. its such a joy to see your reactions esp on amazing tracks like dont shut me down. an instant classic masterpiece!! when i first heard these 2 new songs last month i broke down crying. it was like seeing an old friend or relative i had not seen in 40 yrs. OMG never thought this day would ever happen. its the comeback of the century. the 3rd single just a notion came out at midnight so when i listened to it there had been 2400 views. 18 hrs later the video is approaching a million views. this new album is going to be epic!!! ABBA came back just when the world needed them the most. its trite to say but THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC ABBA welcome back- viva ABBA forever! p.s if you like remixes there are many posted but the best i think are from dj STORM. he just did just a notion today. he is from england he is brilliant check his mixes for DSMD. you will love them!!!

Well...I normally am much more critical of ABBA songs and just songs in general. It's just kind of a treat that they've put something new out. But ya it is good.

"Bumblebee" - has a mix of titanic & Fernando sound
"I can be that woman" - borrows some traits from their old song, one man, one woman
"Keep an eye on dan" - song ends with a Nod to their old song, S.O.S.
"No doubt about it" - a rock anthem that has some traits from their old song, hole in your soul
you can`t really find fault with good songs, and the hits keep on coming from Abba.

It's an okay song....I love the OLD Abba of yesterday....it has lost it's sparkle....but I guess that would be due to the state and age of their vocals....I love the background instrumentals...pure Abba
