The lock has nice appearance. Install is very simple with the only issue being the wiring. Getting it tucked into the recess is NOT easy and the wires are very small and delicate so care must be taken! Once installed it worked fine, just as described. Just hope it keeps working.
This is a very good lock. we love it! no more need to wait kids at the door at time they are coming from school. quality is awesome. installation took less than 5 minutes with single screwdriver.
I have owned one of these for over ten years and have had no problems (electrical or mechanical) with it other than having to swap the 9V battery once or twice... but maybe that’s because it’s been installed in an enclosed space that whole time. Great functioning lock overall.

I successfully installed a schlage keyless lock on my back door, so that tells you its not all that hard, right??? NOT! I wen't to put another brand on my side door and everything works great right up to the part where the bolt closes from the outside by pushing the lock button. WTH??????? What do I do now?
mine did same, take lock back off and make sure the little square door-hickey male end is going in the female end when sticking it back together, don't over tighten
If the battery goes dead and i do not have a replacement battery available AND I want to be able to LOCK the door from the inside using that little latch and UNLOCK the door using a key......Can I do both ?
If the inside latch was in the locked position before the battery dies, then yes using the mechanical key override to unlock the door is possible. The door will lock again when the key is removed from the cylinder. Even if the inside latch was in unlocked position before the battery died, it still may be possible to re-lock the door with the mechanical override, but I haven’t tested that before
I got everything installed, and I can’t get it to latch shut up against the door. I can pull the door open without even turning the handle. I’m not sure what I am doing wrong.
Getting the wires tucked in was a tearful process of frustration!!! 😢 Why is there so much wire, to tuck away in such a tiny area, when there is so much dead space everywhere else? 😕🤔 My internals & wire set up does not match what the video shows. 😳 Why not update the video? 🧐💡 I am going to return the other 12, because it was such a hassle getting it together. 💸 It's heavy, & the "hands free" holding screw doesn't work well enough. 🤺 Don't install without crocks on, to bounce off the falling plates. It could seriously bruise, if not break bones. 🤼 No, I am not a pro installer, 🔖 but am not inept either. 👩🏻🔧 Just a fairly handy person, who found this much harder to deal with than another, ⚖️less expensive brand. 👩🏻⚖️ 0:14 & After way too long it doesn't work...so have to leave it unlocked till the morning, & some help arrives. 👎

We have knobs (not levers) that came with our Schalge FE595 keypad lock. We are having trouble getting the exterior knob to click in. Any suggestions...asap please.

Nice hands! Trouble for is is that the product installed fine, the codes work, but the door does not lock! Not with the key, and not with the turn thing inside...and the electronic function does nothing but look pretty. Gasp!
they make covers you can put over it or else you could keep an extra dead bolt for safety concerns! Make sure you replace all the 1/2" screws w/3" ones if there is meat in the walls to dig in to, In God We Trust
For mine, when the door is locked and closed, after entering the code to enter the room, the door still remains locked afterwards. Is there a way to fully have the door unlock after unlocking the door? It seems to set like this permanently by manufacturer. Any suggestions?
Hello, Thanks for reaching out! We offer two different models that look similar. The FE595 in the video referenced has the ability to remain locked or unlocked as it has a flex-turn on the interior side. When the flex-turn is vertical the exterior will remain unlocked and when it is horizontal it will remain locked. The FE575 model has the same exterior keypad assembly, but the interior is just a knob or lever so this model will always remain locked. I have returned it back to Home Depot. My wife and I decided to try the HoneyWell brand and it works tremendously. Their installation and code setup were easier.

Total garbage. You want printed instructions in the boxTough. You want an actual key with your lock? Nope. Enjoy this little pick thing. You want to reset the master made up 6 digit code? Absolutely not. So keep that written down somewhere. Do yourself a favor and go kwikset. But this video helped. Even though I had the same model and mine looked little like this.
well I thought this lock would be ideal to install on bedrooms so visitors could feel safer about their belongings and theirselves!This lock is set up to fail!! 1st, the wires to connect battery w/o pinching them is impossible, so either one part of the lock works or the other! 2nd, every time you replace the battery you have to start the seemingly easy but inevitable ,,, that the plastic or the wires will pinch/break/ etc... ok then a cpl parts were missing the 1" set screw to hold the plate in place, then the key wouldn't work, then after pulling it all apart and carefully reinstalling it the lock worked perfectly UNLESS YOU WERE IN THE ROOM, THE YOU'RE LOCKED IN, APPARENTLY THE LOCK/UNLOCK TOGGLE DIDN'T CATCH IT ITS Chinese plastic housing! I don't really know or care at this point! WHAT IF YOUR 4 YEAR OLD IS LOCKED IN THEIR ROOM?? NOW , I'm not going to bother w/doing the Code thing, it's going back! NO WONDER THEY WANTED TO SELL ME EXTENDED WARRANTY ON A LOCK !!!! WTH, I was told Kwikset was garbage go w/Schlage! I love the Kwikset Smart Key system SAVE YOUR $120, BY OLD SCHOOL KEY LOCKS AND INSTALL THEM W/3" SCREWS! I Could do all the locks on my home w/those for the price of this thing

Mine doesn't unlock and the code works. I can't even unlock using the key that came with it. Returning...

I have this same lock and the deadbolt is able to open from both sides without typing in the code. If I switch the lock nothing happens

Thanks for the video. For some reason the Schlage keyless lock does not come with instructions. Video is better than paper anyway.
Mine was missing a few things, like the door knob and dead bolt schematic and a properly functioning lock
