Small thing I wanted to point out: I like to think that Blukic and Driba restored the "data dump" feature the AF Omnitrix had. Notice how unlike with the others, Ben immediately knows how to use Kickin Hawk's powers, and almost every new alien after this is a similar case other than kind of Gutrot.
Pesky Dust & The Worst are probably my favorite "useless" aliens we got in this episode. Since they can surprisingly useful in the right situation. Also Kickin-Hawk is badass
The funniest thing about Pesky Dust in this episode is that Ben thinks it's useless but it would unironically have been able to take care of all of the villains without much trouble
I feel like despite how Ben had to train, being able to see how he knows his alien's weaknesses is a nice touch. Since he would have wanted to figure out how to counter enemies that are of the same species of his transformations. Which makes me think that prior to Kevin leaving with Gwen at the start of Omniverse, he was helping Ben with that. Of course, I can just see there being a moment where Kevin just steals Ship from Julie due to how the little guy is the closest Mechamorph and says that he got permission to use him as a test dummy.
this point comes later too in one Servantis episode, Ben is fighting hybrid Kevin and Kevin had Crashopper's legs, Ben kicks one of the leg as he knows Crashopper's weakness they really put a lot of thought in making Ben efficient here
I feel like there are a lot of Omniverse episodes that feel like they were meant to be structured as Ben relearning an old lessen but through the way the conflict is resolved and the story progresses, ends up conveying that Ben was right all along at that everyone else needed to trust that Ben knew what he was doing. While I doubt that is the intended take away for these episodes I feel like that type of subversion works really well with Ben's characterization in Omniverse (as an experienced/deservedly cocky hero) and at least for me treating these episodes as if Rook (or some other character) was the one who was supposed to learn a lesson helps me enjoy these episodes more.
That's what I thought; this episode was not about Ben learning a lesson, but rather Rook (and other characters who didn't meet Ben) learning more about Ben than the other way around.
If you look it up The Worst's listed power is just "invulnerability." It doesn't elaborate on the extent of that invulnerability very much, but my personal headcanon is that in exchange for being a little pudgy space potato that is literally named "The Worst", he's the *only* alien in Ben's arsenal that could *absolutely* survive an encounter with something as powerful as a celestialsapien. Like, The Worst literally couldn't hurt you if he tried, but conversely *you* couldn't hurt *him* even you're omnipotent.
I mean I'm fairly certain a celestialsapien could just *highlight power delete* and kill the worst. But by any mortal means, yeah, he's a walking tank.... just with no firepower
29:09 and ironically enough he’s the most useful out of the “small aliens” he unlocks in this episode especially as he was able to go toe to toe with 1800s Vilgax
At 33:13, I was thinking on a reason why Ben may have to fight a bunch of mechamorphs, when I remembered that the main villain for this arc is a mechamorph. Ben could just use Lodestar against malware.
@InevitableOption-ic2vx yes, but that is counterintuitive because by making them not show up, their toys sold even less. So what they could/should have done was show off these aliens more and even boost their capability so that people would want to buy those toys.
@InevitableOption-ic2vx This is really embarrassing to admit, but I've never actually sat down and watched Ben 10. This series is the first time I've watched the show.
My favorite alien is Pesky Dust. It may look cute, but looks can be deceiving because it has the ability to put people to sleep and manipulate their dreams! Danny had the ability to Dream Walk in the DP episode, " Frightmare" where he had to enter his friends's dreams to save them from Nocturn!
On Kickin Hawk's page on the Ben 10 wiki it say "It is unclear as to how Kickin Hawk was unlocked. Despite having acquired the transformation through a DNA scan, it is implied that Kickin Hawk was never locked in the Omnitrix" But we know Ben can unlock new transformations by scanning a alien he doesn't have at that moment and just because the Omnitrix scanned Liam's DNA allowing Ben to turn into Kickin Hawk I don't think Kickin Hawk's species is in the same situation as the four Anur Aliens and Andromeda 5 aliens it would makes sense that Kickin Hawk's species are in the Omnitrix Database and Ben was able to unlock Kickin Hawk by scanning Liam's DNA
Ben isn't wrong in his point about using the Omnitrix. While he should be able to fight better as Ben, using the Omnitrix to end fights quickly is very pragmatic, and you want fights to end quickly.
Seeing this episode really makes me wonder how many of Ben's aliens are useless or just civilian level like humans. The Omnitrix has over 1 million transformations, so it's bound to have a few that just don't have any special powers or abilities.
I'd actually count Ditto as one of them. Aside from cloning himself, being able to dig underground, and breathing underwater, he's pretty standard. Echo Echo and Slapback are able to be more battle orientated and versatile with their abilities, but Ditto really only has Rob Paulsen as his biggest contributing factor with him.
I think this episode was more about teaching Ben that he'll not always be able to count with changing to a stronger alien to win when things get difficult (just like how he changed to humungosaur when Wildvine wasn't beating Rook) rather than about teaching him to not rely on the omnitrix altogether.
@@Gloomdrake Ben never really grew out of that childish obsession about using the big alien dude that punches hard for everything to begin with. But even then, this was more about Ben having to understand that switching to other aliens isn't going to save him all the time. In the OS the problem was that he used the same strong alien for everything. Here is more about Ben thinking that no matter the situation he's in he'll always get victory due to his ability to switch to something better. Basically, it's him having to learn to work with what he has because he was getting too comfortable with switching aliens as his strategy.
Pyronite Psyphon looks something straight out a death metal album cover and i wished he stayed like that. I also like Kicking Hawk he's pretty badass nice to have another hand to hand fighter and i love his voice being all deep and smooth sounding.
I like to think of the people who said Ben’s useless without the Omnitrix are the people who are more familiar with his legacy then Ben himself think about it Max himself never said Ben’s useless without the watch
Finally, the episode introduced me to Ben 10 and my favourite alien: Kickin Hawk. I know he is a bit overhated, but his significant to me. This episode made him look so cool to 4 year old me.
I love seeing these videos. The attention to detail is amazing. The panel that Ben thought was a vinding machine I think is some sort of AC/ humidifier unit, that's why he could just shove coins in it. Have a good rest of y'all's day.
I like to think the in universe reason for why yuri voices all the "useless" aliens is because the omnitrix was broken so the part of the omnitrix responsible for the vocal cords of the aliens was also glitching so it was just using ben's default vocal cords on the aliens
If i had a nickel for every time one of Ben 10s Villians turned into a rockier, red and white Heatblast fusion, I'd have two Nickels, which isn't much but its strange it happened twice.
23:54 wow props to kellens talent there, these voice effects sound just limke the ones that were used in UAF and some sound better than UAF (omnitrix has such a good voice), thats so impressive
This UA-cam channel has reawakened my love for Ben 10 and drawing. Thanks to this channel, I've taken steps to learn animation and design what the aliens would look like in my style. I even purchased a drawing tablet with a screen. It has made drawing even more fun that it's always been. These breakdowns has also helped me appreciate animation in all shows I watch now (altho I see flaws in them now too lol)
33:09 wow, that weakness to magnetism would really come in handy, if only Ben had a Galvanic Mechamorph as an enemy... (Looks at Malware) ...that would really be useful.
Kickin hawk is easily one of the best aliens from omniverse. He's just a bird lmao. I wish he had a bit more of a personality like rath but hes still dope.
This is one of my favorite Omniverse episodes. I always interpreted it not as Ben learning to fight without the Omnitric, but rather him PROVING he can fight without the Omnitrix, validating his confidence in his own skills. And all the new aliens where super neat additions to the roster. Even if they're not fighting aliens, i'm happy they're there.
It just occurred to me that it would've been funny if the piece Psychobos needed wasn't in the finished Omnitrix, only the prototype. Like, presumably both models have pretty analogous parts, but maybe the Galvans changed the kinds of chips they used in their tech or something, and it wouldn't work with the kind Psychobos used based on the prototype's schematics.
I think the beginning of this episode would’ve worked better if instead of max and took telling Ben to not rely on the omnitrix, they were getting on ben’s case for not practising with certain aliens in case he mistransforms, would make more sense while still working with the theme of ben’s knowledge of certain aliens being the key to saving the day, which would encourage Ben to expand his knowledge of all of his alien transformations
i think that machine Ben lodged a coin into was likely some kind of comms relay station, that coin likely caused the comms to short cirquit and die, hense why they can't reach Azmuth
YES you're doing one of my favourite episodes of the show. One for my fav things about this episode is the designs of Syphon and the others especially Syphons and the other reason I like this ep is the fact that it is just a fun episode and again thank you for covering this ep ❤
My favorite part of this episode is when Ben’s Omnitrix started malfunctioning due to having a piece stolen from it and it covered Ben’s form with a green aura that seems to be hurting him, a pained and straining Ben demanded Rook to focus on capturing the bad guy then help him. It really shows how much of a hero he is that Ben is willing to be in extreme pain if it means that the bad guy is captured before he could hurt anyone else…not that he was trying to, but Ben didn’t know that at the time
one of the best things about omniverse is the love they put in the desing on all stuff like when bens aliens appear as non ben aliens just love how they give them there very own design
I think a sequel series to ultimates overhauled could be giving villains from fiction the outbreak treatment, like Judge Frolo as heatblast, Lord Farquad as walkatrout, Judge Doom (from who framed Roger Rabbit, if you haven’t seen that one, watch till the end) as Upgrade, etc.
@@axelnilsson5124 I feel like giving the predators ultimates would be rolled into ultimates overhauled, but making primal versions of aliens is cool, and could be another sequel series idea
@@researcherchameleon4602 though it does ask how that would work as species can’t devolve and the ultimatrix is supposed to evolve so perhaps the “primaltrix” would simulate the aliens homeworld when newly formed
My thought is that KickinHawk and Liam are not the same genetically. Liam's DNA probably just caused the Omnitrix to select the DNA already in the Codon Stream for the species. Like, sample acquired, oh already have a better version, use that. And I like Pesky Dust best. Especially because of the next time he shows up.
In my own head canon, Liam and Kickin Hawk race are Gallimarquess(galli=chicken/marquess of Queensberry boxing), of the Ruffers variety they street fight/kick boxing. On the planet of Walloon X(the french flag of the Red Rooster/10 is the chinese zodiac number for Rooster), are multiple races of gamefowl aliens like chickens, turkeys, guineafowl, pheasants, and peafowls. Each with their own fighting style similar to how Arctiquana is a Manzardii of the polar variety. Turkeys can be the spartans with their huge tail fans and buff chests Guineafowl can ninjas Pheasant can robin hood type arrow lanchers Peafowls(peacocks) can be emperors with fan blades(lord shen reference) and their natural predator can be a Giant Owl(Rock a Doodle reference) named Shyflights, waiting at night to wisk little Gallimarquess and haunting their nightmares with their ear piercing scream, and their so quiet no one heard them. Kickin Hawk along with Pesky dust, Gravattack, Whampire, and Atomix are my favorite Omniverse aliens.

Also Kickin-Hawk is badass
mine are Pesky Dust and Molestache
Pesky Dust has a really interesting design,
a fairy-like alien is something i had never seen before back then, very creative
Of course, I can just see there being a moment where Kevin just steals Ship from Julie due to how the little guy is the closest Mechamorph and says that he got permission to use him as a test dummy.
this point comes later too in one Servantis episode, Ben is fighting hybrid Kevin and Kevin had Crashopper's legs, Ben kicks one of the leg as he knows Crashopper's weakness
they really put a lot of thought in making Ben efficient here
I feel like there are a lot of Omniverse episodes that feel like they were meant to be structured as Ben relearning an old lessen but through the way the conflict is resolved and the story progresses, ends up conveying that Ben was right all along at that everyone else needed to trust that Ben knew what he was doing.
Like, The Worst literally couldn't hurt you if he tried, but conversely *you* couldn't hurt *him* even you're omnipotent.
prob not that, unless it is invulnerable to hax
also he still feels pain
I mean I'm fairly certain a celestialsapien could just *highlight power delete* and kill the worst. But by any mortal means, yeah, he's a walking tank.... just with no firepower
29:09 and ironically enough he’s the most useful out of the “small aliens” he unlocks in this episode especially as he was able to go toe to toe with 1800s Vilgax
it's either Molestache or Pesky Dust as the most powerful of the four
@@theamazingspooderman2697 Pesky Dust is only really powerful in the dream world while Molestache is powerful physically
@@axelnilsson5124 yeah, lifting a truck is no joke for physical strength, especially for someone his size
LMAOOOOO 1800's vilgax I'm imagining him in a powdered wig and fancy clothes
Using Manipulator as a formant shifter is the equivalent of using a rocket launcher as a can opener
Seriously gets me super excited whenever a new breakdown drops
same lmfao
same lol
we all really like Ben 10 here
really hoping for an announcement for a new show someday
I am like nr 69 btw
At 33:13, I was thinking on a reason why Ben may have to fight a bunch of mechamorphs, when I remembered that the main villain for this arc is a mechamorph. Ben could just use Lodestar against malware.
it's not clear if Mechamorphs are magnetic
@@parry3439 we see in this episode, an 33:10, that mechamorphs are sensitive to magnetic fields.
@InevitableOption-ic2vx yes, but that is counterintuitive because by making them not show up, their toys sold even less. So what they could/should have done was show off these aliens more and even boost their capability so that people would want to buy those toys.
@InevitableOption-ic2vx A shame too, Brainstorm and LodeStar would have been really cool in OV, if they had been used more.
24:21 i LOVE the way they made the omnitrix sound for 5YL
23:45 I LOVE ALL THE VOICES ACTUALLY
I'm guessing that box Ben put a quarter in was a circuit breaker. Some poor plumber probably had their toaster catch fire.
I wish that was the intent, but they wanted him to be 10 year old Ben all over again.
This notification felt like a Christmas present! Thanks Kuro!
But he should know that from the classic series
@@Gloomdrake
Ben never really grew out of that childish obsession about using the big alien dude that punches hard for everything to begin with.
24:08 I feel like Lodestar needs a tiny bit of reverb, maybe sampled from crashing cymbals or something to get that tinny metallic vibe
I like to think of the people who said Ben’s useless without the Omnitrix are the people who are more familiar with his legacy then Ben himself think about it Max himself never said Ben’s useless without the watch
I’ve been watching these breakdowns so much that I’m turning into Kuro when questioning if certain things are CG or not
No joke, everytime i watch a show now i go full Kuro and start to do breakdowns myself.
You know i just realized walkatrout makes a lot of sense from an evolutionary standpoint, like predators can't eat you if you're too slippery to catch
Thats cool
the episode that shows that the omnitrix makes you peak/prime/apex of the species directly.
Finally, the episode introduced me to Ben 10 and my favourite alien: Kickin Hawk. I know he is a bit overhated, but his significant to me. This episode made him look so cool to 4 year old me.
Reminder: We see several Lenopans in the franchise. The only one with a problem with the name 'sludgepuppy' is a big hollywood celebrity.

“I like that his feet are exposed.”
Kuro 2023
If that turns out to be some kind of alien juice dispenser, I'm laughing.
Yes! Breakdowns are back! And Kellen doing the intro is a great start! Let's go!
I love the Ink Tank, The breakdowns, The drawing matrix, and Mr. Rob having fun with his friends! Great stuff 😎
33:09 wow, that weakness to magnetism would really come in handy, if only Ben had a Galvanic Mechamorph as an enemy...
(Looks at Malware)
...that would really be useful.
Kickin hawk is easily one of the best aliens from omniverse. He's just a bird lmao. I wish he had a bit more of a personality like rath but hes still dope.
“What’s humungosaurs weakness?”
Growing because the plot doesn’t allow it
This is one of my favorite Omniverse episodes. I always interpreted it not as Ben learning to fight without the Omnitric, but rather him PROVING he can fight without the Omnitrix, validating his confidence in his own skills. And all the new aliens where super neat additions to the roster. Even if they're not fighting aliens, i'm happy they're there.
12:55 Good thing that Ash isn't here, otherwise we'd be on this screen all day with him gushing about "Gummy Bear Rook".
This is probably one of my favorite episodes just because of how fun it is.
Kickin Hawk always looked cool but he the best "Prime version" example of an scanned alien ben acquires
I have watched Ben Ten since the very beginning. And yet, Kickin' Hawk somehow became my all-time favorite alien. He's just so freaking cool.
This episode has to have the most new transformations in a single episode. Even the pilot only had 4 transformations.
Having weaker aliens like walkatrout and the worst is a good thing. Its what the omnitrix is for, understanding other species by becoming them…
Well, it was nice to see so many new Omnitrix aliens in one episode.
Kellen did great once again. You should do a breakdown with you, Ash, and Kellen. It would be pretty awesome.
So glad my favorite Omniverse alien got the full review treatment.
34:32 that certainly is a name for that fusion
2:15 I'll say it again, doesn't that mean ''way big hero time'' from DAA should count
Hmmm, good point!
33:57 I thought bubble head was pink underneath when we see him without the helmet
29:19 Over 1,000,000 samples in the Omnitrix, and he turns into the guy who's literally standing right behind him XD
i think that machine Ben lodged a coin into was likely some kind of comms relay station, that coin likely caused the comms to short cirquit and die, hense why they can't reach Azmuth
Way too go, Ben. The Omnitrix would have been fixed sooner if you hadn't messed up the communications. How stupid are you?
YES you're doing one of my favourite episodes of the show. One for my fav things about this episode is the designs of Syphon and the others especially Syphons and the other reason I like this ep is the fact that it is just a fun episode and again thank you for covering this ep ❤
11:29 It's the emergency planet destroying missiles, Ben just blew up some random planet 😑
Given that Kellen Goff voiced Overhaul from My Hero Academia, I’m imaging the villain being in terror at being turned into an alien.
Just imagine Overhaul transforming into a petrosapien (or any other alien that contrasts his quirk)
"Use the term loosely" should be added with "hero time" and "wrong alien counts".
I loved how they just made the transformation what ppl like and how they made kickin hawk sound like he was sickkkkk
I think it’s more likely that Ash would give the predators ultimate forms or maybe even make primal forms for the base forms
Also at 19:25 is the classic shocksquatch electricity shot, I feel like there should be a counter for that 😂
Seriously, they need to stop over using that. It's lazy.
I love this episode, I also loved that the aliens had the same voice since the omnitrix was broken
14:40 No Kuro, don't say that, the technical issues are going to come back!
I am so happy you came back whit the breakdowns , and Kellen is back
I'm I the only Mole-Stache fan?
Secretly my favourite omniverse alien. The manliest gentleman
Absolutely. I love the little gentleman.

idk why but i really like the way laggy kuro moves around. hes like an animation without inbetweens
After saving lives, eats chili fries, Ben 10!

Missed these breakdowns. I know why they have to be on the back burner but I still miss having them every week.
My thought is that KickinHawk and Liam are not the same genetically. Liam's DNA probably just caused the Omnitrix to select the DNA already in the Codon Stream for the species. Like, sample acquired, oh already have a better version, use that. And I like Pesky Dust best. Especially because of the next time he shows up.
ah yes nothing like a good breakdown with Kellen goff
In my own head canon, Liam and Kickin Hawk race are Gallimarquess(galli=chicken/marquess of Queensberry boxing), of the Ruffers variety they street fight/kick boxing.
On the planet of Walloon X(the french flag of the Red Rooster/10 is the chinese zodiac number for Rooster), are multiple races of gamefowl aliens like chickens, turkeys, guineafowl, pheasants, and peafowls. Each with their own fighting style similar to how Arctiquana is a Manzardii of the polar variety.
Turkeys can be the spartans with their huge tail fans and buff chests
Guineafowl can ninjas
Pheasant can robin hood type arrow lanchers
Peafowls(peacocks) can be emperors with fan blades(lord shen reference)
and their natural predator can be a Giant Owl(Rock a Doodle reference) named Shyflights, waiting at night to wisk little Gallimarquess and haunting their nightmares with their ear piercing scream, and their so quiet no one heard them.
Kickin Hawk along with Pesky dust, Gravattack, Whampire, and Atomix are my favorite Omniverse aliens.
That sounds really cool
@@boxytheboxmaster1452 I would like to do a homeworld/alien races breakdown like the ink tank do.
