BRUH finally. Thankyou bro. I’m a solo at heart and have been looking for the ideal way to maintain a small but good base so that I won’t get messed with by clans. All the videos I find expand the base to the point where it is huge. This is what I was looking for. Awesome vid
I knew all of this and do it my own way by now, but I think these videos are good for new players and I appreciate you use base game boxes instead of frontier barrels, because people like me who have them already know how to place them.
I do the 2x2 differently than anything I have seen (warning long): If you only have 2-4 furnaces, you can only cook 1200-2400 frags per 33 minutes. But there are so many early game items that need frags. You need frags for all the early game weapons: sar, db, waterpipe, nailgun, crossbow, compound bow, speargun, revolver, eoka pistol, f1 grenades, shotgun traps, landmines, hatchet, pickaxe, workbenches, electrical items, garage doors, pistol ammo, and rifle ammo. And you might have to make tons of these if you die a lot. You also need frags for starter base upgrades. You also need frags to start making your main base. You also need frags to make a bunker base since you don't have HQM in the early game. So I do an L shaped starter. First room is tc loot room. Second room is workbench and 2-3 furnaces. Third room is eight furnaces. So in total I have 10-11 furnaces which lets me cook 6000-6600 frags per 33 minutes. And after you have tons of metal fragments, you can just pick up the eight furnaces and make a 2nd loot room. These temporary eight furnaces and living next to a good source of nodes will ensure you never run out of any early game items and that you can start building your main base a lot sooner. You can get the low grade fuel for all these furnaces at the free small oil refineries: outpost, harbors, two at water treatment, dome. Or at the pump jacks that turn diesel into low grade fuel at train yard, power plant, and water treatment plant. Or just walk into the snow with two nailguns and kill a few bears. Or just buy them from other players since everyone has tons of low grade fuel. Then I add the fourth room later which is a small oil refinery for cooking crude oil into low grade fuel. By the time you get to a small oil refinery, you probably also have good guns, and you need low grade fuel to make medical syringes to pvp constantly. So you have a ton of medical syringes, and a ton of fuel for your minicopters, and you have guns to roam. And you can trade the excess low grade fuel for diesel at outpost. so you take your diesel and your guns to the quarries or excavator to get HQM or sulfur or frags. In conclusion, the eight furnaces room helps you in the early game to survive any setback and get to midgame and t2 guns, which is exactly what you want in a starter. And the small oil refinery lets you get tons of medical syringes for pvp. You're set for wipe.
Drizzza, on this 2x2, if you put your square floor shelf up, then the triangle, you can then break the square, and make it a triangle as well - that way there is no way for people to use a building plan to find "the rooms with shelves in them". 2 triangle floors - don't show up on the outside of the base. Just a suggestion. Also, mount your shotgun traps to the bottom of the shelf so they don't take damage from someone rebounding a grenade into that room from the airlock. If its on the floor it will take damage.
I think I would rework this video. it feels rushed. this box to this box and that box and this box starts to sound like a chant instead of instructions. "box one will connect to box two. all your sulfer goes into box one. In box three you want to route all your charcoal," etc...
Great guide. One advice: don't place root combiner on your roof, it has low durability and can be easily destroyed with a melee weapon. Also, always upgrade your floor tiles to HQM: it's very cheap and let's you avoid being splash rocketed from the top, opening the whole base.
is that layout good for getting raiding? cause raiders can look down the door and its full access to peak. whereas if your loot rooms faced the door, you can at least hide to the side.
FYI... As a solo, I prefer to put the TC the other way. I can put 2large+2small on top shelf, and 2 large+4small+bbq at the bottom. (Also you probably know that)...
Yeah i'm a big "triangle shelf" hater myself so im annoyed when someone does it like this. I'm using barrels and have my config uploaded if u want to check it out :D
New gun as the others said, i believe they reverted it from being a dlc skin and might turn it into its own T2 weapon, i record all my videos on the staging branch of rust
@@Drizzza Also these 2x2's are great to plop down in multiple areas of the map due to the low upkeep. Getting doorcamped? that won't stop my progression when I got another base just like it ten grids away lol
two battery in series does kill the charging efficiency.. 100x.8x.8 = total of 64%. simple backup could lock like; battery one to blocker and battery two to electrical branch, branch out to blocker passthrough and the outputs combined with a or-switch -> second battery takes over as first battery (e-branch) runs out of energy. since the last update, this logic runs without additional energy cost (only the theoretical useful max. output will be reduced by two -> e.g. from 15 to 13 for the rest consumers with two small battery's)
Wassam all, awesome 2x2 Drizzla, would you mind checking out mine? The one in the uploaded video holds a computer station, 9 small furnaces, an indoor non electric garden w/small water catcher, indoor fish trap, boat garage, research table and a repair bench.
bruh ur tc placement isn't it u can fit another box if u place it right and still have space for a small box or 2, also in your lootrooms rather than only putting 2 large boxes fit 3 and u still have a small box . btw i have more than 6k hours and have done this for a while. I also have a 2x2 design that has a 7 box tc loot room bunker and pixel gaps it is also a 2x2. ( which i shall perfer to gatekeep)
Bro I havnt played rust in a while like 3 years I got banned for using a vpn they thought I was cheating didn’t listen to me didn’t script check so I just quit the game shit was annoying admins are assholes they never listen
Suddenly I feel the urge to build a 2x2 again as my starter
There's not even enough room to fart

Bonus tip, go all triangles. Helped me tons in minimizing space.

Most based rust comment ever

why is everyone hating😢 i think this video is usefull even if i have 5k hrs and know everything about this base
Ty, I'm redoing all of my outdated videos
it’s a good intro to base automation

You just reduced my base size by 10 foundations. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
New to pc Rust. Thanks for the clear and helpful video. Subbed.
🙏🙏🙏
Great video!!! Automate them furnaces. Don't need a button. ;)
Button is only needed to turn the furnaces one, plus you can use same input to close doors, which is handy.
Yeah you can use a switch too
btw you can use barrels for storage as they allow for more storage space. if done right u can fit 7 barrels and a tc in a 1x1 i believe
Yessir
Great content bro, I need to utilize this in a upcoming vid on my channel
Ty ty
Damn first time i see this in one video
Awesome, great video
🙏
you can fit one extra large box at tc on the floor if placed correctly
Ok

This is 4 rockets on doors total lmao
@Drizza if you add g doors then it makes it more so you might as well make the roof hqm
@Drizzza I mean
if u use the barrels dlc u can have more space

Hi thank's for the vid now I'm ready for when industrial will come to console !
Great video
🙏🙏🙏
wtf is this insanely good 2x2 makes mine seem garbage
😂😭😂
FYI You can put 2 small boxes bellow the workbench2 if you put them sideways. (also I doubt you didn't know)
Great video. A simple and straightforward guide to a 2.0 2x2!
🙏
What is that gun?? That's the coolest weapon I've ever seen in this game
Any tips on how to upgrade this 2by2?
I wouldn't just build multiple instead or go to a main base build
FYI... As a solo, I prefer to put the TC the other way. I can put 2large+2small on top shelf, and 2 large+4small+bbq at the bottom. (Also you probably know that)...
There's also a pretty good barrel config but its hard to industrialize
Yeah i'm a big "triangle shelf" hater myself so im annoyed when someone does it like this. I'm using barrels and have my config uploaded if u want to check it out :D
I don't care how annoying it is I will always seal my tc and use drop box
😂😂😂
What is the weapon you have in your hand? Is it custom to a server?
Its called the sks I think they are going to be adding it to the game soon as a new weapon
Think the SKS is going to be a SAR skin unfortunately
New gun as the others said, i believe they reverted it from being a dlc skin and might turn it into its own T2 weapon, i record all my videos on the staging branch of rust
Never knew that about the industrial system at 06:50 Where can I see all the categories?
Nvm you right said it afterwards 😅
I always forget what they all are cuz theres weird ones like bp_deployables. I just end up hitting every key on my keyboard to find the categories
is SKS coming as a gun or skin?
Not 100% sure but I'd guess it's own gun
not going to lie. this works, but for groups of 4 you should not still be living in an unexpanded 2x2 this late into progression.
With teams I've played with we have most of the industrial up very quickly and then use this as a pvp or farm base
@@Drizzza Also these 2x2's are great to plop down in multiple areas of the map due to the low upkeep. Getting doorcamped? that won't stop my progression when I got another base just like it ten grids away lol
Very good tutorial however i will keep my way
Ok
Jokes on you this is the only social media I have lol. But fr I'm not the one complaining. Game is still fun
🙏
Take your 2x2 to the next level by making it a 4x4 or 5x5 with a functional shell and an open core!!
two battery in series does kill the charging efficiency..
No I dont think I will... I paid for the barrels 😪
And then get raided once you're done
does the igniter thing work on console?
It should but i know nothing of console rust
Wassam all, awesome 2x2 Drizzla, would you mind checking out mine? The one in the uploaded video holds a computer station, 9 small furnaces, an indoor non electric garden w/small water catcher, indoor fish trap, boat garage, research table and a repair bench.
Nice video (you probably already know this)
Thanks, should watch the rest of the "new player to rust" playlist in the description 🙏🙏🙏
Bruh what is that ak skin its sick
New sks gun thats not out yet
sigh... im the one complaining on twitter
😂😂😂
Time to grow up
@@Promptshot i am 54 years old. If i grow up i will die
😂😂😂
you don't need an igniter at all... just light it yourself itll stay on until you run out of wood
I said in the video that part is qol
A lot of work to get offlined the second you leave the game
Ok

Vpns arent allowed in a majority of online games
