Husqvarna Tractor With Sears Craftsman 42-Inch Snowblower Attachment - How To Clear Driveway Of Snow

  • Finally, Minnesota received its first snowfall of 2015. So far, we are not living up to the title of Minne-SNOW-Da. Could have shoveled the driveway since we only got about 4 inches but it is a good excuse to recharge the lawn mower battery. It's way more fun when we have about 12 inches of snow but alas, those were the days. Global warming does seem to come with its drawbacks!

    This video is super helpful to know that a craftsman blower will fit my husqvarna mower, thanks for posting!

    Sears tractors are made by AYP a Husqvarna group. Husqvarna and Sears use the same blower just differnt labeling.

      yep I had a craftsman riding mower. I would buy the Husqvarna parts they fit and were cheaper. When the local sears stores closed all i could get were Husqvarna parts.

    I bought a Craftsman tractor used - with this blower and for the life of me, I can't figure out the lift mechanism! I have online manuals. I just am having a dikkinz of a time with this. I also have an electric/hydraulic lift for it and same thing. Where the handle goes in - that obviously is where the 'magic' is and the whole implement (for anyone else!) just lifts up so easily! But I dunno. I've got it all mounted fine and it works when I engage the power - shuts off as it should when I release the power lever too. It's just the lower/lift that is having me in kahoots.

    I have the same tractor as you and I am looking for a snowblower. And I was wondering what brand of snow blower is that and where did you find it

      It was many years ago and yes, it's still working this year, no complaints! I did a quick search for the equal to it and believe sears.com still sells the same thing.
      www.sears.com/craftsman-dual-stage-snow-blower-tractor-attachment/p-07124837000P?plpSellerId=Sears&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1
      The have a model fit chart on the listing. Mine is a Sears Craftsman I bought from the Sears store back when Sears had stores... so sad. But anyway, that's a different video. From what I have seen, almost all lawn tractors are universally the same when it comes to frames, transmissions, and engines. This Craftsman blower to me looks identical to the Agri-Fab which looks identical to the Husqvarna blower attachment so all 3 would probably work and usually there is a fit chart that says what they are compatible with.
      Also, these "universal kits" are universal for a reason. They come with many extra parts or at least mine did when I got it. I got extra bolts and pulleys and belts and other items so I basically used the different pieces that fit the best from that packages so my tractor ended up looking like the pictures in the install manual. There are some parts that are a one time install thing that stay on the tractor. The rest of the parts easily hook on and off for easy removal.
      It's not bad switch in and out for winter or installing the blower for the first time. Just takes some attention and a little push and pull.
      The one I got is a 42 inch. At the time there was a 48 inch and now I see it looks like that went into a 50 inch. I only have experience with this 42 inch but I assume it's all about the same ball game.
      Thanks for watching the videos! Good luck in your! I have to say, it is super fun to use and I secret hope for feet of snow every year because it's kind of fun to use!

    Looks like you put more weight on then the tires. How much weight did you add to the back

      Was about 100 pounds of sand plus each wheel weight was 10 or 15 pounds I think? It has been awhile since I saw the numbers

    what year is your tractor? trying to figure out if the blowers they sell now will fit my 2010 Husqvarna...

    • @promates5199
      @promates5199  7 років тому +2

      It is a 2006. I cannot say for sure if this blower will fit a 2010 but my guess would be yes. It is flexible and mostly universal, the one I bought. And tractor frames in general are quite universal in nature as well. When I bought my snow blower attachment, it came with multiple pulleys, 2 different belt lengths, and many packages of bolts of various lengths. Even then though, I had to make a few different trial and error combinations of all the different possible configurations of pulleys, bolts, bolt holes, and belts. The good news is 1) I didn't have to drill any holes as there were many holes along the frame to choose from and always something close enough by and 2) Once you get it hooked up and working, everything stays together so it is just lift on and lift off with 6 pins and keys.

    Do you, by chance, have a video installation of the snow blower onto your lawn tractor? If not that's ok I'm sure it is not that difficult, just curious.

    • @promates5199
      @promates5199  3 роки тому +1

      I thought about making one but figured there were videos already posted on how to install it. Luckily, the tractor frames and the brackets are mostly universal so if you take your time, you can sort of see where everything is supposed to go.

      @@promates5199 Hello, I have a YTH24V48 that has a stock plain front end, and the 42" Craftsman that has the big black bracket the has two kinda open slot hooks. So what bracket do I buy or get to attach to the tractor frame rails to clip on the blower?
