Owned a 2001 Town Car, and the first major issue was the air ride suspension, which was converted to coil over struts. Now, I own a 2008 GM (68k) and all these common issues remain true! My HVAC head unit has been giving me trouble, and it sometimes takes a while for the floor vents to fully open. The Panther Platform is still one of the most reliable vehicles on the road today next to a Toyota or Honda. Thanks for the video
Excellent review if I can there's a few other problems to check for, the notorious worn axle shafts / axle seal leaks on the full size Crown Vic/ grand marquis as well as manifold exhaust leaks. 2 piece steering shafts seizing up. Also the blend doors actuators seizing up. Other than that you're good. 👍
Personally all the ones I have serviced have not had problems with the EATC head. The blend door is notorious for failure. Either broken gears inside or just complete failure. Make sure to test function on even the replacement, for the latest oem motor from the dealer did not work at all.
For sure the intake manifold gaskets fail - I've purchased an intake from 1A Auto for two of my Grand Marquis over the past year, a 97 and an 04. Easy enough to replace. The 2004 had coolant in the #5 cylinder well that I found when replacing the spark plugs, and the 97 was loosing coolant somewhere. Found some dry coolant residue below the intake on the passenger side. When both were removed, the gasket and plastic between the water passage and the first port were broken. Well worth replacing before a total failure somewhere on the highway.
I must be blessed. 114K and nothing other than regular maintenance. How ever I did discover slow leak on different pinion seal. Will also replace u joints at same repair time.👍
1:28 F me, there is a lot more issues with the cooling system then just the termostat there. Coolant was never changed it seems. It needs a flush asap.
It is true,I have a merc.grand marquis 2005 and I had to repair the transmission, the intake as well and the thermostat, the lightning control module has some issues too
Blend door is a top problem. Pain to change, but usually the problem. Do eatc self test blend door problem will show up as code 024 and/or code 025. Changing the head will NOT fix that and is a major waste of money. Also if replacing rear air springs, use only Arnott A-2220 springs. Anything else and you'll be doing it again in a couple months. Forget TRQ parts.
I just watched your inner door panel remover on the Dodge ram 150 2001, Perfectly doneThanks it was a big help don't wanna tear an a** enough that's for sure
I'm having a missfire issue on cylinder 2 on a 05 grand marquis 4.6 and white smoke from exhaust car doesn't overheat but also noticed that when tank is under a quarter full cel doesn't flash but when I fill tank up over a quarter it will missfire and flash iv checked coil pack plug and injector changed em all out but now leaning towards intake manifold leaking it does smoke white from exhaust car has 81k miles. Any suggestions?
I like your video, Wonder if you can help me with a problem on my 2007 Marguis? Mine has started to over heat, but only when the A/C is running and no other time. I've replaced the thermostate and that didn't help. Any suggestion would surely be appreciated.
I have an 09 grand marquis and here’s the issues I’ve run into -coolant thermostat constantly fails -intake manifold fails -air ride suspension compressor constantly runs -engine runs cold when driving on highway -god awful squeak when going over bumps THIS CAR JUST Hit 93k miles.
i have a question: my brother and i disconnected both battery cables to replace the blender door motor, the only things that unplugged were the passenger air bag, security light on top of dash driver side and blend door actuator. all things worked prior to disconnecting and reconnecting or re - installing. Now this is what stopped working, (VASP) Variable assist power steering, Cruise control, electric windows, radio sound. Does anyone have as to what the common denominator ? all help is needed

The internal cabin temperature control can be rebuilt for less than 10 dollars by replacing the o rings inside. Saves a 100 in the long run
