Cool video, general strategy is seldom explained and often learned the hard way. For every decision in building, you should be making decisions in how you would raid it. I'll often communicate subtle vulnerability and put a flank base a little while away in view of where they might strike.
Good tips. You kind of touched on it in defense but my biggest tip would be to always have multiple respawns available in and around your base. Beds with rekits near fighting positions, flank bases with spare kits and bags just out of range of your primary respawns so you are never on timer. If you don't mind them being found by cheaters or forgetting about them you can also put cheap kits in stashes near these bags or in hidden areas around your base. Nothing sucks more than having your only respawn destroyed and being taken out of a defense before you've even started.
Good ideas overall, I consider Camouflage to also be a primary consideration. Making the base seem either tougher than it is or less worth booming in for the loot.
Don't agree with loot allocation: actually people that put all their stuff in one place are not crazy. It is called open-core and it is the best way to manage your base. You hide only excessive loot (sulfur, components, hqm) and "cold start pack" like chainsaw, drill, tea, couple of guns and hazmats. Other staff lays in one place near workbench and repair bench, so you can craft, build, drop loot and gear up faster. I personally put most of my guns, meds and gear several doors from main exit, so I can comeback to any fight in seconds after being shot. My trio mostly supress fights near our house even if odds are against us. When we get raided i just take out hidden components and craft guns i need.
@@Drizzza other points are legit, I would add: 1) don't build core: it is too obvious and targeted. You should put only tc in "core" and autorefill it up to 24 hours top. 2) if you hide loot make it sure that it is far away from "default raid path". Mostly it means that when raider goes by doors he does not open accidentally all your hideouts. 3) Build house greedy: calculate amount of deployables that you need during wipe and make house that fits all of them, but not larger. If house is to spacious cut it or load it. 4) Use all your loot: In ideal scenario you should have almost empty house (unless it is endgame). Recycle everything, put all excessive resources in house upgrade, throw away everything, that is not going be recycled or used in your game age. Then you will never need more than 14 crates in your house. 5) automate: simple sorter speeds things up so much, that i cannot live with out it any more. Now i build gear factory with auto locker fullfilment.
Great points, I really appreciate the in depth research and time you put into the video. Although you covered a lot of details I would really hope to see a few tips for how to best edge in base.
Shooting floors are dumb. I find the best strategy is to make a 3 layered roof defense on top with Metal Barricade all over the roof as this prevents players from landing on top of you base + some large solar pannels for power. If you have 3 layers of just metal halfwalls and Metal Floor just to get to the 1.st possible door to raid, you already costed a raider 12 C4. What you do is instead on side on top of your honeycombs build a low wall + half wall bunker design as this prevents players from getting inside (they can just destroy window and get in) and you have a circular path araund your base with sheet metal double door. To prevent softsiding or building up, you will have to place siren light all araund your base. This base is designed to survive the MLRS Rocket raids.
I would also use bunkers. The only downside is that some designs make surrounding walls difficult to build. Inconvenient when defending online. Most groups will also be deterred by early placement of an external tc. 2x2 is safer for raid.
Base looks familiar 😎
Best 2x2 design ever. Only thing i use with my own variations 🙌

Yeah the shipping container dlc is op
Another great video! Compart-Com-Compartmentalization ....LOVE your editing and you seem so down to earth! Thanks for the great content!

Nicely done! I always use terrain if solo, nothing like having a free side or two against a cliff/rock.

I think bunkers are extremely cheap and a glitch which i dont ever condone
