Part 3 of reading the transcript of hitman Luis Rivera's police interview from 10/4/2016. FSU Law Professor Dan Markel was shot by Sigfredo Garcia on 7/18/2014 in his garage in Tallahassee, Florida. Rivera had helped to get the weapon and helped to drive Garcia to kill Dan Markel. Three days later, his ex-wife Wendi Adelson drove off to south Florida with her parents and their 2 young sons. Adelson had filed a Motion to Relocate the previous year, but it was denied with prejudice by Judge Barbara Hobbs. Rivera later cut a deal with the State and received a sentence of a total of 19 years for Markel's murder and unrelated drug charges. Over 10 years later, Wendi Adelson's mother, Donna Adelson, is in jail awaiting trial for her role in the murder for hire of Prof. Markel. Wendi Adelson's older brother Charles Adelson was convicted last November for first-degree murder, conspiracy and solicitation to commit murder. She has been named by the State as a co-conspirator but has not been charged with any crimes thus far.
