Alex, this is everything any golfer needs. Understanding I must flow to the target while keeping the lead side and chest down and finishing with straight arms a few feet in front of the ball was like magic for me! I was mashing my irons, taking nice straight shallow divots just beyond the ball and consistently striking irons not just purely but almost perfectly. I heard a click and felt nothing, it was amazing. I looked up and the ball was already 50 yards away before I located it. If I may, I would add that you must commit totally to doing this. Don't hesitate or hold back, "trust". Let the energy flow through the ball to the target and stay down through the ball to a straight arm finish and the ball explodes off the club, absolutely astounding! Thank you my friend.

He is my favorite instructors on here. He speaks in easy to grasp bites size nuggets of info. Every time I go to the range or go to play I review one of these videos before I go out. not turning your shoulders or striking pure irons are 2 of my favorites.
I go out and stripe the ball after these! It's just AMAZING GREAT instruction! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I wish I'd found these videos about four years ago. I was getting close to a 15 handicap...my swing had flaws, but I at least had consistent swing thoughts. I found some golf coaching vids on here that improved my driver swing massively (added close to 30 yards right away), so I started watching more...a LOT more. Fell down the rabbit hole. Got so much information that I started second-guessing EVERYTHING about all of my swings. Dropped to worse than a thirty handicap and I've been struggling to get back to where I was ever since.
Simplicity is something I really need. So much of what I've seen in the couple of your videos I've seen is saying the same things, in terms of swing thoughts (like "Release at your target") that I was using before I binged all those other videos. Looking forward to getting some simple instructions that will cut down on my second-guessing.

Well that sucks. Unfortunately it happens to many many golfers. Maybe that helps console you ;) the thing is, you have seen the light as it were. That you know your swing and style.. it’s just keeping it natural and simple with guardrails and principles. Ones that you can remember and apply easily.
I’m sure we can help you here and when ready, in our Online Club or programs too:)

I focused primarily on just looking one inch in front of the ball, and it resulted in the purest iron contact I've ever had the last time I played. Still incorporating more flow and working through old bad habits, but it was so encouraging to finally make great contact with my irons. Thanks!

Ok, I stopped the video and went out in the back yard and tried tip one and I was immediately hitting ahead of the ball and following through!!! I’ll try this at the range with a ball!!! :)). Geoff

150% the best golf Instructor i've seen on here. Once upon a time i was a 5 handicapper and fairly decent at nurdling a golf ball around a course. Now i hit at the ball so hard I develop strain in my forearm like a tennis elbow. This brought me back to collecting the ball and completing my swing. Fantastic instruction and easy to do

Your description of hitting down on the ball fit me perfectly. I tried your method of focusing one or two inches before the ball and had my best game in over two years. I hit through the ball and got great height and distance with my irons and driver. Now I will try to refine that method with each club.

This is a great video. Especially in combination with your “Simple Drills for an Effortless Swing”.
I’m a decent player (3-5 hcp). Strike the ball pretty well. But I’ve been fighting a bit of a sway through my downswing. Which I think is costing me some distance.
The chest move in this video really “clicked” for me. Really eager to put in some more work with these drills. But initial comparison on camera after a short while has me really happy.

Hi Alex, a very good instructional video, and resonates exactly with my main faults. I hit a good drive, and then either fat or thin the ball when hitting my irons.
I’ll definitely follow your 3 steps, when next at the range.
Very simple guides to follow, as the site name implies.
    Thanks

@@TheArtofSimpleGolf Hi Alex, just to update you, I played a new course today, but haven’t had the opportunity to practice the instructional tips in your video. However, I decided to incorporate the instruction during my round, and shot 5 under par which for me was unheard of on a course I’ve never played before. I struck most of my iron shots cleanly compressing the ball like never before.
Hopefully this is the start of some better golf scores in future.
      Thanks John

Alex. Just come across this video and completely agree with you. I was instructed some time ago to look two to three inches in front of the ball and my golf shots began to improve immensely. I actual use the Jim Venetos method of swing and it works just the same for me.I am sure this video will greatly assist those golfers who have problems making good contact with the ball. This method ensures ball then turf and results in good contact at all times. Great instruction thank you.

Just wanted to pass this along. I recently had two back surgeries and I'm just now getting back to the course. I have really been on the struggle bus with my irons. Hitting that dreaded weak leaker fade and losing distance. I watched one of your videos about the hips and drifting them towards the target right before the downswing starts and I pured my irons all day yesterday with a five yard draw. Best I had played since coming back was 85 due mainly to being hot with putter. Yesterday shot the easiest 79 I have ever shot. Thank you so much for these simplified instructions.

Yes it resonates! When I’m playing bad my swing is more of a V shape than an arc. Problem is being able to fix it when I’m playing and reset.

I've been struggling with my irons this year and this is going to help I'm sure. I have been trying to get the feeling that I'm shortening my back swing and lengthening my following through and turning to the target. The trouble is when you revert back to old habits when on the course!!

Hi Alex. I'm so proud of myself lol. Just tonight I was illustrating to my student who was struggling hitting the ball, your first tip (#1)to concentrate on a mark IN FRONT of the ball and if he hits it, the ball will get in the way. I put a little leaf in front and told him to hit the leaf. (He did) Thanks for verifying my advice :) onward to tip#2!

The best tip I ever had on swinging through, or perhaps just the overall best golf tip was from my brother, who hadn't been playing long. He said "I get it, you have to feel the weight at the bottom of your swing, you have to have relaxed wrists and feel the force of the club pulling on your hands like in a practice swing". That was an AHA moment for me and I make sure I feel that, even in pitches etc. You have lag, and you're not steering or buckling your arms....you can't or you don't feel the weight with relaxed hands/wrists.

New sub here! This video is really thorough and well done! The way I tried to not focus on the ball was to make the club have a woosh sound for driver, and make a sound as it clips/cuts the grass for irons. but I really like the way you should the proper movements. very valuable video. :)
