  • In this short video I cover how I insulate all the internal panels of my Vauxhall Vivaro campervan conversion. All of the vivaro panels are insulated using PIR foil backed insulation boards and Jablite flexible insulation for the roof. All of the campervan insulation is held in place with a mix of aluminium foil tape and high temperature spray adhesive to ensure the camper insulation will stay in place and ensure the van retains as much warmth as possible over the colder winter months.

    Hi mate,
    Thanks for nice and informative video.
    Would you be able to advise me on following.
    I’m going to install carpet lining in my 2016 renault trafic van.
    The problem I have is a interior lighting.
    I want to replace original lights with led ones.
    Original ones have a 3 wire connection but new led lights only has 2 wires which is positive and negative.
    Do you know how to connect 2 wire lights to 3 wire light system ?
    Many thanks

    This video was super useful, thank you. For the jablite, can you use any spray adhesive or does it need to be specific due to the polystyrene? Thanks

      You can use a light coating of spray adhesive and its ok, but use too much and it melts the jablite

    As always..👍👍 The insulation you have used, is it better than the wool that some people use?

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  Рік тому +2

      people's opinion varies, wool is much more expensive, but has its benefits, but I've always used these PIR insulation boards on all my conversions

      I can't remember if it was 25mm or 40-50mm, just fit as thick as you can fit

    Do you get much panel boom when you dont use some kind of deadening mat on the sides and roof ?

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  Рік тому

      I've never used any deadening material nor ever thought I needed it, it might add benefits but I've never had any issues without it

    Thanks just what I was looking for going todo my work van for the winter, I was going to use a insulation spray down all the litte holes and stuff do u recommend that?

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  10 місяців тому

      it wouldn't hurt to do so as long as you don't use too much, as I've heard of expanding foam distorting the metal panels as it expands if too much is used and it can't escape anywhere

      Could u help me out so i don't order to much?
      Can u tell me how many metres of carpet jablite etc I need to order please ?
      Thank you

      @@williamgallacher5082 not really sure as I already had carpet left over from previous conversions, insulation wise just measure what you need and if you buy too much, return it (thats what I did)

    What thickness insulation have you used for the sides and roof please?

  • @allanb52
    @allanb52 6 місяців тому

    You should first remove the 8 lugs from the roof supports or you wont be able the sit upright in the van.

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  6 місяців тому

      That all depends how high you build your seat/bed, I build seats/beds to be sure I can sit upright and I'm 6'3 tall and have never removed any lugs or braces from the roof of any van I've converted and never had a problem
