I'd like to contribute about the fishing strategy: When I go out fishing, I like to do so in the Bandit camp instead. The downside is that you cannot find the small shark in there and there might be a setup time due to the need of chopping down trees with a rock (other tools unavailable due to safe zone restriction), but I think the pros far outweight the cons. First, it's a safe zone as well. Second, there is an area in the pond by the casino building where it is illuminated at nights, making it so much easier to fish at nights (this is where you'll be chopping the trees down before beginning). Third, the variety of tools you have at your disposal: you'll have access to drone shopping (this is how you'll be exchanging your fishes for scraps), a workbench, research table, recyclers, a gun shop (this is huge) and other shops (medium battery, lockers etc) and, the best of all, a repair bench in case you want to repair your fishing rod(s) after they break. Remember that you don't have to buy your fishing rod, as this is a very easy tool to make on your own; if you find a set of sewing kits on your way to the Bandit and use the wood from the trees you'll be chopping in the pond, you'll most likely already have enough to build 2 rods (and to repair them later). Don't forget to bring at least 20 scraps for the shopping drones, but if you get a blue keycard from gutting a salmon you can sell it there for 40. Also bring any baits you find in the way: apples, berries, raw meat, corn etc. The catfish (3rd highest price) yields 65 per pair which is 28% less than the small shark but given what Bandit camp has to offer, I think it's a much better option.
Me and my friend have been abusing the Junkyard strat for so long.. it's litteraly so safe, its easy, its an enormous ammount of scrap, and untill now almost nobody knew about it, so it has been up all of the time. Now we will have to compete for it=))
Haha, sorry for exposing it. I typically run the roads and end up looting the junkyard. I will then recycle my items at the junkyard's recycler and come home with stacks of cloth, metal, and scrap. 10/10 would recommend.

i like powerplant! there is a non rad or rad tankable path naked you can get all the boxes save for the stack just by avoiding the piles plus it has barrels and roads around it
Your videos are just the best. I really like the amount of effort on your videos i always watch it till the end for respect and because I really find it entertainment.
Fishing is, in my opinion, the best method. I do it for about 4 hours straight after farming a few resources. I build a little base with water access about and 3 walls deep into the water and get around 6000- 8000 scarp afterwards if I do it solo. I did it one time with two if my friends and unlocked nearly anything. We had aks 7 hours into wipe and could craft them. Even built c4 really early and raided everybody near us.
Yeah, if you're able to build a dedicated base it speeds things up. Main benefit over other methods is security. It really adds up when you consider how many times you might die doing the other methods.
Metal detector wouldn't fit into this video as I'm only focusing on methods you can perform from the moment you spawn up, without requiring a tech tree item or armour. I have a dedicated metal detector guide where I cover the loot I obtained after a bunch of runs if you're interested in some comparisons.
I’ve used the water barrel method but only with a regular boat or better. Doing it with a kayak means almost certain death the longer you’re there. And a regular boat is faster and more reliable. The only time I’d say get out of the ocean which is typically safer is if your near an area that attracts a lot of players. Otherwise for me it’s been the best quick high yielding method I’ve found to obtain just about everything. Pair it with living near water treatment and large oil and your set for most of the game. My best runs have come from this combo. If you’re near outpost it’s even better. I played for 3 hours last week and got to tier three extremely quickly. We suck at PvP so countering other ocean going players carrying high yields of loot is so much easier than fighting on land
You should make a video comparing the higher tier monuments and how much scrap you get/how long it takes to loot each one! Could also include if they have crude spawns or pump jacks
Is there a reason you didn't include using a horse and a compost, to create fertiliser to sell for scrap? The horse doubles as a really good early method of transport to Outpost to recycle and sell the fertiliser. Integrating a stable into your base will keep a horse, or two, safe from rustlers.
i just got a few horses, a couple troughs and a composter, turn the dung into fertilizer and sell it at bandit camp, you have to wait for it to restock, takes a few minutes, but 1000 fertilizers gets around 1500 scrap
Scrap Strategies I personally like to use. Horse Farm. Setup a horse farm so you will be getting horse dung while afk or not even playing. Downfall is the patch of the bandit camp trade in timer. Fishing. Fish and sell through drones or at fishing village
Should have mentioned that in my video for the road section. Actually, it would have been interesting to measure the different in scrap for running the roads + harvesting the signs and without harvesting the signs.
@@JfarrYTI pretty much exclusively run the roads, but I'm new and coming back after the very early days. Would love to see the breakdown on collecting signs on the road and without!!
I think this video is the first one I've seen that explains that the giant Junkyard recycler literally spits out scrap and frags after you drop a vehicle into it. Or that shows you can pickup non-usable vehicles too. I think cargo is worth mentioning as a method of attaining scrap, but it probably doesn't fit your experiment due to gear and time required and is about to change quite a bit. It's not unusual to finish a cargo run with 1100 scrap.
It's extremely rare you see anyone using the junkyard crane to scrap vehicles. I think it's due to not many people knowing it's a feature and it's actually quite satisfying to do. I thought about many different monuments to include, but as you pointed out, it wouldn't really fit in a video like this. I plan to do a monuments version of this video in the future, where I will focus on each monument and event to compare the scrap/loot.
@@JfarrYT the first time I ever did it, the instructions I'd originally read made out that I had to scrap a driveable vehicle and that it would result in me "getting scrap". They didn't even explain that I had to get out and pick up the scrap despawning on the ground outside 😂
Step 1: Get a Paddle, Stalk outpost in safe zones, Bust Barrels, Breaks Signs, Build Up Tier One, get 4K Wood, 4K Stone: Build a trap 2X2 with Walls. Step 2: Grief
pvp is the best, u just might get 10k scrap in just 15 bullets (big problem is that you will not be playing this server for long as you will get raided)
Fastest is running road with couple mace or clevers and pure scrap tea. Can farm up to 8k scrap per hour if recycling all comps. But this is most dangerous way to farm
I know a easy and dumb way to make shitload of scrap. Run to outpost while collecting stuff along the road (yes even rocks). With scrap buy a shotgun trap and few smokes and trow them into recycer to make some gunpowder. Now buy some stone and wood (metal if you have spare) and craft doors, tc and ammo for a trap. Run outside the outpost following the road and build a simple raised shotgun trap base just next to outpost road (as most people follow it). Now pretent you are raiding the base with spear and people with loot will jump inside, getting killed by a shotgun trap. Simply loot them and then move the loot to a main base. Since you get some much scrap and components from dum dums, you can just buy base materials for scrap.
That makes the whole experience way more convenient. You can actually make really good scrap if you use a combat knife and know the locations of the ship wrecks.
haha, pure vanilla. Just didn't have to deal with piles being already looted and made sure to recycle every item and component. So it's the best case scenario.
@@JfarrYT Yeah, but tech trash, gears, tarp and HQM are more useful than scrap and harder to come by, I hold on to them because I know I will need vending machines and farm equipment. You can make as much scrap as you like selling fish, fertiliser or cloth in the Bandit Camp shop, the only limiting factor is how long you are willing to stand about waiting for time outs. Guns are irrelevant to my playstyle, I just want to avoid PVP and get my farm going as fast as possible.
The metal detector is a workbench-restricted item. They may be better suited for a separate video, but for this one, it's all about the best strategies after spawning without tech tree/randomly found items.
Pointless vid in practicality. YOu're going to run 15 mins on the road and then try to recycle at supermarket or gas station? You would be killed in 3 minutes if you stayed there that long. Unless you're on a server with under 50 pop, there is no chance of this being practical.
