I've watched literally hundreds of hours of video covering all aspects of van conversion and in everyway... Everything about your series of videos is a breath of fresh air. Congratulations
Thanks a lot Mark. Glad you like the videos I am trying to keep them as simple and straightforward as I can and also trying to cover every step of the build.
Thanks a lot Fraser. I'm starting another build soon and I hope to video it too. Oh on the insulation pushed down into the well of the body, I put a vapour barrier over it all to stop any moisture build up and that seem so have worked out well.
@@dave-watson I’m on the hunt for a van at the moment - I’m going to more or less copy yours! We didn’t really see how you fixed the rnr bed, or I missed it. Do you go through 1 of the cross members?
Hi Dave, wish I had seen your build when I first bought my van, my conversion had stalled, many reasons, work, moving etc, but I have decided to change certain aspects of my build after watching your videos, nice job mate.
If you do the Wheel arches in small strips then tape over it's very easy with no stress , people do it the Hard way trying to do it in one go. Also you can buy a Drill bit with a drill and counter sink in one , i saw another van builder use it , saves so much time.
Hey Dave, we've been loving your videos! Quick question, what is the difference between the insulation on the floor and the insulation on the wheel hub? 😊
Thanks for the video, Dave. Nice to see a job done well. I put sound dampening insulation on the wheel arches in our van. Those wheel arches are challenging to do.
Hi Dave, I used King span in the bottom parts of my Vivaro ( not right down to the sill area though ), I noticed you push your insulation down on the lower part of your van. This can cause a problem if moisture builds up in the bottom of the sill area which in turn will cause rust and rising damp. Good luck with the rock and roll, ouch my back hurts already. Great video though, nice and clear and showing great steps in a build.
Just bought a LWB Vivaro and find your videos super helpful! Will be referring to these every step of the way. Do you have a digital version of these drawn plans? We’d like to do our conversion very much like this. Thanks
Hi Katie, Thanks for watching and glad to hear the videos are helpful. I'm sorry I don't have a digital copy of the floor plan. But you might be able to take a screen shot from the video. Good luck with your van.
Hello Dave. Just bought myself a Vivaro. I've tried googling the compnay for the rock n roll beds. Can't find it. Do you have the actual website if possible? Thanks, Your videos are a huge help to me :)
Yes its good insulation. I got it from B & Q www.diy.com/departments/diall-insulation-roll-l-6m-w-0-37m-t-100mm/3663602481812_BQ.prd And I also got some thinner stuff for the roof from ebay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175223519782?hash=item28cc22ba26:g:V6oAAOxyuCJRfNCg Hope that helps. Are you going to video your van build?
@@dave-watson that’s great thank you I love how it’s eco friendly! I’ll definitely be using this. Can I ask how many rolls you needed? I’m converting a vivaro too! But it’s high roof
For the LWB Vivaro I used 3 of the rolls of the stuff from B&Q and 12m of the one off ebay. Let me know when you get started start with your videos. And good luck with it.
I used 3 rolls of the suff from B & Q and 12m2 of a thinner type of stuff for the celling and top panels. I think the next video is about the thinner insulation.

Hands down my favourite channel for van builds. Easy going. Everything explained and shown. Cheers, Dave.
Thanks a lot Andy, glad you enjoyed the videos.
This is blooming tremendous stuff. What a lovely, genuine guy you are Dave and it’s extremely clear what your doing.

@@frasermalcolm8695 Hi, The bed came with 4 heavy steel plates that act as spreaders and fit under the van, but no crossmember involved.

GOOD JOB MATE PICKED A FEW IDEAS UP FOR MY VAN

Hey Dave, we've been loving your videos! Quick question, what is the difference between the insulation on the floor and the insulation on the wheel hub? 😊
Hi Alex, Yes the insulation on the floor and wheel arch is the same stuff. It's closed cell foam. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic videos Dave ! Keep up the great content
Thanks a lot, hopefully anther conversion in the spring time.
Thanks for the video, Dave. Nice to see a job done well. I put sound dampening insulation on the wheel arches in our van. Those wheel arches are challenging to do.
Yes the wheel arches are by far the most difficult thing to insulate, a lot of pinching and tucking and plenty of foil tape.

I wondered about the pushing it down in to the well. Knowing nothing about it it struck we there could be moisture collecting down there.
@@frasermalcolm8695 If he doesn't live in a van 24/7, there won't be a few liters of water in there...
What's the name of the shredded plastic bottles insulation?
