Ub Iwerks was the head animator for a lot of the original Disney Studio cartoons, including Mickey Mouse himself. Skeleton Dance was the first Merrie Melody and was created to give animators room to play and grow outside of the Mickey character constraints. The original animation has been edited and set to new music, but the life of the original drawings remains. Stay tuned to the end when my original study piece is revealed. Breaking down these old animations and backgrounds was a joyful process and a crash course in animation timing charts for beginners. Enjoy!
