The guy at 15:05 was spot on with the Indian pronunciation, far better than what I expected from a non-native. We don't really use accented syllables in Hindi. FYI, Him in Hindi means snow. Alaya means abode. Hindi often compresses two or more words into a single word to convey information in a succinct manner. Himalaya literally means "home of snow", an allusion to its towering heights in a geographically tropical land.
Now that is how you test a bike. Well done. Also kudos to the RE guy who told you to not to go crazy crazy because the recovery van was not there at the moment. 🤣
Ik ging kapot stuk toen je in zijn 3 flat out een mega jump maakte en die motor afraffelt en die gast naar je toe komt met "hey, dat is mijn motor man" 😂😅
Same thing happened to me! Had decided to get a scrambler 400x. Waited for my dealer to get a Himalayan450 (their advice). Took the RE on a back to back ride with a friend and a 4oox. After that I could not buy the 400x. Himalayan was just too much fun! Put a tubeless version in my driveway! Love the crazy bike! The best way I can describe it is friendly! Great video!
I’d like everyone from North America to use this as the “please, RE” button. There is a glaring hole in the NA market that this bike drops absolutely perfectly into. Royal Enfield, please 🙏🏼
Somehow you can on my feed and wouldn't lie this the best bike testing video I have seen so far. Awesome guy you are...keep smiling and keep going crazy ✌️
First of all, the Himalayan's major purpose is for off-road riding. For an adventure, off road capability bike who needs cruise control 😅, atleast I don't mind whether it has cruise control or not I would love to connect with the bike at each and every revs. The Ride-by-wire helps a lot while taking the bike from your home to the office roading location, it does make sense...
@@LifeofSmokey I drove it today and its not for me. I like the looks, the feel and the price but stepping from a F700gs thats nearly 10 years old to this its to big of a downgrade. The point is, I am looking for a daily bike to drive and longer distances and a sporty bike. Then I saw the V4 Grand Tour...fuck
So thats how far it flew, whew 😂 Nice i know now, wonderful edit btw and its definitely one of the best review for the bike out there, you simply tested it and it speaks much more than any spec sheet would have done. A bit envious of the ride and the place, looked so much fun! Also, the horn sounds indian? Dude, Explain haha 😅
i swear to god im always shopping for a new vehicle at the worst time. still not ETA for north america and i need a bike upgrade NOW unless I want to pay for ubers for the next 3-4 months until they show up here in the states. seriously im about to put my hand through my wall here im so pissed off about the timing of me needing a bike right now. god i hate life right now. great bike, i probably wont get one and want to jump off a bridge once i see them on the road here in 6 months. thanks for the review. I hate everything right now so much right now over the timing though. shit like this makes me hate living.
Goew bezig Smokey-man. Niet vergeten HymAlayan .. niet HymalAyan .. dju toch die Kempense tongverstuikingen zijn lastig :) wel fonetisch mooi.. Rock on Smokey-man.
I’m just back from a 5 day ride in Uttarakhand with a pillion and I can tell you that the bike is a beast , the local taxi drivers couldn’t catch me on mountains . (Taxi drivers have quite an image for being fast drivers in the mountains as they’re locals and know the terrains very well )
You made me laugh tbrough out the video 😂😂😂😂 thank you!! Did you pinch the other man's bike...hilarious 😂😂😂. I think you were behind username kate on the ride. Well you've got a new follower 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The lack of traction control is sort of surprising with the ride by wire setup and riding modes as well. You say 40bhp isn't much but if you have knobby tyres you don't always have a lot of traction on wet roads! Great review though, good to see someone testing the bike in weird and wonderful ways.
Hey thx man! Yes I try to test bikes in weird ways , way most journalists don't think off. But agree , a knobby tires even with 40hp on a wet road can be dangerous indeed.
You don’t need cruise control on a 450 single the cost goes up ,there’s a manual control out there you just clip it on and work it with your thumb it costs 3-4 dollars it gives you some relief on your hand ,old jimmy Aust
As an Indian, I can confirm the horn does sound Indian🤙🏽
Hahaha…😅 yeah you are right..😂
Indian don't get offended easily
I came here for a review and stayed for entertainment. At some point I forgot about the bike and had fun watching this vlog. This video is a gem.
Appreciate that my man! ❤️🙏
It's a serious adventure bike. Cost-effective to purchase and operate. And it looks so good. Ty Smokey!
Most importantly it's a very versatile bike.
Man, 16:16 these drone shots are insane

Dude was a legend! The whole RE crew was amazing to spend 3 days with.
I'm still laughing for what happend at 20:20 😂😂😂
"You want to do a wheelie?"
Don't go crazy crazy....

One of the best motorcycle reviews I've ever seen.
Me when reading this comment 👁️👄👁️
Christopher!?!! The production quality of the video is awesome!!! Really appreciate your efforts and the review. RE should be thrilled! Great bike!
My man living his life and also making us part of it😊
Seems you got the best air off that jump out of all the journalists in Sardinia :-)
Also, good work with the music and editing!
As far as I'm told by the crew , I overjumped all other journalists 😅🙈
I like how he used someone else bike - "by accident". ;)

Created your own cruise control by hanging your feet on the crash bars. Well done.😅
I'm looking at buying one of these bikes and I can say this video has been the most entertaining video I've watched about the Himalayan!
very nice backroads @ 21:20 made me chuckle hahah
You think I did this on purpose for the male audience 😄

Your video background soundtrack made it even more appealing 😮
Love it - Again with realy good humor, you are my favorite motorcycle journalist and you made an OK jump when you were allowed 💪
Oooh! That jump!!
Loved the review mate...specially the drone shots, they were awesome!
As an owner of this bike, and having ridden 2 stroke Suzukis and everything since then, this is the best choice for a single bike garage 👍

26:57 this is exactly what I would do with my RE during a long ride…you can relax and let yourself float
I think the Himalaya and 650s delivers on the Royal enfield’s philosophy, even more than before of affordable yet capable❤
Love this bike, may be some day I will get it for sure. ❤
man you enjoy every moment too much.. damn you are a actually happy person in life.

Thanks 😁 Spend 8 hours on it lol

My Ducati RS video for example that horn sounds like a Fiat 500 Italian horn. This one sounds like all the horns in India traffic. It's so typical 😅
