I have a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis Ultimate Edition in Arizona beige with a beige leather interior. I bought it brand new in August 2004. I had a Magna Flow dual exhast put on it several years ago. I still drive it every day. It has 165,000 miles on it. I love driving it.
I have owned 6 Marquis, bought them all, used, low mileage. My present is a 2006 Ultimate with rack & pinion air ride, under 60 thousand miles. This car drives and rides like a dream and gets 25 miles per gal at 75 mph.

Kyle, you were one of the first channels I subbed to many, many years ago. I'm glad to see all of your success and dedication over the years. Congrats and I'm really enjoying the update to a classic on the channel.
Miss papa on the channel kyle but your grandfather was a special person in your channel i know but watching your videos i remember my grand father passed away back in 2003 still miss her so much
This reminds me of a personal situation of mine. I took over my great grandfather's 2003 Chevy Impala when he passed away in 2011. I've kept it pristine just as he always did. I still have it to this day. It's not my every day driver but I drive it often. She's up to 66,000 now. I got her at just 34,000.
I had a Town Car for a while and it was such a nice ride. It wasn't fast but sure felt it. That torque was nice. And the seats were like relaxing on your couch.
Hello Kyle... I love your story with your grandfather because it reflects mine... I have the same good relationship with my grandpa... my grandfather worked for Ford for 28 years and always had a Ford parked in his driveway since the day he had his driver's licence. He told me that Ford was the best company he had ever worked for and trust me he had many jobs before that. When I was born in 1978 he had in his possession a Grand Marquis 1977 champagne color up until 1992 when he changed for the new aero Grand Marquis LS 1992 blue color and at that period he had retired from Ford. Not long after he bought a 1994 Grand Marquis LS... a black one this time.... kept it for 3 years and switched for the brand new 1997 Taurus SHO which I had a chance to drive and let me tell you... it was a blast ! Today my grandpa drives a 2013 Lincoln MKZ in immaculate condition which I probably gonna be the owner when the time comes. He is gonna be 88 years old in july and still alive and kicking. I personnally own a black 2003 Mercury Marauder in pristine condition with 86,500 km which is about 53,000 miles and so proud of it.... the panther platform is the best and will always remembers me of my grandfather. I love the way these cars eat the roads and they are so comfortable. P.S. Sorry about my english, it's because I am a french canadian from Montreal, Québec (Canada). I just want to let you know Kyle that I surely appreciate your story about you and your grandfather... especially the one vid that you've switched exhausts and tires as a surprise for you grandpa. Have a nice day Kyle !
Currently own a 1996 Mercury Marquis. It's the last car my mom drove, and is now my daily driver. It has 113,000 miles on it, and still runs like it's new.
Sorry to hear Grandpa Slim has passed on. The Mercury still looks and sounds great!! Interesting to hear Grand Marquis LS-E model engine specs. I inherited a 2005 Grand Marquis LS-E from my father and it's also an heirloom. It's my daily driver with 120,000 miles and counting. I love it!!!
Here in Mexico, we technically got the Mercury Grand Marquis in the form of the FORD Grand Marquis, which was sold at Ford dealerships as the highest trim of the Ford Crown Victoria. I drive a 2007 Grand Marquis that I bought during my first year of university back in 2013. It's a great car and it has never let me down. I know Papa Slim is looking after you from heaven and he is happy and proud you are still enjoying his car.
I’ve learned something over the years.. the old folks seem to always have great taste in automobiles! Papa slim was one of those old folks, he bought a car from a brand gone by and he preserved that thing perfectly!
man i love your videos I see them for years, clearly he was a great man in life and you are lucky to have him in your memory, I hope you never stop doing this
Great video!! Remember 03s saw the adoption of seat belt pretensioners as well. 03 saw the first time of optional side air bags and heated seats on the Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria.
23:18 I dont think thats dumb. I had to move one of these one time in my auto tech class and absolutely loved the car. The door handle like how you said does have a nice sound, so much so that I literally opened and closed the door like 3 times. There's just something I absolutely love about late 90s and early 2000's Ford products. The look of them, the sound, the feel, this was honestly my favorite car you have on this channel.
Sorry to hear about your grandpa. He seemed like a chill person. Everytime I watch videos on either the Mercury grand marquis, Ford crown victoria or the Lincoln town car, it makes me appreciate the 2008 Ford crown victoria p71 I own. These panther vehicles are some of the best cars to own in my opinion. They're comfortable, reliable and they're not bad on gas for a V8. I use to drive a taxi and the crown vic's and grand marquis were used in the fleet. They would easily get up to 300,000+ miles with the original engine and transmission considering the type of use and abuse they would go thru everyday. My car has 190,000 miles on it and I bought it for $1300 in 2018 (173,000 then). You can get these cars for real cheap and they last. I know I still got at least another solid 8-10 years on my p71. I've seen many other Panthers for sale with under 100,000 miles and just think they're just getting broken in. My next car is gonna be a Lincoln town car before they disappear. I've seen your other videos and enjoy watching the full detailed videos. I just subscribed and like. Thank you sir for the great videos!
Been subscribed to your channel for years now, I really like how much of car’s little details no one else cares to show you put into your videos, but above all I really appreciate all you have shared yourself and about Papa Slim, I remember quite well your videos with him, and I was really struck last year when I learned he had passed. Thanks a lot for all what you have shared over the years, take really good care of the Marquis, its a beautiful car and a priceless piece of history and memories.
Man what a nice old Mercury. You hang on to this one Kyle. They not worth much now so keep it forever. U keep lovin on it and take care of it sure is special
That's an early release 03, so it'll have the metal timing tensioners that makes the timing set last 350,000-450,000 miles. The early 03s have a white X with 3 dots above it on the front of the valve covers. Excellent cars. I have an 03 Grand Marquis LS Ultimate with 325,000 miles and it's still strong!! Great video!!
I have a 2003 M G Marquis with cloth top I think called rag top. I’m about to sell it. I’d love some info I could put with the listing that might help me get a better price. I need all I can get at these hard times. Thank you!!
@@BlessedBaubles I purchased a 2001 MGM about six months ago. I'm not a pro but this is what I would do. Look up your car online. Get all the specifics on it... Engine info, features, etc. If the car is very clean, explain that. You should list the VIN number too otherwise people think you are hiding something. Put the mileage on the ad and do take a lot of pictures. Go online to the various car selling websites and see what other people are asking for your car. The miles, condition, year and how clean make all the difference. You could also list any recent repairs you have done. If the battery was replaced last year... You could mention that for example. Determine your asking price. Make it fair. Be prepared for people to try to wiggle you down on price. Be either firm or decide ahead of time... If you would go a little lower ...like $300 or so. I assume you have the title to the car. Put on the ad serious inquiries only. Try to sell to someone who wants the car for themselves... Not a person who will resell and make a profit. Make sure you have a clean title. Mention that in ad. Are the tires in great shape? You could mention that. Also... Be open about any flaws on the body or inside. If you know it needs any repairs mention it. Be honest. People don't mind fixing these cars. They love to do it. Accept a certified check for payment. Develop a plan on how and where they could test drive the car. Bring a friend with you. Don't let them test drive alone. You could sell to a used car place... Less work and quicker. But...you will get less because they need to make a profit. Can you park car near a busy road so many people can see it? Depends where you live. Get a for sale sign for the window. Put your phone number on sign. These are favorite project cars for people. Probably the best American cars ever made. Hope this helps. No one answered you so I thought to drop you a note. Greetings from New Jersey USA. P.s. I never plan on selling mine. Got rid of a stupid new leased Cheaply made Chevy Malibu. Never looked back. Parts are cheapest for these cars and very easy to still find. And the engine is user friendly. Easy to work on too 🚗🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀 oh...yes...it is called a rag top.
Sincerely Lavender Wow! Thank you very much. Such a very kind and thorough response. I think I like people from PA!! Very very kind and helpful people indeed! After COVID, like many ppl, I took out my sewing machine to make masks like most ppl did but my machine didn’t work. It’s another well made machine, older, but awesome. However, no one works on them anymore. I tried for weeks to find someone to just take a look at it but found no one. Then I went UA-cam to search for info on the machine and through a Vedic I found a super smart, wonderful person who doesn’t really work on these machines anymore but agreed to fix mine. 😁 Wow! I like PA people!) Anyway, yes, the title is very clean, only 1 owner before me and I’ve only had it one year. The woman before me took very good care of the car. It was her mechanic that sold me the car. It’s gold! My favorite color in cars. And it looks great. I took pics and will explain all important details like you said. You bring up two excellent points... you said, “people don’t mind working on these. In fact, they love to.” And, “fixing them doesn’t cost much”. The car is leaking water so I have to decide wether I should put the money info fixing it or explain and sell as is. However, you’re right! It is kinda nice that fixing it costs less than most cars. I didn’t mean to go on but I did mean to thank you for taking the time to give me advice in such a nice way. God bless you! I appreciate it so very much.
@@BlessedBaubles Glad to be of help!!! Are you sure you want to sell that car? You could enjoy no car payments for many many years. Who knows where things are going in thus world. These cars are built like tanks. You can feel how heavy the doors are. I'm fixing my car up here and there. I got like 96000 miles on my v8 engine. In my 50s and can't afford a car payment. Bought it for 2800 dollars. The best money I ever spent. The newer cars don't have heat or AC like these do. They take conventional oil instead of that synthetic junk. Some people have gotten 500000 miles on these cars. This is why they make great taxis!!!!! Are you sure you want to sell it? These are panther platforms and we'll they last and last. Check UA-cam and see how people put fun lights inside and make them so cool!!! Oh I'm from New Jersey😁😁😁😁but PA isn't far. I sew too lol. My sister made masks early on so I didn't have to. Small world. Do you ever watch Scotty the mechanic on UA-cam??? I love that man. He has a video praising the Mercury Grand Marquis. My car is 19 years old. I never thought I'd get such a good car that was that old but these cars break the rules. Crown Victorias too. I named my car Dreamboat and not a day goes by that I don't say I love my car. New cars are cheaply made. God knows where the car world is going. That leaking water you spoke of.... It might be condensation from using the air conditioner. You will see a puddle under your car after parking it and you had the a/c running. Is the liquid clear? Yellow? Get a white paper towel to see if it is clear. Touch the puddle. The AC will leave some water and nothing to worry about. Happens to all cars. If you need a new water pump...your car will be making a lot of noise and mechanics know the sound of that. What I love about these cars more than anything....the safety. You have so much metal around you. A massive hood...a massive trunk. If someone hits you... Chances are you will be ok. I went on eBay and bought new wheel covers....purchased the original car manual which was like new... Had to replace the plastic Grand Marquis emblem on the back. I do little things like that. Nice to meet you!!! Stay safe!!!! I love to sew just not much time 😒😰😰 p.s. God bless you too!
I love my memories!, I also remember the Borla exhaust video! I was one of the first viewers, every story you talk about is very entertaining all the time you bring up a true story this is the one the times are getting greater every time thanks
Absolutely my go to feel good UA-cam site! Thanks Kyle for the tour of a classic road car. The love for your grandparents shows through. Be well my friend!
Love your videos! Really glad to hear your relationship with your grandpa as I also am very close with my Grandpa Joe. He got me into cars and has a 2012 5.0 GT premium and the look on his face when I got him window Louvers was priceless! This is what it’s all about!!!
I just bought a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, in Feb.. Fully loaded, leather seats, and mint. 95,000 miles. All service records at the ford dealer every 3 months. I love this car.
Thank you Kyle for another thorough review of this wonderful car. I've been with your channel for 8 years now, watching from Munich, Germany. Keep up your passion and take good care of Papa Slim's car. I love how you value the memories of your papa. My grandfather also died last year and he was in many ways very similar to your papa :)
Awesome video Kyle!!! I lost my pops a year ago in January 2019, been a tough year. He lived in the UK so I couldn’t bring his car home to Canada, but I brought his new slippers he bought. I wear them all the time 😎😎
I daily drive a 1997 model. I am not a Ford fan but this one they got right. It has paid for itself many times over. It is comfortable, reliable and trunk is huge, it can tow a decent trailer, it is easy to work on and parts are cheap. The only downside is fuel mileage in town is only about 15-18 MPG with the 2.73 gears but on the highway it gets mid to high 20's. I can't think of a better cheap family car.
Hey Saabkyle04 Kudos!!! on keeping and taking care of the Big Merc. I owned a 2002 for 6 years and loved it. bought it with 60,000 miles and sold it with 205,000 miles. I now own a 2011 Towncar. The Panther Platform is Awesome!!!
Such classic cars, this the Crown Vic & the Town Car. Sorry for your grandpas passing. My grandpa passed away 4 years ago from congestive heart failure at also 94 years old.
Wow. I remember when you did the video when you got the exhaust done on this. It was a while ago. I still remember that specific car. Great car man that is one of my all time favorite cars. I took one from Philly to Florida. One of the best most comfortable rides i have ever taken. Rip to ur grandpa. I'll always remember his reaction to the new exhaust.
Nice, personal review Kyle. I literally just bought myself a 2004 Lincoln Town Car as my new daily driver! Near mint condition car with just under 50K miles, looking forward to enjoying it. Great to see the Mercury is doing well and you're enjoying it! Papa Slim is looking down with pride and his memory will live on!
Nice! How much were they asking? And can you show it on a video? If not no worries. Mine is a 03 grand marquis, 120,000miles. I got it with 108k for 2700
Man I feel like I’ve watched you grow up, I remember owning a MGM when you made the first video of your papa’s. Currently looking for another one after owning so many newer cars I just haven’t found any that has the character and intangibles that I fell in love with driving this boat around
We took one in in trade, think it was almost same year and everything just burgundy, I was surprised how loaded it was... anyway that thing was doing 100 on highway like nothing and w the air ride it felt like spaceship... awesome car
Car sounds fantastic. I’ve never really been into these cars but I sure respect them. They’re comfortable, very reliable, and they’re unique in today’s marketplace. It’s too bad that there isn’t anything like it today brand new.
Love it, especially when there's a sentiment connection! That's a Job 1 2003, which were manufactured August 2002 onwards. It has all the features of older vehicles - before Ford started decontenting - and then some; extended length overhead console, front pockets in the front seats, remote fuel door release, there's still a clock in the center of the dashboard, black B pillars, etc. My '01 is also Spruce Green, only with a Medium Parchment interior. Looking forward to more content!
I found your chanel when i was addicted to cold start video , around 2011 or 2013. And many many car you review eventhough im not living in US but its fascinating. RIP to your grandpa.
I remember the first video of this car.. Wow it's been 10 years already.. I was subscribed to you with my old youtube account.. This made me smile good memories
My first car at 16 was my dad's 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis. I loved that car it was a land yacht. I bought a 2011 Grand Marquis used in 2012 with a little over 20K miles on it. It now has 215K flawless miles on it and will be my sons first car.
What does mid trim mean? I’m about to sell mine and I’m looking for info because I don’t know much about cars but I do know this is a great car! Thanks.
vortex the town car is nicer but has more gadgets so more things to worry about, I daily drive a 04 town car ultimate with almost 300k miles and still strong but has backup sensors and motorized trunk opener and closer heated seats and rear air suspension

I really liked the video, but I liked even more what this car means to you emotionally. Seems pure and honest.
I love this bro. I remember that video too, great memories felt it from the heart.
Thank you so much 🙌
We rented one of these one, the main thing I noticed was the chair cushion was reeaaallly deep
Nice to see you still have and are taking good car of
Your grandfather’s Mercury. He’s looking down and smiling 😇
Saludos
I’ve learned something over the years.. the old folks seem to always have great taste in automobiles! Papa slim was one of those old folks, he bought a car from a brand gone by and he preserved that thing perfectly!
i love these cars! they'l last forever. i love my 2006 crown vic P71
man i love your videos I see them for years, clearly he was a great man in life and you are lucky to have him in your memory, I hope you never stop doing this
Great video!!
I remember my grandfather got his fathers 2000 marquis which ended up getting wrecked in 2014. I really miss that thing, it was so awesome to ride in.
They are great cars for sure
This video hits me right in the feels.... RIP Papa Slim
I remember watching the video where you put the exhaust on it I remember how tickled he was with it. I really enjoyed that video
Same! It's what got me interested into the channel
Great tribute Kyle, what a nice way to immortalize your grandfather. Keep that thing pristine! Cheers from Canada!
I’ve been meaning for this video for a very long time, I love this car.
RIP Papaslim.
That is awesome you still have papa’s car. I have my grandparents 1990 tbird that i love to drive and they gave it to me. I plan to keep it for years.
That is so cool!!
For you Kyle, I will always watch your ads to the end! Thank you for providing years of continued content that is intriguing and engaging.
I remember the first Grand Marquis video, the one about the exhaust
Me too! Liked it !
Thats the first video I think of when I see kyle
Man what a nice old Mercury. You hang on to this one Kyle. They not worth much now so keep it forever. U keep lovin on it and take care of it sure is special
That's an early release 03, so it'll have the metal timing tensioners that makes the timing set last 350,000-450,000 miles.
The early 03s have a white X with 3 dots above it on the front of the valve covers.
Excellent cars. I have an 03 Grand Marquis LS Ultimate with 325,000 miles and it's still strong!!
Great video!!
I have a 2001 MGM. Would this also apply to mine?
Sincerely Lavender
Wow! 😁 Wow! I like PA people!)
Anyway, yes, the title is very clean, only 1 owner before me and I’ve only had it one year.
Never get rid of that car man keep that thing forever. It's such a beautiful car and seems comfortable to drive!
I love my memories!, I also remember the Borla exhaust video! I was one of the first viewers, every story you talk about is very entertaining all the time you bring up a true story this is the one the times are getting greater every time thanks
That's right never ever ever give up that car always keep it for Papa ✊
Absolutely my go to feel good UA-cam site! Thanks Kyle for the tour of a classic road car. The love for your grandparents shows through. Be well my friend!
I’m not going to flat out say that this car is the reason I have a 2004 Grand Marquis, but I’ll definitely say it had a huge role in it becoming mine.
Love your videos! Really glad to hear your relationship with your grandpa as I also am very close with my Grandpa Joe. He got me into cars and has a 2012 5.0 GT premium and the look on his face when I got him window Louvers was priceless! This is what it’s all about!!!
I got a 98' the same color....im writing this comment from the front seat right now! I love it...👍👍
I just bought a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, in Feb..
What a great inspiration he was. Perfect tribute to the legend
I remember your older videos with it! A great car, and a great man!
Fantastic as always!
That is one nice looking Grand Marquis! I really like it so much.
the valet key basically just means that you can’t open the glovebox with it lol
it'll only work the driver door and ignition, it won't open the glovebox or trunk.
I got it with 108k for 2700
Man, I miss your videos on UA-cam, I really miss your reviews about old cars, have a wonderful day man ❤️
Thanks, you too!
Man I feel like I’ve watched you grow up, I remember owning a MGM when you made the first video of your papa’s. Currently looking for another one after owning so many newer cars I just haven’t found any that has the character and intangibles that I fell in love with driving this boat around
Love this video, we inherited my father-in-law's 2003 Grand Marquis when he passed away in 2013. It is now (his grandsons) my son's (19) daily driver
Ohh we miss Papa Slim. I remember how happy he was when you put the new exhaust on that Merc.
Great video, enjoyed it a lot. They don't make em like they used to. I hope you can keep this family heirloom for generations to come.
Grand Marquis, Crown Victoria and Town Car are the best! Their exterior and interior are beautiful, V8 sounds great!
I have a 06 Mercury Grand Marquis and I love it these cars are solid built and so smooth and comfortable on long road trips!
I feel like we all watched saabkyle grow up. Your papa slim was cool man. A real man.
I love the marquis!
My first car at 16 was my dad's 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis. I loved that car it was a land yacht. I bought a 2011 Grand Marquis used in 2012 with a little over 20K miles on it. It now has 215K flawless miles on it and will be my sons first car.
I remember Papa’s Grand Marquis from back in the day on your channel!
It may sound weird for most people, but a Grand Marquis is one of my dream cars. There's something about being the mid-trim and not a Lincoln
Mine too. I think that it can make commuting fun as hell
The licoln town car is all around nicer
What does mid trim mean? I’m about to sell mine and I’m looking for info because I don’t know much about cars but I do know this is a great car! Thanks.
@@BlessedBaubles mid-trim means that he is something between a Crown Victoria, and a Lincoln. So he is quite balanced.
vortex the town car is nicer but has more gadgets so more things to worry about, I daily drive a 04 town car ultimate with almost 300k miles and still strong but has backup sensors and motorized trunk opener and closer heated seats and rear air suspension
