This is a very good video. Most consumers know that assembly is required with a lot of things. A perfect example is a gas grill, which can easily take 5 hours to put together in some cases. It's nice that this has a video to help visualize the assembly steps. Thanks for making this, Husqvarna!

This is an Excellent video.....I just bought a Craftsman snowblower attachment and now after watching this video, the instructions make sense. They were a little confusing without seeing it actually done. The only problem I can see is I don't have a blue shirt like his in the video......
What type of snowblower because i want one
I’ve had a 54” Husqvarna since 2007. I remove the deck and add the 42” blower every fall. The first time was a pain in the ass, because that is when you remove the front bumper and put the permanent front bracket and attachment points on the tractor frame and also assemble the pulley transfer case. But, every year after that you just remove the deck, hang the blower on the front bracket, pin the transfer case underneath, attach belts and do rear tire chains.
Awesome. We just bought this after our troybuilt push blower went out. I'm looking forward to it arriving and installing it. Im wondering if instead of chains could put those eBay kart Trax wheel on? We live in the mountains and traction is definitely still an issue with chains using the plow attachment. So idk

This video literally just talked me out of this. What a pain in the ass. Cheaper and easier to pay someone 20 bucks a few times a year when it snows.
I bought my LGT 2554 in 2011 and have 350 hours on it and I haven't had one single issue with the riding mower. I keep it completely tuned up and maintained.
As far as this snow removal attachment, we don't have enough snow to make it feasible to get one. Plus they are too expensive and looks to be too much work installing one. Maybe one day they will make a very easy snap on/off assortment of attachments. Fork lift attachment, post hole digger, plows, etc...
Well that was certainly a hell of a lot more difficult than I imagined. You can't even do it by yourself? And you know this was by far the best case scenario. Real life conditions would be far worse, and there'd be no ability to edit out the frustrating parts.
Screw it, I think I'll just pay someone to plow.
I did it by myself in 3 hrs the worst part is deciphering the instructions which are horrible

The real. life conditions WERE worse. TERRIBLE instructions and design. took two of us a total of 6 hours in my garage over two days.
Wow!!! Lot of these comments are the reason why everyone should take a shop class in high school, if they're still available. After attaching the mounting points, it's only 20 minutes to attach to tractor. Meaning after the initial mounting, every year after that , 20 minutes. And no additional engine to maintain ..... like a snowblower. It's awesome...... but you have to know invest your brain in actually doing something mechanical.... roll up your fn sleeves and try it out.

same here. 2 brackets - 4 bolts each, pulleys - no bolts just plug and play, throwers plug and play. 30 min tops
I had no trouble putting the blower on. It started when I started to blow snow. The blower belt would not stay on. I had to make a guide under the tractor where the belt drive pulley is. When I installed that, no problem.When it pulled hard,the beltwould jump and not stay on. Newer models they had a guide there.
Do you have a picture or illustration of the belt guide you installed? My belt falls off constantly if the snow is wet and heavy.
@@brianpertel6228 I bolted a 90 degree brace under the clutch and bent it alittle so it would not be sharp edge. Can blow a full blower with no trouble. I am going to see if I CA. Put an idler pulley under there. I think I can. That would be better.
That's a lot to do every year. Think they would make it easier.

Yeah, he disassembles it and stores it away until the next time it shows. Back in the original packaging, no doubt. Then he starches that pretty shirt and starts all over again. Ain't life grand?
If you can shovel your drive in less than 22 min, you really don't need a snow blower.
Just an observation, I would be putting nuts and bolts in so gravity was holding the bolt in place if the nut fell off. It might be the difference between needing a new nut or a total failure. Yeah they are engineers putting the design together, I keep on expecting to see a tie dangling into the shot.

Husqvarna is my favorite one tractor
I have a blade. The mower deck is a PIA to get off. The blade is much easier and keep a snow blower handy. This needs to be simplified. I see why so many people get rid of them.
Wow! This is really insightful! I own a cub cadet, those idiots don’t show 1/4 of what these guys are showing here! I can basically use this video to put on their damn blower! Cub cadet doesn’t even have proper instructions. It would possibly kill them to make a hands on video like this!

This is insane and they should be playing horror movie music as the background. That's a heck of a lot of work. Give me a good solid snowthrower instead. Get one with an optional cab to keep away blowback and it will also keep you warm.

I am a strong believer of Husqvarna products, have a chainsaw, lawn mower, battery powered hedge trimmer, but this video made me glad that my father made me buy a John Deere lawn tractor.
Probably better with narration instead of music. Small details can be conveyed.

Yes you do...
No. I have this attachment on a craftsman tractor (917 model which is made by Husq). First time assembly out of box was 6-10 hours as in video. But switching between snowthrower and mower is less than 1 hour. You don't tear it down to nuts and bolts. You don't even need a wrench. All you deal with are cotter pins.
Power take off is by far the way go.
I could put the rear deflectors on, no problems!! (LOL!!) as for the rest of it, dial 1(800) SCREW-IT - (have it done professionally!!)........
Why can't many of these steps be predone at the factory so it doesn't require a homeowner to hire a NASCAR pit crew to take 2 days to assemble it?

better always have a spare belt handy for the snow thrower. If you need to blow snow and the belt breaks, how are you going to get out to buy a replacement?

One good thing is judging by their soft looking manicured hands, and they way they fumbled with every nut and wrench they touched, I'm guessing these are just the engineers that designed this product and if engineers can put it together, anyone can.
Agree. Is a lot of BS in the comments here about the time and stuff. Anyone who can hold a tool in his hands without smashing their fingers can do this faster and easier. As for those who can't, I recommend to ask somebody who can.

Wheel horse 312-8 built in 1984. Mower deck off: 1 minute, snowblower on: 5 minutes (alone with gloves on) cup of tea: 4 minutes. No tools required. 10 minutes and you're ready to blow snow. This system does not seem to be an improvement....
Ok, now do that again after using it for 5 seasons when bolts, washers and nuts are rusted.
Wow, couldn't it come at least partially assembled? This will take the average person 4 hours to do. What a hassle. Are other blower attachments for cub cadet, JD, craftsman, etc this much work to put on the first time?

The Dozer Blade attachment can be put on my 12 yr old Husqvarna GTH24V52LS and removed by one person in 2 mins.

I dont get the issue here. I just baught a craftsman/husqvarna tractor and a Berco blower with electric winch lift. Took me a weekend to set up but now I can switch from mower deck to snowblower in 25 minutes tops as all brackets stay on. Use to take me over 3 hours to blow my driveway with a wlk behind. I plan on doing it now in less then 1 hour. I blow my driveway at least 10 times a year so it should save me 20 hours in total.

Terminator65 ' Bercomac snowblower is made in Canada with excellent quality. Craftsman garden tractor gt7400 is found cheaper then comparable Husqvarna garden tractor with the g730 transmission.

In addition, I thought Sweden would be in the EU, and as you would work with Metric Masses (key 1/2 inch).

Usually you don't cut grass in the winter..
So when it snows, change it to plow, when it starts to green, turn it to deck.
I bet those guys putting that snowblower on we're wishing they were installing a snowblower on a John Deere (real tractor) with the quick hitch attachment!

Kelly Aulenback if you don’t know how to put on a mowing deck you should be near lawn tractors
The driveline will come off by removing those two pins and sliding it forward. Mower decks are typically also pin-on. Three points typically. The snowblower will also detach in a similar fashion for summer storage. That's a good time to oil all moving parts, get rid of any rust from the season and apply some rustproof paint to prolong the life of the implement.
This was 2013..... In 2019, Maybe with all the advanced technology the engineers can make something thats as easy as hooking up and putting on the belt drive?
My 1965 Bolens is 2 pins and a driveshaft. Done in 5 minutes.
01:15 You washer placement is incorrect. It's supposed to be on the OUTSIDE of the bracket mount. You are placing it inside between the frame and the bracket - there is a square part of that bolt that is held tightly with the square hole in the bracket - but by placing the washer on before the bracket - you're not allowing the nut to lock to the mount. Plus, your brackets are then ~ .5" wider than they're supposed to be across the space between the two mounts.
actually it's correct. if you notice that prior to placing that piece, the 2nd hole to the left protrudes more than the other three. the hole goes through an extra sheet of welded metal. the washers are spacers that help that piece sit flush against the frame

No, No, No. - This is not what I had in mind when I decided to go look at, and likely buy a Husqvarna 54" Mower/50" Snow blower. Way too much work to remove the mower and install the Blower.
Pull the mower out from the side is so 1950's, you would think by now 70 years later they could do better. Attaching the Blower ought to be able to be accomplished in a matter of a few minutes not a few hours crawling around on a cold driveway. Most of us don't have a warm garage and two well practiced engineers to change our attachments out for us.

I need a replacement impeller and the dealer can not order one unless I get the product number. After a extensive search online on Husqvarna wed site and talking to experts by phone I still do not have the product number, its getting to be very frustrating. I have the 42" snow thrower attachment with electric lift...
Correction I need the part number for the impeller so he could order the right one...

Long belt is fed Forward horizontally from the bottom of the XFR case to an idler pulley on the snow blower. That pulley changes the direction to vertical then around the driven snow blower pulley. Then down vertically to another idler pulley that returns the belt to horizontal and back to the snow blower bottom XFR case driven pulley.
It’s a pretty simple set up, mine has worked flawlessly through 4 Michigan winters, but it is pretty useless without rear wheel chains and wheel weights.
After initial set up it goes on and off in about 5-10 minutes.

This isn't showing a crucial part: the Y fork that is used to adjust the front of the mower that it appears you have to remove. Frankly, as a wrench turner, I find this part of the removal of the mower (not show in the manual) and adding the blower is totally missed.....
how do you adjust the limit screws for raising the blower? Min only goes up a few inches which is not enough. it mus go a little higher otherwise why is there so much cable on the winch?

I find it terrible that Husqvarna are not responding to people who ask questions. I'm going to look for some alternative that makes it easier to put on, then take off to put the moving deck back on. Since Husqvarna have not responded to questions here, I'm not buying their stuff.

Hello husqvarna. I have a ground very hard for my husqvarna TS 243, there is many holes and stiff slope thus I have problems of adérance, believe you that if I use chain(channel) for tires that is going to help me?

I'd consider this more as a permanent solution. To think of converting every fall to plow snow and spring to mow the lawn is just...MEEH!
But all of that comes at a pretty hefty penny, as you'd need two tractors for that...

good to know to stay away from, so many parts to fail, mine is driven by the front pto and drive shaft to the gear box on my troy built 22hp lawn tractor with a 5 foot blower no belts or pulleys to fail, used it commercially for 5 year and still going strong, how ever I do have that brand in a articulating front mount mower that been going strong now for many years, even used it 5 year commercially, the only down fall on it is the very thin transition drive belt that blows every year weather I was using it commercially or even today for just my own yard, seem to not mater how its used the belt only lasts so many hours, other then that I love it, hate the style he has
Unable to install my thrower - different browning shield and is in the way of the bolts @ 2:15 - Dealer should have known this - They sold me both units at the same time.
I am install this blower attachment onto my husqvarna tractor.....Not as easy as it looks....part fitment is poor so you really got to work to put on brackets. My stock exhaust shield does not fit back on without a lot of muscle. I am missing a flange nut. The supplied hardware has oval nuts (locking) which make it impossible to torque with a screwdriver. Customer support just refers you to closest dealer. My install is only also to three min in video.
Left and right plates at the start of the video with the large washers sandwiched behind the plate makes no sense to me.
Can I put one of these on my Ariens Lawn Tractor, 48" with 22 hp engine?
Plastic chute remind will make the whole thing out of plastic because then you can buy a new one next time planned obsolescence at its best

Why I can't find the "Clutch cable" shown here at 7:30 on my tractor?? I just can't proceed with the installation simply because I can't fund the "CLUTCH CABLE"!!!! I just bought this tractor in 2016!! is it a new version??

so much work for a poor quality product. my snowblower on my old 1998 jogn deere goes on with a couple pins and that things is a tank. solid 1/4" steel on the blower and 1/2" steel on the blower frame. no silly cheap handle to move it around. my blower is 20 years odl runs like a beast, throws wet heavy snow a foot deep at least 20ft.
Similar on my 1965 Bolens. 2 pins and a driveshaft.

Honestly the first time is the most time consuming. I’ve owned this set up 3 years now, including chains and rear weight and have yet to have any issues clearing snow. The most I’ve had to clear has been 21”, both powder and wet snow, and it preformed perfectly
Next step is to put your car together by your self :(
I have the craftsman version of the tractor. Plastic pulleys fail all the time. Had tractor for 6 years and am on the third set of plastic drive idler pulleys. I won’t be buying another Husqvarna or anything with plastic pulleys. My old bolens was thirty years old and never needed be pulleys except the idler in the deck that I changed once. They were steel. Step up your game. Charge an extra $20 for steel pulleys and put them on there. The pulleys melt if the belt jams. I’m speaking of on the tractor not snow attachment.

+Larry Evans I see your point. this video is 22:00, but it would take waaay longer. I think the counter argument could be...most of the maintenance would be for the initial use. No one would break the unit all the way down.
+Evictus M I have a 1988 gravely 8173- and a 1975 commercial 10 walk behind - and I can be snow blowing , mowing, plowing in less than 3 min. I just don't see the average joe/ doing all this. Even the kit to hook it up. I may be wrong, there are a few people left with common sense left in this world.
Be very careful if you buy any Husqvarna Products that offer a rebate for a sales promotion. I spent over $2,000 for one of their riding lawn tractors and bagger and they tried to screw me out of my $100 rebate for the bagger. Luckily the dealer stepped up and made good. I would suggest you make copies of any paperwork submitted for the rebate. But still with my copies, the best Husqvarna wanted to do was offer me a merchandise credit at the dealer. I've always like Husqvarna Products, however, my recent experience over the rebate left a bad taste in my mouth.

Funny so see suit boys put together this blower assembly probably will need someone to clean there nails lol! John Deere has a way better attachment idea cause i can go to deck to blower in 5 minutes or blade I guess you get what you pay for!!
