Today was my 2nd day doing ring workouts and I want to do the muscle up so bad! only thing I can do unfortunately is the deep dips I can do them 4 times but I am having trouble holding the false grip and pulling the rings to me chest. I can do the pull up to chest on a bar no problem but my bar doesn't have enough room to go higher into a muscle up who knows maybe I could do it on that? I am currently building a Calisthenics park workout area in my yard its huge 14ftx20ft area with a 12ft tall by 8ft wide ring section and a 5ft high low bar and a 7ft high high bar area with dips I cant wait! I have been lifting weights in the gym for about 2 years now and am ready for this new journey in my life!

I've been training weighted ring dips for a while, but I've been neglecting my pull-up trianing, and I have basically never practiced false grip trianing. I'll follow these tips and let you know as soon as I achieve the ring muscle-up

That's some great advice. False grip is so hard at the start.
I found training just the transition with like feet (or toes) on the floor to be also super helpful for feeling the movement, which can be pretty tough. I did a couple of weeks of that, slowly progressing, in parallel with the strength training. At some point, transitioning to negatives was then the helpful next step.

Thank you. That’s probably the shortest but also the best tutorial. Most are talking about the false grip for ages. But barely touch the transition. I always felt like I need to pull just some cm higher and get my elbows closer. But couldn’t figure out how I should do it (execute the motion or train enough strength). Now I have some methods. But also knowing I need to push my chest up and pull my shoulders back might help.

Allright... my problem is clearly my pull ups, and I was aware it sucked. I wasn't aware of how HIGH a human could do a pull up. I was stunned to see the chest going up so much. I mean, even now I feel lost. How do you do that ?

My initial thought is that I lack good form and strength with false grip. In 2020 I had an injury that took 3 months to fully recover where I had a pinched nerve in the forearm and lost nerve control in my left ring finger which affected my guitar playing and made me hate false grip and not want to practice this move any more. But I think I need to condition my wrists more and I want to ease into it smarter, despite the fact that I was able to do false grip pull ups.

I literally did the ring muscle up the first time I tried. But after months haven't been able to do two in a row (I mean I never really focused on training specifically for it) My problem is when I descend from the first one, no matter what I lose the false grip. I don't know if it's a problem with my false grip strength or my lack of control while going down.
