- Perhaps one of the most underrated villains within Dragon Ball, Garlic Jr. is one of the craziest characters in terms of potential. The first movie villain for the Z era, is by no means a pushover. Watch as we unfold the true depths of his demonic powers.

Q: Why didn’t you bring up Garlic Jr’s father?
A: I just couldn’t be bothered to talk about his father since outside of his motive, I didn’t like how it ruined the flow of the video when writing the script.
Q: So, is the Anime adventure Role-Playing Guidebook a valid source?
A: Ehhh, debatable. Although yes, the entire book was written specifically for game mechanics, most of the lore for its characters and cosmology were all written to correlate to the anime continuity. This was why I didn’t heavily prioritize its usage for the video, as it was only meant to give viewers more options to justify Garlic jr’s lore and as an interesting obscure fun fact.
Q: Does Garlic Jr’s power-ups correlate to his power level?
A: Also Debatable. Most guides usually confirm forms like ssj1 being 50x for BATTLE POWER but not just strength. Hence, I didn’t go overboard, trying to stack each multiplier and make him reach levels I’m sure people won’t agree on. As such, I merely state his super form is a power boost as a lowballed stat argument.
Q: Why didn’t you calc the dead zone to that of a Black Hole?
A: since there is no frame of reference I can use to figure out its questionable size, as well as the already debatable explanation of the dead zone, It’s therefore un-quantifiable.
Q: how strong is King of Destruction Garlic Jr?
A: Due to the convolution of heroes scaling and canon, I didn’t want to speculate how strong he could be when there is very little proof he does scale to the Heroes' cast. So I decide to throw him a bone and speculate how strong he could be if he was given said form within the anime.

I mean, the afterlife is a separate space time that transcends the living universe by dimensions, so ss3 goku and buu lore wise could already make universe 7 go poof in a short period of time (kaioshin realm included obviously), and this is before buu copies instant transmission, so fusion saga characters are already unironically going to swat away the hyperspace even if he can manage to get it out
yet ssj3 is over 4x the battle power of ssj2 XD

When I was a kid, I always thought Garlic Jr. was Pilaf's brother or something. Also thought I missed a prior movie or early DB episode because the lore between his father and Kami seemed to big to not have been an episode.

The most funny thing is, is that Garlic Jr. can actually kill every person in the universe, probably except Moro, simply due to his immortality alone. If he never opens the Dead Zone, in every battle he fights, yeah, he'd get curb stomped, but Garlic Jr's immortality renders him unable to suffer from fatigue. Eventually, all of his opponents would wear themselves down and since Garlic Jr has proven he can perform incredible feats of power, he can kill them. There is also the option of just allowing his opponents to tire themselves out so much before he opens the dead zone on them as well. #17 and #18 are p much the only exceptions given that they do not suffer from fatigue or energy loss. If Garlic Jr could get stronger with every injury he took, he'd be insanely OP.
If they would be strong enough to swat him away like a fly how long do u think it would take them to tire out while fighting garlic jr

I think the easiest way to put Garlic Jr's Deadzone feat is:
A hax feat. Garou was able to enter and manipulate a Hyperspace, yet his APT at high ball is small Galaxy level, far below what would be needed.
Garlic Jr. likely is similar. Ki works in varied ways, so it IS most likely a feat, but just a hax one vs something like DBS Broly, where Gogeta and Broly create an entire 4D Pocket Dimension before proceeding to destroy it with raw APT.

@@jhevgainz2307 stated a super dimesion/super dimensional and the directors used mathematical formulas to make it look 3d, its like the interstellar black hole. Super dimensional also means cho jigen which means beyond dimensions and is greater than ko jigen which means higher dimensions.

Tempting, but the reason Garlic Jr escaped the Dead Zone the first time was thanks to the Makyo Star giving him a power boost. Gohan blew said star/rogue planet to smithereens. Unless he finds another way to escape, Garlic's trapped for good this time.

As I exist as the sole Garlic Jr. fan where he's my favorite villain from the movies, any video about him that shows him modicum of respect gets an immediate like and subscribe.

I feel like the Dead Zone is just a portal he can open that he prides himself on having a bit too much. This is the biggest example of a movie breaking power scaling I can think of, and if he did have 4D attack potency (lol) he wouldn't need to rely on using the Dead Zone as a trump card.
This happens in the movies quite a bit because they are alternative timelines that often come out before the anime even introduces the next thing. Hell characters like Broly and Hatchiyack are way too powerful for the time period they take place in, Broly was destroying the Southern Quadrant at such a fast rate during the movie that King Kai was worried about his Quadrant and that was Restricted State Broly. Shit Hatchiyack literally warped an entire Quadrant with his energy and yet these guys are being fought by Cell Games Z Fighters who wouldn't even be Solar System level because they don't scale to SPC or SSJ2 Gohan...
Same thing happens with Fusion Reborn which can be extremely wanked.

@@teeboz6237 Yeah a Movie timeline SSJ2 would already scale above Galaxy level where as in the Main Manga/Anime timeline Galaxy level isn't reached Until SSJ3 and up, so a movie SSJ3 Goku and Gotenks or Mystic Gohan would probably shit on Vegito and Buuhan from the main timeline 😂

Well he is a movie villain so he could be unbelievably more powerful than the regular at the time like Broly and Janemba and Hirudigarn, but I doubt he'd be above Planet level myself, but I do agree with a lot mentioned and this could be a really unique way of looking at the character.

The easy explination for the Dead Zone is that its magic powered by Ki. That lets him have it without throwing everything else out of whack.

I think I'll point to Garlic Jr as an example of how ridiculous power scalers can get.
Characters from other franchises that are barely shown destroying walls are apparently universal thanks to one vague statement or a semi impressive showing or ability that ultimately amounts to nothing but speculation.
Yea but the question is is that are all the movies Canon what is considered canon in dragon ball as a whole?
I think with the Dead Zone, he just has the ability to open a portal to it. This is a creation technique with destructive properties, not a direct destructive capability that Garlic JR can casually whip out with every attack. Think of the universal Spirit Bomb that Goku can do, and imagine it being used by a Goku that just learned how to form the Spirit Bomb from King Kai a few hours ago. The attack itself is extremely powerful, but the user is not. Same thing with Garlic HR & the Dead Zone.
He created it himself so he scales to it

I hope you touch up on cosmology of the main dragon ball series because it's ridiculous when screw attack claim the universe is 4 galaxies wide when we obviously see Super Shenron eating many galaxies for lunch and there's also the guide where it states the living world is infinitely expansive.
the 4 galaxies are just quadrants of the universe.
And yes the living world is stated to be infinite, so is the afterlife.
Super shenron is a reality warper, it can eat the entire universe and the universe would still be uneaten if it wants.

In the first Broly movie, Broly literally destroys the south galaxy. There were originally only four galaxies. This was retconned later on, to where the universe is potentially infinite like our own, with also potentially infinite galaxies.

My 2nd fav villain. I find his saga in the anime to be very interesting if only b/c it did not take a transformation to take him down, but rather the sheer perseverance and teamwork of the heroes fighting him.
to be fair a difficulty with the dead zone ability is it shows how power levels arent perfect. It kinda makes sense in a realistic sense that a technically weaker person could beat them without being more powerful than them

I don't understand why they haven't given Emperor Pilaf his due and basically turn him into the same character that Garlic Jr was? Hed be better because he'd have his own backstory, motivations, plans and goals.
I get he's comedic relief but Pilaf vs Goku could be a pretty big deal of a fight and fan service to long time haha of the original manga and anime.
Garlic Jr. is Multiverse Level+. He created an infinite 4-dimensional realm using his energy. The Dead Zone is an infinite multiverse that contains 4 spatial dimensions, 2 temporal dimensions and infinite timelines. Garlic Jr. can beat Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

Terms like "moon" and "planet" arnt really descriptive of an objects size.
What really defines a moon or a planet is the nature of the objects orbit.
Planets orbit the sun, moons orbit anything smaller than a substellar object that is itself orbiting a larger object.
Although this necessitates that the moon be smaller than its parent object, it doesn't mean that moons must be smaller than planets.
For example the planet Mercury is smaller than Saturn and Jupitor's moons of Titan and Ganimede.
And it doesnt stop there. Theoretically gas giants having moons the size of planet Earth isnt unfeasible either.
So the concept of "planet level" and "moon level" doesn't really work when using it as a measure of magnitude.
A simple answer is that Garlic Jr’s. Power depends on his proximity to Makyo Star, the closer it is the stronger he gets
In beginning he was within the strength of pre Saiyan Saga Piccolo and Goku, but was surpassed by Gohan’s unbound power
After Namek in his Anime filler return, Garlic Jr. was stronger, not only powerful enough to set himself free from the Dead Zone. But strong enough to give Gohan and Piccolo trouble after their time at Namek
It’s safe to say he’s not as strong as SS Goku, but over time we the Makyo Star got closer, he got stronger over time
Combined with his immortality, he’s tough to beat, as over time he might have surpassed Goku with Makyo Star close to Earth
So Gohan destroying it was wise as it made him powerless and trapped in the Dead Zone for all eternity as he couldn’t even die
Had he not been defeated and usurped Kami as evil God of Earth, his potential would be unbound over time, especially if he decides to train as with his immortality he has all the time in the world
With planet boost and Majin, he is semiperfect cell lvl

Just because Garlic Jr can create an alternate hyperspace dimension doesn't mean he scales to that. It's just a unique Ki ability he has he isn't even on Raditz's level just because he has an ability that could theoretically beat anyone. Anybody with a higher ki than him could do what Gohan did to him when he uses the deadzone so it's a double-edged sword desperation move at best.
Anyways, I wish Garlic Jr was the canon final villain of the OG Dragon Ball anime and Toriyama had came up with this character/concept and made him canon. Sadly, that didn't happen and it's a shame because his backstory could easily fit into the manga's story as Garlic Sr was according to the movie's plot sealed and defeated by the "Nameless Namekian" which would make him a being stronger than Kami or Piccolo separated by default. He could have also been made the source of being the reason why the evil in Kami had become so strong that he had to split in two to begin with.
