- ***SOLD***Offered for sale is this gorgeous example of the rare and increasingly collectible Marauder sedan from Mercury, a 2003 model in Classic Black with Dove Gray Leather. This very low mileage car has had one owner since 2004, and remains in impeccable condition throughout. The exterior and interior are original, the polished wheels are in excellent shape, and the tires are freshly replaced. Power comes from an aluminum block 4.6 liter twin-overhead cam V8 from the Mustang Cobra through a 4-speed automatic transmission and in to a 3.55 limited slip differential. Amenities include power windows, power central locking, power heated mirrors, power locks, tilt, cruise, power adjustable pedals, power leather seats, AM/FM/CD, and more. Only 7838 of these cars were made in 2003, and just over 11K in total - they are widely predicted to become very collectible.

I own a 2004 silver birch with just over 49,000 miles and in mint condition. These were hands down the best panther platform cars built behind the Lincoln town car.
My '04 is a daily driver and has 206K plus and still going strong.

You are correct. Dark Pearl Blue available in 2003 only. 328 made. Dark Toreador Red available in 2004 only. 980 made. Black and silver available in both years.

I remember these cars which I think was a return of this car which didn't last long. I think I still have a brochure or video from manufacturer. This is like a Grand Marquis/Crown Victoria with an attitude which others will disagree.

I prefer the Grand Marquis or the Town Car version but this one is awesome
The 2V version of this car is the Crown Vic LX "sport". Comes with the monochromatic paint scheme, watt's link suspension, buckets and floor shifter, 17 inch wheels and factory duals and they were available back to 2001. Still want one today. The Marauder was kind of disappointing because it has like no low end power. I have driven all kinds of 4V cars and SUVS and the Marauder was by far the least snappy with regular driving. The Crown Vic sport is much more entertaining.
Not really if you have a LX sport like I do it is literally The Marauder before the marauder has the exact same centershift black leather interior mine is rear spoiler it looks just like a Marauder I think it's way better though less problems the marauder

I bought mine with 105K and love it and dont go to cosco and leave it,,,Best car ever for me in my life as far as sport and nice ride. Gave 9k and that was fine. Id sell it,,,but lot more than 9
The White leather is rare, they only made 125 of those. I don’t think this salesman knew what he had or we would have bought it himself.
Mom had Grand Marquis 2 door coupes 1979 and 1985, then 1994 four door and 2004..... Way better than the Buick Regal 74 and 77 (chevy eng.) , the occasional fwd Buick crap after..........she had.....always went back to grand marquis

Bill I'm building a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis GS into a Panther edition... SVT SUPERCHARGER ..... My Cousin ownes Ultra Auto Center in North Attleboro MA. And sold me the car in 2018 with 165k miles 1 owner( she was a 79yr old widow......) with a 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse GT Spyder with a busted tranny.....I paid 1500$.... I have over 3000$ in Brand new parts and equipment. Ball joints,4 New rotors and Pads, Water Pump, Alternator, battery, all engine pullys and belt tentioner and belt NEW,4 BRAND NEW TIRES,F150 SVT SUPERCHARGER..... After buying it in August 2018 the car went from 165k Mike's to 223+k Mike's..... LITERALY ALL HIGHWAY!!!! I use Lucas Oil Stabalizer with ever Oil change and high mileage synthetic oil ever 4k Mike's.... Installed a throttle body spacer, Ram air Intake, and Tunesport Performance Chip tune in the ECU..... GREAT CAR!!!!!👍 WANA BUY IT? ILL TRAILER IT UP TO MAINE IM WORKING IN CHARLOTTE NC.... DOES 1/8 MILE 7SEC AT 110MPH!!!!! TOTAL CREAM PUFF WHITE WITH GOLD TRIM ON THE BUMPERS AND DOORS. CROME PERFECT AND TAN SOFT CLOTH INTERIOR$

Mach 1/ cobra motor same thing but without the supercharger
I have had a 98 Lincoln Mark 8, an 04 Crown Victoria P71, and now a 2011 Crown Victoria P71. The 32 valve 4.6 is great WHEN it is running correctly. These motors are NOT reliable, and parts are very expensive. Mercury/Ford should have put a high performance 5.4 or a low boost 4.6 turbo in these cars. BTW: Your reviews are awesome.
It's supposed to be a 4.6L DOHC 32-valve engine in the standard Mercury Marquis, Lincoln Town Car, and Crown Victoria since 1998, and a 5.4L DOHC 4V engine in the Mercury Marauder. They had plenty of options to update this platform, but Ford for no apparent reason let these cars die. Without any updates.

i like it and I cannot understand why Mercury and Ford do not make smaller american cars for Europe. This Marauder in a lighter version could have sold in Europe in 2OO3. Do they ever listen to their custommers?

Crown Vic LX sport is very similar engine is different but interior is almost the same it has air bag suspension as well as some other things lot of people do not know about the LX sport VIC.. Marauders are one-of-a-kind though

Pretty much the same engine, minus different horsepower ratings over the years, but it's the 2003-04 Cobra Mustang with the supercharged engine that only came with the forged crankshaft. All other normally aspirated engines came with high nodular iron cranks.
