I mean, the afterlife is a separate space time that transcends the living universe by dimensions, so ss3 goku and buu lore wise could already make universe 7 go poof in a short period of time (kaioshin realm included obviously), and this is before buu copies instant transmission, so fusion saga characters are already unironically going to swat away the hyperspace even if he can manage to get it out yet ssj3 is over 4x the battle power of ssj2 XD

I think the easiest way to put Garlic Jr's Deadzone feat is: A hax feat. Garou was able to enter and manipulate a Hyperspace, yet his APT at high ball is small Galaxy level, far below what would be needed. Garlic Jr. likely is similar. Ki works in varied ways, so it IS most likely a feat, but just a hax one vs something like DBS Broly, where Gogeta and Broly create an entire 4D Pocket Dimension before proceeding to destroy it with raw APT.

If he never opens the Dead Zone, in every battle he fights, yeah, he'd get curb stomped, but Garlic Jr's immortality renders him unable to suffer from fatigue. Eventually, all of his opponents would wear themselves down and since Garlic Jr has proven he can perform incredible feats of power, he can kill them. There is also the option of just allowing his opponents to tire themselves out so much before he opens the dead zone on them as well. #17 and #18 are p much the only exceptions given that they do not suffer from fatigue or energy loss. If Garlic Jr could get stronger with every injury he took, he'd be insanely OP.

Tempting, but the reason Garlic Jr escaped the Dead Zone the first time was thanks to the Makyo Star giving him a power boost. Gohan blew said star/rogue planet to smithereens. Unless he finds another way to escape, Garlic's trapped for good this time.
I feel like the Dead Zone is just a portal he can open that he prides himself on having a bit too much. This is the biggest example of a movie breaking power scaling I can think of, and if he did have 4D attack potency (lol) he wouldn't need to rely on using the Dead Zone as a trump card.
This happens in the movies quite a bit because they are alternative timelines that often come out before the anime even introduces the next thing. Hell characters like Broly and Hatchiyack are way too powerful for the time period they take place in, Broly was destroying the Southern Quadrant at such a fast rate during the movie that King Kai was worried about his Quadrant and that was Restricted State Broly. Shit Hatchiyack literally warped an entire Quadrant with his energy and yet these guys are being fought by Cell Games Z Fighters who wouldn't even be Solar System level because they don't scale to SPC or SSJ2 Gohan... Same thing happens with Fusion Reborn which can be extremely wanked.

Garlic jr is my favorite dragonball character.i played him religiously in BOTH versions of the TCG and to great effect rivaling the most powerful decks like orange drill master roshi and whipping the floor with broly decks,he was not meta but he had such versatility that i won tournaments because people couldnt stop all three win conditions.hes the only villian to have actually won,hes immortal he cannot die i mean can a god even destoy him? Maybe grand zeno,hes not a very deep character motivation wise but hes got such style that unique to the other villians like hes from some ancient occult dynasty,he just does the megolomaniac villian trope so well its hard to see why people dont like him.
NGL, whenever I heard somebody ask anything about a villain from all Dragonball series, it's always the Legendary Garlic Jr. that comes to my mind first.
Wouldn't the makyo planet and king of destruction amps give him the same power boost since they both draw out his potential? And the king of destruction amp would be better since he gets a really durable body along with the power boost.
I think with the Dead Zone, he just has the ability to open a portal to it. This is a creation technique with destructive properties, not a direct destructive capability that Garlic JR can casually whip out with every attack. Think of the universal Spirit Bomb that Goku can do, and imagine it being used by a Goku that just learned how to form the Spirit Bomb from King Kai a few hours ago. The attack itself is extremely powerful, but the user is not. Same thing with Garlic HR & the Dead Zone.
My 2nd fav villain. I find his saga in the anime to be very interesting if only b/c it did not take a transformation to take him down, but rather the sheer perseverance and teamwork of the heroes fighting him.

How do you lowball someone's speed as lightspeed while only giving their attack potency dwarf star level? Accelerating anything with mass to lightspeed requires an infinite amount of energy, so when someone achieves lightspeed their attack power should be infinite.

Garlic Jr's eternal problem is his low power level, he thought that being immortal no one could beat him. Although, if he received a direct attack from a very strong enemy he would not die, but if he decided to attack with his normal techniques, it would not do him any harm, that is why he resorted to his death zone, which in the end played against him. . If Garlic Jr appears, they would easily seal him with the mafuba.
Deadzone was always my favorite DB movie growing up. I use to watch it all the time. I know the cards aren't canon but according to them JR was stronger than third form Frieza

Maybe grand zeno,hes not a very deep character motivation wise but hes got such style that unique to the other villians like hes from some ancient occult dynasty,he just does the megolomaniac villian trope so well its hard to see why people dont like him.

The easy explination for the Dead Zone is that its magic powered by Ki. That lets him have it without throwing everything else out of whack.

I think with the Dead Zone, he just has the ability to open a portal to it. This is a creation technique with destructive properties, not a direct destructive capability that Garlic JR can casually whip out with every attack. Think of the universal Spirit Bomb that Goku can do, and imagine it being used by a Goku that just learned how to form the Spirit Bomb from King Kai a few hours ago. The attack itself is extremely powerful, but the user is not. Same thing with Garlic HR & the Dead Zone.

Call me crazy but during this saga i was 100% convinced that Gohan would achieve Super Sayin form like his father to save himself and his friends.

My 2nd fav villain. I find his saga in the anime to be very interesting if only b/c it did not take a transformation to take him down, but rather the sheer perseverance and teamwork of the heroes fighting him.

to be fair a difficulty with the dead zone ability is it shows how power levels arent perfect. It kinda makes sense in a realistic sense that a technically weaker person could beat them without being more powerful than them

0:54 that's not how I feel I always loved garlic jr. I love how he got things done do you love you wanted immortality boom he wanted to take over the lookout boom. And he wanted to make a demon army 🪖 on top of that his minions did almost flawlessly with the z fighters failed to do continuously they got to jumping. And yes Gohan is a continuous threat to Junior but I believe if he's anyone's Nemesis he is definitely piccolo's
Garlic Jr's eternal problem is his low power level, he thought that being immortal no one could beat him. Although, if he received a direct attack from a very strong enemy he would not die, but if he decided to attack with his normal techniques, it would not do him any harm, that is why he resorted to his death zone, which in the end played against him. . If Garlic Jr appears, they would easily seal him with the mafuba.

Deadzone was always my favorite DB movie growing up. I use to watch it all the time. I know the cards aren't canon but according to them JR was stronger than third form Frieza

Saitama isn’t boundless, don’t get me wrong he has the potential to be boundless but with how his fight with cosmic garou went and how it states that saitama is constantly improving in that fight. Meaning he still hasn’t reach his peak yet, he’s still able to wipe out all the stars around him and garou just by them clashing. AND traveling back in time to end the fight before it began. Tldr: Popeye is the first boundless bald character
