Suzuki made the Gen 3 'Busa for people like me, someone who didn't like the previous body style but wanted a new Hayabusa that looked better but was as close to the original formula as possible. I mean, they even kept the analog gauges. They changed hundreds of engine parts, but it's the same engine. They built it with a Japanese mentality, and left a strong canvas for the aftermarket. It's like I willed this bike into existence. I have a ZX-10R, so I don't care that it doesn't come with 180...much less 200 horsepower to the wheels. The Gen 3 is the best bike I've owned or ridden. Yeah, it's not the fastest thing I've ridden, but no literbike feels like the Gen 3 'Busa the way it thrusts forward with such urgency. Speed and horsepower isn't everything. The power delivery and feel of the bike matters more to me.
And the engine comes with forged internals. It’s literally built from the factory to be turbo friendly, for the people that just gotta push 300+ horsepower. lol
I can't pick a favorite generation of the Hayabusa. That's like picking your favorite child. I have a gen 1, gen 2, gen 3, and another turbo gen 1. Each one has its own personality. You won't understand the differences between them, unless you are routinely switching back and forth between all of them. I love them equally and enjoy their different qualities.
Gen 1 is definitely the most iconic but Gen3 is by far the best riding of them when I got my new 1 I had to sell 1 so I sold my Gen2 not because I didn't love it but it was highest mileage with 22K my Gen1 only have 1900miles on it I got it off a little old man and it's not leaving but idk I just think the 3 in the experience of actually riding the bike and being comfortable on it is just all the way there
In my opinion, the gen 1 handels the corners the best and is more filickable than the rest. The gen 3 is definitely more agile than the gen two. There's just something about the gen 1 that dives into corners easier and holds it better. I have a lot more confidence riding the gen 1 hard through the twisties. I daily ride the Utah mountains and canyons.
I own a 2023 Hayabusa Black and Copper to me it's more about the new technology and aerodynamic that I appreciate 😎 at 59 years of age it's all i need 💯😎
Just found your channel 🤘. Have been watching all your videos for the last 2 days lol. Love the content, your positive attitude, and all the insight you provide! Keep up the great work. Oh and the new mic works very well 😁
It should pop, thats natural. Gen 1 and Gen 3 have the best look. I think gen 3 must be one of the best bike out there. I drive my Gen1 turbo until I can afford a Gen 3
I have a gen 1 that I bought new it has been modified last time on dino was 192hp .I haven't ride it for over 2 years it starts every time .love your videos keep going
I just bought a 2023 Gen 3 before Thanksgiving. Research I did showed them equal except for the electronics, so i went for Gen 3. that tipped the scales for me. under 400 miles and loving it. took it on a 4hr, 300 mile round trip, cruise control made it comfortable. my 2022 Zero SR/S electric is my 100 mile commuter bike and Busa is my sport touring bike. the Zero with its 150ft-lb torque is faster, but Busa has legs.
My dream bike is a "busa"! But, I'm 77 and don't know if there's time for the dream to come true. I had wanted to restore a salvaged one, paint it Ferrari red, and scribe "Widow Maker" on the tank!
There's a guy we know Bud. Around your age has a gen 2 pushing 388 HP. Ex drag racer takes the Busa out from time to time gets his runs in & goes back home. He can't do distance, his hips but he still does it.
Old school forever i have gen 1 Busa 2006 bought new still running great 11,000 original miles stretched and chromed old school forever bro God bless everyone ride safe.
So I have a new 2022 Black Hayabusa still all stock ,I am having a REALY good time riding Her ,at 74 I don’t need extra horsepower, the torque in mid range is great . The only down side Is the weight when pushing her in and out of the garage ,so I am losing weight already down From 275 to 217 I’ll be happy at 170 😊🦅🇺🇸🦅🏍
Gen 3 busa is a disappointment in the engine department, should of been a 1441 with 200hp to the rear tire stock and then let the aftermarket unlock the other 20hp with a flash. As far as looks go, the front and side panels look great but looking at it from the rear it resembles an old 90's RF 1100...Haha. The electronics are an obvious upgrade but you didn't need them on the Gen2 so not really a a big deal, now if Suzuki gave you some hp to harness then the electronics would of been more relevant....personally I'd buy a Gen 2 and save a bundle of cash, still great looking, same hp, frame and geometry is unchanged, not much difference in the suspension department and you can take the 💰 saved from not buying a Gen3 and build yourself a 1441....done...lol
I have also I the 2023 Gen 3 ! I just turned over 5,200 mile on it .. I’m 48 and I’m just a casual rider that likes to Stretch it Out Every NOW and THEN .. I’ll leave that Street Racing / Track Day Stuff to the Younger Generation !! Be Safe Out There Riders !! 🙏🏽
More Mafia let me just say I love your videos I watch it all the time I'm a huge fan your microphone love it I keep you clearly word for word is Chris it is sharp don't change nothing to be honest I do not like the pops in the bag I like a smooth bike Gen 2 or gen 1 for me
The extra cost is all about the electronics. To me, the Gen 3 would be the way to go given the cruise control, lean sensitive ABS, rider modes, etc. If there is one mistake that was made, it was that Suzuki keep the name GSX-R Hayabusa. The reason for comment is that insurance companies will group the Gen 3 with the older models which means insurance rates will continue to be high. Had Suzuki re-named the bike, insurance companies would have looked at this bike as a separate model. Given the substantially higher cost, one can predict that fewer incidents would occur and thus support lower premiums (at least here in Canada). A good example of this is comparing GSX-R1000, ZX10, R1 t o Ducati/BMW. Both the Ducati and BMW are cheaper to insure as they have cater to a different clientele but have similar performance. Again here in Canada, the Japanese 1000 normal insures for about $1500-2500 a year while the Du/BMW insure for about $800-1500 (based on rider age, experience and training).
I'm one of the few that actually prefer the Gen 1. Sure, they're down on power when you compare them to gen 2 and 3, stock motor vs stock motor......but who stays stock??
You aren't the only one.. I will never get rid of my 07 gen1 busa. Love being more at one with my machine without all the electronics, and can't get over the ugly tail on gen 2 and 3.
Agree...I've ridden all of the generations regularly but still prefer the gen1..it's just simple and easier to ride. The other generations are great bikes no doubt.
Hi Chris, Personally, I like the Gen 2 by a landslide. I don't like all of the electronics of the new Gen 3. Also, with the right modifications I still like the looks of the Gen 2. As for electric bikes, I would never buy one, if I can't listen to the bitchin sound of my Brock's performance exhaust system, I'll ride a bicycle. We all know how fast the Tesla plaid is, this is proof that soon the fuel powered bikes won't be as fast but I'd still rather fill-er-up with gas any day. Thanks to you, my Gen 2 scares the heck out of me, I can't and won't ever be able to ride it to it's full potential anyway. Now, as far as the pops in the exhaust tune, I prefer no pops. Thank you for another great video, as always, much appreciated!
Electric bikes will never carry forward the spirit of pistons, cams and valves in so far as how it stirs the soul and the passion of high performance motorcycles. As far as the generations go... the Gen 1 IMHO is still the best appearing generation based on how the lines are smoother and how many world records it broke in the 1st 8 years of production. A Gen 2 motor in a Gen 1 chassis with Gen 2 forks and other upgrades would be my personal choice to build. AWESOME channel Chris !!
My Hayabusa 2008 has standard 175 hp at the rear wheel and 145 Nm. The only things that has changed, Akrapovic exhaust, KN air filter and G-pack. Now it has 188 hp at the rear wheel and 160 Nm.
Very good video Chris. By the time I can get back down your way to get an exhaust and tune on my new 2023 Busa it will have a few thousand miles on it so it might settle the apples to apples comparison question.
With two different Gens there's show so little difference you could easily take two bikes of the same Gen, equipped and tuned so they are as identical as possible and get similar results. For a buyer is comes down to preferences and cash. Personally, I still prefer the Gen I's. The Gen 2 and 3's are a bit more potent, they ride, handle, and brake a bit better, but not so much that one would really notice the differences until riding in a way that pretty much equates to tarmac madness. I've got a Gen 1 because I like the looks much more. And I don't ride it enough, or crazy enough to justify an upgrade. It has the basic minor modes, pipe, filter and tune, but nothing else that would impact power output. I bought it new back in 2002, and it has a little over 6K on the clock. It sits a lot. My rides are typically on the short side, and maybe two or three times I've really stretched it's legs. It has seen 140 and 150 many times - maybe twice during each riding season. Of course that only happens during the wee hours of the morning when I'm pretty much the only vehicle on the road. All in all, each Gen of the Hayabusa has proven extraordinary motorcycles. They aren't necessarily the baddest out there, but they haven't an ounce of shame in their games, either.
Audio is perfect. Secondly... So many guys on FB/forums hating on the gen 3 and this video proves they're neck and neck with a similar set up. A couple lbs of torque and 2 hp is laughable for those calling gen 3 trash. Plus we get cruise control and the other electronic goodies.
I have a gen 2 2020 hayabusa you have 1600 miles stock exhaust headers, I took the mufflers off when I got it like that I would like to have it tune by sending a PCM out to you
I love the vid! 2020 didnt offer the silver and red thats a 2019. I have one and its flashed by you! Mine has a few more ponies with the shorty velocity stacks, sprint filter and ceramic wheel bearings. Dynoed here in Cali 196 rwhp 118 ft lbs torque. Still need to try it on B mode and MR12! should make over 200hp. What I think about the Gen 3 Busa is not very good. Ive seen alot of negative stuff on the 21+22 models. People are selling them fast. Plus for that much money Suzuki should have upgraded the motor. Honestly the Gen1 is the best for racing. Gen 3 NOT WORTH DOUBLE THE PRICE OF A GEN 2.
Value for money it's the gen 2, for looks and way it feels, it's the gen 3. Chris, could you overlay a gsxr1000 with a Busa to show everyone - the torque difference below 10,000 revs is massive and you feel that when you ride the two - flat out the 1000 wins every time though....power to weight does that 🙂👍
I’m actually looking forward to getting a gen 3 Busa, I want the electronics and quickshifter. Only thing I’m unhappy with about the Busa is not having auto canceling blinkers.
Had an 04, then the 08. The 2004 was more comfortable and the 2008 had more flash to it. Speed wise the same. Absolutely solid and somewhat forgiving bike.
If I remember right??? My friend who also is a Moore & looks related to Chris. Before he went turbo worked his way up the food chain in SoCal. His 08 w k&n, stretch/ lowered, Brock's alien head, degreed cam did 197 HP. Fuel not sure. Anyways not looking forward to the Jetsons days
I’m posting another comment. I went to get back on the busa, a 2023 or 2024, and I couldn’t get comfortable. I went to my local dealer and they didn’t carry a Hayabusa, but did have a leftover 2023 Kawasaki ZX14r abs, and so far, I’ve traveled 2500 miles, melted a tire so far. The ZX14r pulls harder than the busa , I was surprised. I do miss my Hayabusa tho, such a nice, clean bike. I need my ZX14r dyno tuned. The factory clutch sucks too.
Newsflash: Internal combustible engines are here to stay. Porsche racing series are using environmentally sustainable fuel in their race cars now. In fact we'll be able to use that same fuel without any modifications to our current ICE. Awesome stuff!
no pops please , not needed. Nice vid Chris! Electric will walk combustion its just a fact but it will be a while. ICE will still not need the charge but will cost ya more to operate, i am interested in it but love ICE and my H2 SX SE
I personally love the pops and bangs. I have a 2018 Busa and want to have my ECU flashed. Unfortunately, I can't have it done here in Japan because I've stretched it and it's too long for the Dyno machines here
I'm disappointed that the new Gixxer 1000 makes more power than the Busa's. The Busa has a little more torque. But not enough to warrant all that weight that comes with it.
Back in 06 I bought new Gixxer 1000 and would out pull busa’s weight to power ratio they always seemed better to me at least from my experience. That said my bike was very strong from the factory and not all are equal as we would hope
The way everything is going you need to start looking into how to tune the electric bikes frfr if you can get an electric bike and figure out how it works and make it perform better than you'll be the guy for the electric tunes 💯
Gen2. Makes sense that they are toe to toe. But like the ovreall looks of the Gen2 better. having said that, I think we need to clarify what Suzuki did exactly to the Gen3 from Gen2. I know a big part of it was to get back into the Euro market with stricter emissions control. So my comment to Chris, would be nice to see the unrestricted versions tested against each other. In my opinion the Gen3 should squeek thru as the leader....should, but I wouldn't bet on it. Lets dig deeper Chris, your the Suzuki guy :)
I have both motorcycles, fossil fuel burning crotch rockets (H2 SXSE+ and Ninja 650) and an electric and I think each has it’s own niche to fill. The electric has no range per se, ~150mi in the city and ~80 @ highway speeds and is dependent on finding charging stations before you end up stranded with a dead battery. As a runabout in the city, with plenty of free charging stations scattered at a lot of the shopping venues, the battery bike is great; but on the open road, the gassers rule. They can go farther, faster, and can get fuel from roadside assistance trucks whereas the EverReady bikes can’t…unless those trucks have generators and you’re carrying the appropriate charging CABLES. Anyway, I like my 110hp/140lbft DuraCell-powered bike; it’s great for the twisty roads where I live, the torque out of the turns is scary fast, and I hardly ever use my brakes with a great regen system on the bike into the turns. To each his own I guess.
Suzuki made the Gen 3 'Busa for people like me, someone who didn't like the previous body style but wanted a new Hayabusa that looked better but was as close to the original formula as possible.

Yes, well put.

Gen 1 no snap crakkle pop for me! A busa is a busa ! Cool as hell no matter how u look at it ! Love em! 😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I can't pick a favorite generation of the Hayabusa. That's like picking your favorite child. I have a gen 1, gen 2, gen 3, and another turbo gen 1. Each one has its own personality. Which Gen handles corners best?
@@joshuakelley2345 3 for me I own a gen 1 and 3 but have owned a Gen 2 IMHO the 3 is the best riding

Mics sounding great Chris. Bike has no distortion and your voice is crystal clear, no tin sounds either. 👌🏼
Gen 2 Busa is the greatest of all time. G.O.A.T🐐
I own a 2023 Hayabusa Black and Copper to me it's more about the new technology and aerodynamic that I appreciate 😎 at 59 years of age it's all i need 💯😎
Def like the popping and bangin on power off/overrun
Video sounded great! Bike appears to be tuned absolutely perfect from the graph...nice! Thanks again!!
I just picked up my 2019 in the silver color with 850 miles, M4 slipons with Chris's tune.......I think I made a great decision!!!
A future of electric motorcycles sounds dull as hell.
I have a gen 1 that I bought new it has been modified last time on dino was 192hp .I haven't ride it for over 2 years it starts every time .love your videos keep going
Some good numbers & the torque is probably crazy!!!
Gen 2 all the way. No brainer for spares, accessories and overall cost. Just as quick as a gen 3, quicker for less money.
I learned form old school tuners so to me pops and bangs sound like it’s not running right but just a little crackle sounds sexy
Hey Chris have you ever tuned a zx12r?
My dream bike is a "busa"! But, I'm 77 and don't know if there's time for the dream to come true. I had wanted to restore a salvaged one, paint it Ferrari red, and scribe "Widow Maker" on the tank!

Pops and bangs all day!!!! Glad you've narrowed down the talking points to a minimum and gave us more moto
i think when the mic is behind the bike it gets bad but infront of the bike brother it sounds great!
I like the pops on tap, when you crack the throttle and pops ensue.
Old school forever i have gen 1 Busa 2006 bought new still running great 11,000 original miles stretched and chromed old school forever bro God bless everyone ride safe.
So I have a new 2022 Black Hayabusa still all stock ,I am having a REALY good time riding
Her ,at 74 I don’t need extra horsepower, the torque in mid range is great . The only down side
Is the weight when pushing her in and out of the garage ,so I am losing weight already down
From 275 to 217 I’ll be happy at 170 😊🦅🇺🇸🦅🏍
I don't push mine since dropping her on day 1 pushing into the garage up a half foot slope. 😅
Can you let us hear the popping in the exhaust comparison
Congrats on the big win
I like my Gen 2 Busa, but with the RCC stage 1 Turbo Kit installed makes it that much more enjoyable yet to ride.

what tyre is that wearing? michelin power 5? ty
Love when you do true "apples to apples" comparisons. Would love to see a stock Gen 2 vs. Stock Gen 3. Have you ever done baseline pulls on both?
The gen 1 was the beast
Due to Euro specs in stock form the Gen II makes more power (HP and Torque), The gen III has three cats on it. 8
The extra cost is all about the electronics. I pay $500 a year for my Hayabusa in Alberta, the same price I pay for my wife’s R3 so I think you should maybe shop around.
My insurance is $28.00 per month full coverage
If electric bikes are the future, the future is grim.
Not gonna hold my breath. Only disturbance forward will be more ridiculous 'environmentalist' restrictions to ICE for bikes.
Thank you so much for this.

Looking at getting a gen 3 busa. I used to drive zx10r but it killed my back. Busa seems to be a nice bridge between supersport and comfort
Hi Chris,

How much range do you think an electric bike that would challenge performance of a BUSA would do? Perhaps 20 miles ...
The new mic is legit I like it
This is the best of both worlds for mic quality
Electric bikes will never carry forward the spirit of pistons, cams and valves in so far as how it stirs the soul and the passion of high performance motorcycles.

Transparent. Just proved that the mail in ECU flash is spot on with a little tweak in the air fuel mixture. Performance perfection. 👍
Very good video Chris. By the time I can get back down your way to get an exhaust and tune on my new 2023 Busa it will have a few thousand miles on it so it might settle the apples to apples comparison question.
better with out dyno running but still able to hear you fine while dyno working
I think you can test 10 bikes all the same and get much different results from best to worst.

Exactly what my gen2 put down with a pipe and filter
Gen 2 just looks better. Such a classic iconic style
Also the gauges. Analog, no LEDs i have a feeling for that.
What's the brocks exhaust system for my 2019 Hayabusa I like the same one

I’m actually looking forward to getting a gen 3 Busa, I want the electronics and quickshifter. Only thing I’m unhappy with about the Busa is not having auto canceling blinkers.
Had an 04, then the 08. The 2004 was more comfortable and the 2008 had more flash to it. Speed wise the same. Absolutely solid and somewhat forgiving bike.
Is good to sound clean, but when it makes that pop noise it sounds really cool 😎
Whatever makes the fastest pass and is the most fun to ride, then I personally don’t care what the powertrain is!
Why don’t you do a test to see which sidewinder makes the most horsepower On a Hayabusa GEN two and GEN three.
Can you do a tune with a little bit of popping ?
got to have those decel pops!
No pops and bangs for me. I bought a 2023 White/Blue Only 35 miles on it due to weather.
Sounds awesome 👍👍👍
Audio is good, big difference :)
ICE will still not need the charge but will cost ya more to operate, i am interested in it but love ICE and my H2 SX SE
lol 😂 “ I Also Have the 2023 Gen 3 “. … I haven’t had my Coffee Yet ! LMAO 😂
With that power, what sprocket size will you use with factory swingarm street/strip
The mic is dope with the ECU flashing do not like to pop it
Gen 2 Kings Stand Up. 🫡👑
Here
I personally love the pops and bangs. I have a 2018 Busa and want to have my ECU flashed. Unfortunately, I can't have it done here in Japan because I've stretched it and it's too long for the Dyno machines here
Send the Ecu out lol
@@NudaMan that's my plan. I'll send it in to Chris as soon as I parked the bike for the winter.
@@big_mon1 mannnn please do, once I get a R1M, I’m asking Chris to give me the burble tune 👌🏾
@@NudaMan most definitely
Can I ask what penta carbon is mate?. Lol just black carbon?.
Weird that 2020 has the 2019 paint . The 2020 has a darker smoked grey look. Honestly wish I waited and got it. My 2019 just rolled over 43000kms.
The 1300’s are just ready for more power. They can make 280? Stock with a turbo kit without opening up the engine.
@@Nitrous_Busa id agree the extra displacement is much more responsive to boost
@@Nitrous_Busa the average rider can't afford a turbo and the bike
@@walk4348 well the busa is 23k after taxes. Sure that 3k is obtainable for a kit
I have the 2019. How can I get Dino tuned and flashed?
2005 and a 2006 Gen 1, Both dyno at 199-200 hp. Y'all can have the new fangled slower bikes!
🙄
What's the mods
The way everything is going you need to start looking into how to tune the electric bikes frfr if you can get an electric bike and figure out how it works and make it perform better than you'll be the guy for the electric tunes 💯
BUSA GEN 2 LEGEND 👊🚀👍👉🤟💥🤘☝💫Chris, Krispy microphones 🎤🤘
Every Busa is worth their money
Prefer Gen2 but Gen3 is great with electronics and cruise control
I have a '85 Dodge Aries K
I like it and clean no popping.
what's that high pitch wine noise ?
Gen 3 if you want new bike, gen 2 if you can find in good shape with low mileage for reasonable price 😉
No pops and bangs , isn’t that bad for the motor ??
What would happen if you made a dyno pull in 2 or 3rd???
Did they both have 500rpm added up top with tune?
Hello, how much do you charge for tuning For a Suzuki Boulevard M109R 2022
All the info is on our website.

Gen2 Bayee beee and the pops n bangs 🤘
I need real tune on my gen busa
The Dyno calculates HP based off how much torque. HP is a calculated figure
I'm watching on 70in. Samsung tv and surround sound. This Mic is not as goid as the other one and has more white noise/static.
