Reading instructions I got angry and frustrated after an hour of trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. Put old door knob on door and went to sleep. Woke up watched this video and got it working in 20 minutes! Thank you! It was the programming that I was missing in the instructions.

These locks are really nice. At the place where I work we have installed these on some of our doors. The grade 2 light duty commercial rating insures that it will last quite a while. It is also not super expensive, so we can afford them. We have a more expensive Kaba Simplex 5000 lock on our main door. Putting the better quality Kaba lock on our other doors would get too expensive.
I am going to replace one of these locks on one of our building doors. We have had it for a long time and it is in bad shape. The handle keeps falling off and it sometimes fails to unlock. Not the fault of the lock, just from usage and abuse. I just ordered the new one. I am going to install one of these for the first time. These installation and programming instructions are easy to understand. Thank you very much!

Thanks for the great video. I purchased this lock but my door is 2 inches thick, the maximum that schlage says will fit is 1-3/4 inches. Will that 1/4 inch be a problem? If so how can I fix it, please?

Two questions : 1 How so you REVERSE the handles on the set from left / right ?
2. When you are LEAVE your house, how you LOCK up ?
So 1. Reverse the handle using the provided pin or by using a paper clip on the side of the handle, press first and then remove the handle and switch the sides.
2. The latch should face the closing position just like any doorknob etc

Yes but that doesn’t mean that they can open the door is just to remove the handle to change the handing

I have had this lock for 7 years. I loved the convenience. Recently the outside door lever no longer engages the thumb against the strikeplate, but the inside lever does perfectly. Is this an easy fix or worth hiring a locksmith or replacing the unit?

I just finished watching your video but right at the end you mentioned about the passage lock, it was a bit confusing and I'm not sure I;m understanding what you mean exactly. Would you please elaborate.
So the tumbturn on the inside panel can trigger the lock to a passage mode so you don’t need a code to open the lock and disable that to the normal locking option to enter with a code.

How to install if your door swing inside to left ? Does this lever is for both side door or I have to buy specific for left open door
Yes there is a way to switch between the levers… you can see the side slot and use a paper clip to remote the levers and switch sides
For mine, when the door is locked and closed, after entering the code to enter the room, the door still remains locked afterwards. Is there a way to fully have the door in unlock mode after unlocking the door? It seems to set like this permanently by manufacturer. Any suggestions?
They changed the produced a little as the key override only turns 90 degrees now

But the do have a light commercial version of this lock that you can install in an interior office door (not for exterior door)

If the battery goes dead and i do not have a replacement battery available AND I want to be able to LOCK the door from the inside using that little latch and UNLOCK the door using a key......Can I do both ?
If the battery died you can always use the key to get in and the thumb turn from the inside you can use it to enable or disable the locking feature of the outside lever
To Prepared and Koby at Silver Eagle Locksmith: I just installed one of these yesterday at a friends house. It's a great lock, like Koby described, but I noticed that, while the key mechanically operates the mechanism, the thumb-turn knob on the inside only operates an internal electrical switch and is not tied mechanically to the lock. So if the battery were completely dead then the thumb-turn knob will have no effect (unless there is some undocumented 2nd battery). I would like to think that the lock would fail to the locked state if the battery dies, but I did not have the time to test that theory. I really want a keypad lever lock for my new front door set up. I already have the Encode, which is a great lock! I wanted the Touch, but I see too many bad reviews about being locked out. Maybe this will be a good substitute?
My lock wouldnt close unless unlocked. That thing that sticks into the door jam wouldn't contract. I had that latch sticking thing upside down. Hope this helps someone

Can you remove the passage function? I’m using it for a restroom at a business and wouldn’t want someone thinking it’s a deadbolt and moving it to passage move by accident lol 😂
Schlage have a version without that Tumb turn so once they are inside it will lock automatically behind them… but that’s also confusing because someone can think it’s not locked.
So maybe you will need a different type of keypad for a restroom

I liked your video, thanks. my lock came with only one key and that's the first time in my life a lock didn't come with 2 keys? my main question is my lock came with the "holding screw" (for lack of better term) that you pushed thru the mounting place that kinda ratcheted into placed, all ready ratcheted onto the outside (keypad) plate while it's in the box? will it hurt to unscrew as much as I can with my finger then pull the last couple threads free? amazon chat customer service told me it should have come with 2 keys. i'm concerned as my box wasn't tapped closed and anyone could have lifted the flap and had access to the inside, so that's why i'm asking about the number of keys from schlange to be in the box if that makes sense?

Great video, however, after installation and following programming, the door is always in 'unlock' mode. Even turning the key doesn't prevent the handle / latch from unlocking? Took it off and re-installed .. same thing. Should the Spindle be very loose and wobbly? If I use the key and turn it, no matter which position the handle moves the spindle ...not sure what to try next other than to return it
This is one of the 'DUH' moments :) I realized that during the installation that little microswitch popped out, and of course I wasn't paying attention and installed it backwards - hence the door was always unlocked! And, it took me a few minutes that the manual lock switch had to be electronic, not mechanical .. another 'duh' ... so, thanks for the video - it really did help! What should have been a 15 minute installation took 90 minutes :)
I tried to put this lock together with no luck, it is not easy as you think especially getting the back plate on. I noticed that you edited how you actually put the back plate and went to the next step. I returned this lock.

you should have the Yellow sticker with the programming code in the back side of the keypad lock. After you know the code you can change your programming code etc

Can this be programmed for auto lock?
This Schlage lever keypad is automatically lock when the door is closed by default. But if you looking for a lock that you can program to auto lock after 15 sec, 30 sec, 1 min or more than I recommend you to go with the Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt (It’s also work with smartphone app etc)

How do you flip it
If you talking about flipping the levers
You need to use the provided pin And press it in the small slot and you will be able to remove the levers and flip them
Waste of my time, after the install, I installed it on outside security door, it was too bulky and wouldn't allow the inside door to close
