Okay…I never say anything like this…but, for over 2 years now of watching and I might add enjoying Paula here on UA-cam….I simply have to say something….As I read through some of the comments, and not just today mind you, I’ve been noticing for quite some time now…with nearly every video being posted. This is what I am seeing: ~ Here we have Paula cooking, in the privacy of her own kitchen….spending her own money (not ours) buying all of the ingredients, which we all know isn’t cheap, especially when you do it everyday as she does….and not just her in the kitchen…you also have MUCH time spent by Teresa…helping to gather and prep all this wonderful food….then there’s our Eddie who films, edits and makes sure everyone looks their best so we can sit back and "enjoy" these beautiful recipes and reap the fruits of their labor that are shared day in and day out….in other words…HUGE efforts are being made here….I think we can agree that Paula has been a constant for all of our enjoyment since Covid….I for one wouldn’t have made it this far without seeing ALL of their sweet faces…sharing their constant love and laughter with us….and yet…it seems there are always those few negative Nellie’s that always want to rain on someone else’s parade?! Why?? Making snarky comments that are not necessary and certainly not warranted. Please, please….if you have to be so negative all the time….why do you watch???? I’ll just never understand it….so very sad.

Not only did she sometimes use heavy cream with her pesto, she also mixed in ricotta cheese if cream wasn't available. It created a milder tasting pesto and made the pasta creamy. I am a long time fan and subscriber here and watch every video so please don't jump on me y'all. Why on earth do you need to spray chicken with those chemicals to put them into a non-stick skillet with olive oil in it? That makes no sense to me when there are so many dangers with those sprays and there was no chance of that chicken sticking. The recipe looks tasty and I thank you for doing a video but the constant needless use of those sprays on here concerns me. Respectfully, 💜

I think it was more for the salt and pepper to stick to the chicken better before she places it in the pan. To ensure it seasons the chicken to it's max potential. If you have the time to rub it in and let it sit for a little while before cooking, that would be better ofc but our dear Paula is on camera and she is cutting a few shortcuts due to this I think.. God bless

    • @stacey8420

I've been saying that too. I cringe every time she sprays the food.. Not only is that spray not meant for spraying food, it should never be used in nonstick cookware. It creates a film over time on the finish of the nonstick, which doesn't wash off, and eventually defeats the purpose of nonstick.

I've seen other Southern UA-cam cooks spray the food and dishes liberally with it, and it makes me cringe. All she needed to have done was to turn the meat in the olive oil whilst in the pan, and season it in there. It's not even available in the UK, maybe down to stricter controls.

Love the looks of this dish. Paula, you are a riot! Love your sense of humor. I think I'll make my own pesto as I have a ton of basil in my little garden. Happy Saturday and God bless.

Very confused...ive never seen pesto mixed with heavy cream before ...strange !
I think pesto itself is sufficient...(I prefer fresh made pesto)

I don't understand how you, Paula can ask people to spend money on your magazine or other products at this particular time when the USA is now in a recession and have no money. Do you realize how that may make some people feel? I bet you don't even think about it. It makes some people feel bad because they don't have the money. You don't need the money, so stop asking people what they don't have.

@@londonlady227 I don't think so. If you believe Paula Deen is in financial trouble you don't know much about her business empire. She has restaurants all across the south, her own line of jewelry, her own line of cookware and accessories, her own line of small kitchen appliances, all kinds of merch on Amazon and in her own stores both online and in her restaurants, her own line of food items such as biscuit mix, vanilla and seasoning salts and blends, her own magazines plus what she makes from UA-cam and guest appearances on other shows. I am sure I have forgot something, but you get the picture. She is in no way really like us.

@@londonlady227 If you think restaurants and professional kitchens take the time to wash chicken, you are mistaken. Aside from many restaurants using frozen chicken products, any fresh chicken is never washed due to the prospect of cross contamination with splashing, the sink itself and any pot ware, colanders, utensils, etc. used. It just isn't done.
