Luis Rivera and his childhood friend Sigfredo Garcia drove up to Tallahassee in July 2014 and killed law professor Dan Markel. In this previous livestream, Judy the UA-cam Lawyer read the 2nd part of a transcript of Luis Rivera's proffer from October 4, 2016. Rivera was the first of the murder conspirators to cut a deal with the State and is serving a 19-year sentence for his role in the murder, as well as unrelated federal drug charges. Rivera will be testifying again for the State in the upcoming trial of Donna Adelson, Markel's former mother-in-law, which begins with jury selection on 9/17/2024.

@@aalegalfocus No, it is not allowed at all to televise, livestream or take photos of trials or hearings. Journalists can be in the Courtroom so we will get some information about it. Yes the husband was supposed to be at the lunch, and she had made several previous attempts to poison him which she has also been charged with!

Charlie's chances of getting away with this were less than 1%. Whether he let Katie set things up on her own or whether he supevised-- Charlie is pretty stupid. I would never send two gang membets on a job like this because the odds of them having future police contact is 1000%. And cops like to make deals. And facing prison time, criminals tend to squeal. Katie and Sigfredo are exceptions. I guess Charlie was paying Sigfredo's and Katie's canteen funds. Hopefully Harvey is paying Sigfredo's canteen. But Sigfredo can be sure that his funds will be cut off after Donna's trial.
