Reminder: Once you transferred a website to your client, it will be gone from your workspace :D So duplicate it before the transfer, if you still want to have a copy in your workspace.
Thank you for this. It is simple yet precise! Would love to see if you can teach a short tutorial on how to export webflow if we want to host it on other hosting site like godaddy etc. 😊
You have to delete the domain from the old project and add it to the new. Maybe you also need to update the ip addresses in your DNS settings as well. But often they stay the same.
Especially if your client is new to Webflow: Make sure they don't book a site plan on a dummy website in advance. It's a bit of a pain to transfer the site plan from that dummy site to the actual website. Happened more than once to me.
Update: This topic has been solved by Webflow a while ago - you don't need the Webflow support anymore to transfer a site plan from one website to another ✌
@@designbasestudio Yea I think the client requires a workspace pro plan, which is crazy that they have to pay to receive a migration. Any other way? Such as I sending to it them, instead of them inviting me to their workspace? Edit: You can have a Freelancer plan and be invited to any client workspace, even if they're on the free plan.
Just watch the video to the End. He explains what you are asking for. They still need to share their account-details if you are to work on the site. Crazy thogh how much money webflow is cashing in for basic features like needing to work on the clients Website.....
@@designbasestudio can i add a site plan on the free workspace of my client, as soon as he invites me, and can i attach a custom domain in the clients workspace and can i send some link to the client were he can add his credit card info, for his siteplan, what is if i transfer a site with CMS items to a clients workspace with only a free plan?
Okay I've 2 questions 1. Do i need a paid Workspace plan to transfer the website to client? 2. Do my client need a paid Workspace plan to receive the website or to invite me?
I think you don’t need a payed workspace plan to transfer (but I can’t test it). But your client should have max two projects in his workspace because the free plan has a limit of three projects.
@@mask4436 Were you able to send to a client with the client having a free workspace only? I have a freelancer account, and I don't want the client to pay for a workspace just for the migration. Makes no sense.
@designbasestudio please create another video that shows the method if you're a Freelancer/agency (on a paid plan) transfering to a client (free workspace plan). It can be achieved by going into Site Setting and hitting the TINY transfer project icon. Remember to duplicate the project prior.
The person who made the site transferred it to my account, but I wonder if someone looking at my project with this link "Read-only Shareable Webflow Project (provide access to the read-only version of your Webflow project to allow for a comprehensive review.)" can recognize that this has been transferred to my account?

Actually never did it but it is indeed a good topic for a video!
Do you have advise on how to unpublish hosting from one webflow project and add the same domain to another Webflow project?

Siteplan tranfer is a good topic on a video!

So in order to do this - the client has to pay for their own workspace plan as well as their own hosting plan?
Didn’t try it with a free account but the transfer will work. Inviting you as a guest requires a payed workspace plan.
That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out today. Seems way too ridiculous if true
Just up your service pricing by including the cost of the webflow plan?🤔

Can you Invite members on a free workspace plan if you have paid site hosting?
i asked my self the same question
I am curious to know if serve as agency, can i still change the billing to the client as they prefer to have the billing under them?
If you transfer the project to another workspace you need to cancel any hosting plan before. Once transferred you need to book a new one.
Thanks@@designbasestudio

can i transfer a website with an site plan already attached, from one workspace to another workspace and take the site plan with me?
No but you will get credits for the plan but I am not 100% sure about this. You can get more info from the Webflow support
Hi, I was sent an ongoing workspace, but when I login, I cannot seem to see it. please let me know how to access the tranferred account..
You can be invited to a workspace but can’t send one. You can only send a project.

1. Do i need a paid Workspace plan to transfer the website to client?

@@designbasestudio okay got it but if the client need to invite me then I should have a paid plan
So technically I have to get a paid plan too
@@mask4436 it should be possible to transfer the project to your clients mail. But make a copy of the project before so it doesn't get lost :D

You're welcome
How much you charge for webflow project?
We only work with fix prices so hard to say...

You can turn the link of for any case. In the designer click on the share button in the top right for this
So they have to pay for a workspace AND a site plan? That’s crazy!
There is also a free workspace plan but I am not 100% sure if it has all the necessary features without looking it up...
No, a free workspace plan ist absolutely enough, as long the client buy his site plan soon.
@@privat-mensch To invite someone to a workspace they need a pro plan? As there will then be more than 1 user. Is there a free method?
It can be done for free if you have a paid workspace plan by going into site settings and hitting the transfer project icon.
you missed the most important step
That is?
