I love how you describe and go through extra detail so that the person watching can understand clearly. This is the best video description I’ve ever seen!
Bless you! I had to change the battery in my lock & couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get it put back together. It was the alignment you explained at 4:00. Thanks so much. 😊
Thank you so very much!! I watched your video twice. Then unboxed and installed following along with you! Completely easy! You made it all possible!! Trust me when I tell you that looking at the instructions on the giant sheet is so intimidating! I took my time and was done ✅ in 20 minutes! Stopping the video with every step! You are awesome! Then my husband came home surprisingly happy! I placed this lock on the interior door leading to the garage. So tired of using the keys especially with bags in my hand. I appreciate you uploading this video!
Thank you, sir, for making such an easy to understand video! I’m at our cabin and had to replace our Schlage keypad lock. I looked at the direction and wanted to cry. I searched on UA-cam and found your video and it was a cinch to install…and I’m the least handiest woman on earth. Anyway, you saved the day so I am very grateful!
Thank you so much for your video. I installed a new lock for my house today. I was ready to call a locksmith, but after watching this video, I realized how easy it would be to do it myself. So, thank you! The lock was expensive enough without having to pay someone else to do it!
We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

I’m thankful to you for posting the video. Awesom! That company should have pay you for an excellent instruction. 💐
Thank you so much! The only thing I got stuck on was expecting that turning the (indoor) top latch would lock the door handle from turning on the inside.
Yes! the code can be changed. The instructions on how to do that comes with the lock. There's a sticker on the booklet that has the "Programming Code" on it. Thanks for the question!
Thank you for a great video. However, after I followed all the instructions the door did not automatically lock. I have 2 sets installed on 2 doors and nothing happens when I close the door. I can hear it "unlock" when I enter the codes. But the door doesn't lock afterwards, even with the key. Can't get through to customer support at Schlage....is there something I'm missing??
These are not cheap. You will pay over $100 for a decent lock like this. My recommendation is to research the internet for interior combo door locks. Maybe mechanical / manual instead of electronic.
At time code 0:07, there is a single bolt next to and to the right of the 4 wood screws provided for the striker plate and door latch. I did not see that used in the video. What is that bolt for?
Excellent video. I hope you remembered to change your codes including the master code itself as they were exposed in the video. Thank you for this awesome video.
I have gatehouse keyless it work on the right door, but I have a big problem when installing on the left door cause the lock turns clockwise. I don't know how to fix it. Thank in advance If you can advice
It's hard to diagnose without seeing it, but it may be as simple as rotating the locking mechanism "upside-down", to make it "right side up" for the left door. Does that make sense? let me know
It's important to have the security from the outside. But nobody thinks of the security from the inside. If a thief uses my key he will rotate my inside turn-knob above the handle into unlock position. And voila, the thief is quietly inside my house. Is there a way to block the turn knob located on the inside?
Not sure, but my dad always told me, "locks keep the honest people out". I think it's funny that I have a window on this door, and a lock right below it, and same with our house and most people's houses. Love that old saying from my dad..... it's so true.
Are you asking about how to protect your key from theft or asking how to protect your inside 'thumb turn' from someone breaking a door on the window and reaching through to turn the thumb turn?
After installing it the handle on the outside part of the door when pressed down the latch dosnt go in and out as shown in 4:42. But when the handle is pressed down from the inside it goes down. So do i have to put in the code first before and then the outside handle will actually open the door? If i explained it correctly.
@@PhilCrockett I lose my keys a lot. I watched this, then bought the same model. Shows up tomorrow. I'll be watching again when it gets here and I'll definitely check out your channel.

If the battery goes dead and i do not have a replacement battery available AND I want to be able to LOCK the door from the inside using that little latch and UNLOCK the door using a key......Can I do both ?
YES! you can use the key. when the batteries die, it just become a regular key-lock door. Good question. In fact....this happened to me last year for the first time. I was so glad that I hid a key near the building to get in.
This has been the best lock I've ever purchased. I've only changed batteries once (about 6 months ago). I might buy one for my basement door. I totally recommend buying this lock.
The lever is wrongly installed in this video. The end of the lever must be pointing down (not up). So, you don't just rotate the lever to make it point in the opposite direction, you must actually switch the place of the front and back levers. If you follow the instructions more carefully, this is well explained. ;)
ha.... well....depends on how to want to install it. I get that comment all the time. This happens to be on the door to my shop. I'm always carrying stuff with both arms and I thought with the handle curving up, it would be easier to open with a downward elbow. It works so well, that I thought about changing my garage-to-house door handle this way due to always carrying in groceries. Anywho.... I'm always thinking of a better / more efficient way of doing things. It's a curse. Thanks for the criticism though... there's always a good lesson when that occurs. thanks for watching, Peter!
Is there a way to unlock the lock if the battery dies and you can't find the key? I see on some models you can bump a 9 volt battery to the front of the keypad and it will allow you to unlock when you don't have a key and the battery dies. Is there anyway to do this on this model?

Ok, This maybe a dumb question but where was your key located in the package?
I honestly don't remember, but it was in there for sure. I think in a separate plastic bag..... i think....
I installed the lock... but it doesn't lock. The knob is on and when I shut the door from the outside it is still open.... any idea?
when you say it is "still open" do you mean it's not latching in the latch-hole in the door jam?
Same here! How did you resolved this?
