    The Marine Raider Regiment, also known as MARSOC and MSOR is the United States Marine Corps elite Special Operations Regiment. Marine Raiders are a part of MARSOC (Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command) and SOCOM (Special Operations Command).
    Marine Raiders have a rich past dating back to WWII where they would conduct special amphibious light infantry warfare, particularly in landing in rubber boats and operating behind the lines.
    In today's times, Marine Raiders specialize in Counter-Terrorism, Direct Action, Foreign Internal Defence and Special Reconnaissance operations.
    The Marine Raider Regiment consists of a Headquarters Company and three Marine Raider Battalions (1st, 2nd and 3rd)

    Glad to see the MARSOC doing their mission well. In 2001, I attended the Marine Corps Command and Staff college as a Army officer. My background is in SOF so I wrote a paper on how to bring the Marines into SOF. I was told by the Marine Corps leadership it would never happen; in my time at SOCPAC, I got to see this become a reality. So glad I wrote the paper in 2001 and now the MARSOC is a reality.

      @FREEDOMFIGHTER47 I still remember the feeling of pure rage that took over me when I was told there was a possibility I wouldn't deploy back in 2012. Thankfully later on that turned out to be false and I ended up deploying to Afghanistan. Sounds weird when someone is happy about that I know. lol But still, that moment when I thought I wouldn't and other people would go to fight while I was stuck in the states twiddling my thumbs nearly made me snap, so I understand some of the frustration.

    • @OTBASH
      @OTBASH 4 роки тому +3

      @FREEDOMFIGHTER47 It was out of your control. I know what I'm about to say wont make it better, but it's the truth. You may not have deployed, but if your story is true, at least you had the balls to take that oath and was willing/ready to fight and die. Not many people have that grit.

      Yeah I was in 2nd FAST and they completly changed our training and increased our op tempo and we were like "wtf?", stuff got rough out of the blue and the change was confusing and eventually we were told were doing some sort of experiment because the Corps wants to make a special forces unit, we were like "thats impossible, this is the Corps, all Marines are one and we already got Force Recon" but they figured out a way to pull it off. Our platoon commander was Capt. Wolfebarger, now LT Col Wolfenbarger commander of MARSOC, from my experience the dude was legit, textbook definition of firm but fair, one of those extreme professionals thats married to the Corps.

    I set my goal to be in MARSOC ever since I was around 8. I worked so hard in school, in sports, and tried to be the best person I could possibly be. I was near the top of my classes, competing at state championships, and had a sense of self worth. A few months ago, I lost my way, and I fear I'm never going to get back on track. I feel lost. My grades senior year have dropped, I've lost all muscle and endurance I gained all this time, and I've lost my religion. All I know is sitting in bed and looking at would I could have been headed to if I held on for a little bit longer. I had what it took, but I don't anymore.

      Don't worry, life is not a sprint it's a marathon. Just look at David Goggins, failing at everything was a nobody and at 24 he turned his life around and became a Navy SEAL. If you haven't seen him before, search him up on UA-cam, he is a big inspiration on what's possible! Good luck in the future :)

      Hayden Filsinger Hey, I know what you mean man.. since 7th grade I’ve wanted to join the Marines, it became my absolute dream freshman year, I wouldn’t trade the world to not be in the marines.. I worked, I was getting 280PFT scores, studying marine corps history, everything that came with the title marine, I wanted Force recon and then I wanted to join MARSOC, but for a few months something happened and i stopped, my bad habits like soda and too much TV lurked, I slept in more than I should, I took comfort over progress and strength. Then I watched Lone survivor and started researching, and after looking through so much I found a workout called Body Armor, or more commonly known as “The Murph” 1 mile, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, 1 mile. I set the goal, I couldn’t do more than 10 chin ups when I got back on the bar.. now I’m at 26. Once I felt the strength flow through me again, the feeling of power and confidence. My mentality was slowly restored, along with my physical strength I had earned. Find a challenge, a goal, something to push off of, don’t give up. Follow the dream!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    My dream career is to become a MARSOC Marine Raider. It Doesn’t matter where you come from, it matters what you made of.
    I have a saying from Charles Bukowski that was said in the video, at 5:09
    *If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.*

    Also- the Golf expo, Iversons suite has "meeting space". Concern was brought up that his basketball team would have access to more meeting space. It's not a meeting without a coach, and all sports teams can be found weekly going out for fun time. Zues decided to keep it fair by upgrading all coaches and assistant coaches of any pro sports team. They automatically have "meeting space" in their permanent suite assignment with separate entry. I don't think they will ever utilize the space for that, but it is great for friends and family. Nor did we ever think that Iverson would utilize the space for that, but we wanted to keep it fair, with no potential of a "call out" by Aronias at Stadium forum.

    I have a shit ton of respect for my Marine Corps MARSOC and Force Recon. But, I wanna say, I have seen everyday infantry Marines doing shit and being selfless and making sacrifices just the same. In fact not just infantry Marines, but any Marine when the occasion arises, will surprise you. And often times you will never hear about it. I saw Force Recon Marines transition to MARSOC and take it to the next level. Super proud of em all! Semper Fi.

    I love the wolf, studied the wolf and understand the wolf (not as much as I would like) my dog is a close relative to the wolf a Maremma - the best guard dog you could have, God Bless the Wolf and his pack, for there has never been a more terrifying creature produced by god. If man could harness the beast and inflict war on his enemies, he would rule for eternity, YOU must be like the wolf in battle, cunning and ruthless. The enemy must know when the wolf has come to the door and it will be the last time it is opened - Black Wolf Hunting.
    Always respect for the team.
