    Hi Alex, Thank you for these driver insructions .. it's just what I wanted.
    I'm a 13 HCap and my objective is to hit Driver consistently 200+ onto fairway everytime.
    Distance is not problem, I need accuracy.
    I found the key was correct set-up and to swinging the club in a relaxed tempo WIDE, LOOSE & SMOOTH.
    I was trying too hard and over-controlling, which lead to tension. I thought a shorter backswing and hitting harder would give me more control I needed, but it was too inconsistent. My drives were +/- 100yds dispersion from the target line, usually with a high slice. I often ended up OB or in the rough, which is a score-destroyer.
    Now, I'm hitting fairways consistently with +/- 20yds dispersion for majority of shots, with longer distances with less effort.
    Less is definetly more with the driver.

    yes i am a tension monster . 5 ft 6 in 220 54 inch chest construction worker , not flexible but strong . swing speed was around 100 with back swing slow and maxed out hands at 9 o clock . i have watched several of your videos and im going to give it a shot . i feel like pressing down into front leg will cause me contact problems . i have done stack and tilt which does not require weight shift and my contact got much better . now i watched a video from a woman golfer to see how they hit the ball so far yet are so small and she said they dont shift down and fwd but sit into legs to start down swing and the extend front leg . i have a bad slice i moved the ball fwd to hit more up on it and i think i moved it too far fwd . i moved my trail foot back from target line to help get in to out path and i can mostly hit them strait . i need more time to really find my swing . i think this might be the answer because of my flexibility issues . i had one drive that went almost 300 yards i cant tell you how . i usually hit like 230 to 250 with driver . my 8 iron im like 130 but im inconsistent frustrated for sure stack and tilt has helped me to hit a lot better but i am worried about adding more variables with transferring weight and getting clean contact .

    Thanks Alex, after applying these tips, I still struggled to get consistency. What I don’t hear instructers tell us enough is to also make sure the weight (through the hips) is mostly, if not almost all, forward. That really helped me get distance and consistency.

    Hi Alex just watched your video really like the content. I’ve been struggling for the past year out of nowhere I can’t hit my driver off the tee had a couple of lessons but nothing has worked. Keep hitting down into the ball it bounces off the ground then goes about 20 yards. I’m at the point now where I leave it at home. At the driving range I’m fine this is why I’m so frustrated.

    Alex, I enjoy your video's, very informative. My problem is I have injured my right shoulder but it is not severe enough to stop playing but unfortunately my game is suffering dramatically. I have NO height on my flight, developed a snap hook, also periodically my ball flies very high with no distance. I believe my swing is inside, low and my body is turning quickly. I am playing the worst golf I have every played and at one time a year ago, I was club champion, now I am club chump. If you have any suggestions I would gratefully appreciate it.....thank you

    I find tension kills my swing. My tempo at the start of the downswing Hass to be a slow as my take away or it feels like I’m jumping at the ball and I find that my contact is so much better even though the speed of my swing seems to feel so much slower almost like I’m not gonna hit the ball anywhere I think with me slow is smooth and smooth is fast what do you think ? does that make sense? I think with me it’s better to hit the ball square than to hit the ball hard I’d love to see a video on something like that. Thanks love your videos

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 роки тому

      Maybe do not think slow as much… gradual and the sequence of lower body and arms drop will give you time.
      Smooth and acceleration is great. But a key for speed is the arms speed from the top.

    On another video you talk about the importance of looking a couple of inches in front of the ball for irons. Would you do the same with driver? Or would you look at a spot on the ground a couple of inches behind the ball because the bottom of the swing is behind the ball with driver?

    I am totally relaxed when I hit perfect drives. I pretend I have a raw egg in each hand. I can't feel my arms, I turn my shoulders and feel weight in left right heel. I transfer my weight only to left foot and I dont consciously start my downswing. It happens on its own because my arms are so relaxed I couldn't stop them if I wanted to. When I pull this off I hit the sweet spot on slight upstroke. The ball goes max distance and straight. I let go confident that I am getting out of my own way. It wants to go straights and unless I twitch or put tension in the swing it will go straight. New clubs are very forgiving and designed to go straight. I dont even bother with a draw anymore.

    Two questions I have
    1. Are you intentionally hinging your wrists or are you doing this naturally?
    2. When do you start to swing fast, or increase max swing speed, within the downswing?

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 роки тому

      Hinge happens because of soft wrists and flow.
      Speed comes from handle moving down first and then letting it go with some turn
