Ter Land, Ter zee en in de lucht, was always so much fun to watch with the family, we still do frequently, I think it's possible one of the best shows the Netherlands ever had.
and dominoday!
Natte Neuzen! It was always so funny when the dogs refused to do the games and just ate all the sausages, jumped walls in the maze or were just playing.
It aired for like 40 years
Stedenspel, Spel zonder grenzen?
There was always an award for the fastest time, but another one for the most original design.
The originality contest always featured many 'carnavalsverenigingen', the Dutch equivalent to Mardi Gras krewes. Lots of beautiful paper maché rides that usually didn't get far. Imagine the amount of time these guys put into such a thing, well aware that it would probably end up in the water about five seconds from the starting gun.... But they were there representing their crew on national TV and definitely had a blast all the way through!
As a secular (boring) Hollander, the entire carnaval culture is very alien to me, but these contestants were always my favorites on this show... You do you, my gloriously insane 'below the rivers' compatriots...
Haha omg you wrote what I thought!
Haha as someone from "below the rivers" I can say that these big pretty ones are just the tip of the iceberg! If covid chills out in a year or so then I defenately invite you to see the parades because they are INSANE
This program was on for 39 years! There is even a Dutch guy who joined 100 times . If all the episodes where to be on youtube you could make a career out of reacting to ‘ter land , ter zee en in de lucht.
The first event you watched in this video, where they had to split and stop near the end, had two categories, one with brakes and one without, the one without resulted in some not being able to stop in time.
The final event with the bikes, the biggest challenges is keeping it straight when you have the bump of coming from the ramp onto the bar. If you can keep it straight past that, you can finish most of the time.
Also a part of the show was that there was a prize for the best build, so teams who made something that looked amazing could still win that if they weren't able to finish the track, and over the years that resulted in some amazing artworks.
There are still several events that were not in this compilation, so I hope we'll see more.
Ter land ter zee en in de lucht (on land, at sea and in the air) is just the best TV show from my childhood.
I hope they re-release this show on TV. Do another reaction. I love it.
The fun of this series always was that it was nearly impossible to take your designs for a trial run, so you'd always end up with a bunch of designs that should _theoretically_ work, but this would be the first time they could actually test it.
Imagine this show but with groups from all over the US.
There is a cultural value to shows like this. Have a show travel around cities and see people compete and have fun in different areas. Just good hearted fun. It brings everyone together. No politics or differences for once, but just trying to ring a bell as fast as possible or as flashy as possible.
I remember, one year someone crossed the tightropes dressed as a sloth and crawling along like one. It took a long time for them to do that too.
Friends of mine once got the best time on "fiets em er in" (the last subject in this video) they just put some plastic toys on a regular omafiets with a rack on the front, one dude sat on the rack and they just raced across that bar. They won one of the first Sony Handycams, which they sold to buy weed and beer.
Awesome!
There was an award for speed, and an award for design.
You should react to more of this, because there are many challenges that aren't shown yet
Some do it just to participate, some do it to the win and they have great designs! ✌🏼
I love this, Te land, ter zee en in de lucht is one of my childhood's favorite show. Yes there are people aiming for the win, but a lot of people join this game for shit and giggles, To have fun and to be on TV to show their creations.
This was always funny 😜 to watch them come down.
They spent weeks working on their creation, it was always a surprise what they made...
Dutch people like crazy things 😉
The program has been on TV for almost 40 years
Thankx 👍🙋🏼♀️🇳🇱
One of the shows any one could sign up , build a contraption for a specific event or all of them and pass the safety checks and off you go for some fun.
These are fun. I had never seen the split track with the two carts that separated.
This Dutch show dates back to the late 70s , with a different presenter, but these games are timeless.
Hihi that is Expert level bicycling right there. You know your dutch when you can ride a bike with a load and more than 1 person and still be able to drive in a straight line. The control of the steering wheel.👍👏
from the Netherlands thanks for the video
This show was so popular in the Netherlands that it frequently had Flemish participants (Begians from Flanders).
The U shaped track, you are almost correct. The need to pass the finish line, but also stop before the fall off. Else it doesn't count. Actually the show came up with many different "themes" so to speak. See the 2nd video first row and third row. (At the end, the promo for other vids.) You will see there are so many funny things in this show, it will continuously blow your mind. (Sorry bit of a fan, as I grew up with this show. It was huge in the 80's and early 90's.)
If I recall correctly you could also win a prize for originality, so thats why some people came with awesome looking rides with a special theming that never stood any change of getting to the bell. Those were the most hilarious to look at falling in to the water though 😅
People could get various prizes. There is the one for best time, but there was also a price for originality and creative design which was/is a jury price
@9:30 theres different prices, fastest but also most original/creative and then a lot of people whos main goal is fun regardless of end position, some would practise daily others would barely finish their contraption in time
At the beam biking it was not allowed to see your front tire. Btw, there were 2 prices, one for the fastest, and one for the most creative vehicle
i still mis this show. it was soo much fun. and immediatly after was "spel zonder grenzen", or in english "it's a knock-out". which was also always fun. i miss my childhood sometimes
Hey this is filmed in the city I live in in Amersfoort on Eemplein its cool to see it has not changed much. And I loved this show as a kid.
You where watching the best of Ter land , Ter zee en in de lucht.. thats why you saw so many different games.. love you reacting on my childhood show 😉😘
12:05
They are actually instructed to do that as that's safer. Keep on the vehicle until it hits the water and then let go.
Dude, you gotta check out ''Ushi And Van Dijk''.. I posted it earlier but I think I got hit with a copyright thing. Anyway, Ushi and van Dijk is a prank show. The lady (wendy) is dressed up as a Japanese interviewer with odd questions. I think my fav is when she interviewed Donny Osmond.
You should try watching Spel zonder grenzen (France: Jeux Sans Frontières (JSF); English: It's a Knock-out; german: Spiel ohne Grenzen; Italian: Giochi senza Frontiere). Its like eurovision but with games. I loved this show 🤣
Thank you for the suggestions! Added to the list :)
Holding on to the bike when crashing in the water is kinda smart .. When letting go to early you could crash on top of the bike and possibly hurt yourself
You don't want to look at your front tire, you have to look where you are going otherwise you make to much adjustions.
There is a series where they try to fly. Think Red Bull did the later in the USA.
all vehicles in ter land ter zee en in de lucht are made and designed by the contestants themselves and so far you all only saw just a few of the many games that the show had
Sooo when do we seee the texas version of ter land ter zee en in de lucht? Lol 🤣
You have to watch bommetje
Not everyone cared to be fastes. The wanted an original build
The point of the cycling gane is that you're not allowed to see the front tyre
You take it to serious!
Most of them are there just for fun.
Dunno if you've seen it yet. but there was also this guy:
ua-cam.com/video/y0zZy5icDno/v-deo.html
who kept working on being the most original contestant xD
(and there's more stuff like that. Where they also award a prize for the best looking/ the most well made contraption or creation)
A lot of people made huge cluncky stuff cuz theres aslo a prize for prettirst bike/boat/car
You are not allowed to see your fronttire in the last game.
It’s about participating for most with some funny looking thing. Not even serious about making it. I guess some were drunk signing up. It’s suppose not to be serious. There was a first price also for the best looking or most ingenious ride.
Ron boshart is the biggest legend
I heard that there will be a new season of this!
On the last game is not allowed to see your frontwheel.
Ah. Thus my arrow idea would be genius!
This one doesn't include my 3 favourite ones: Gein op het plein, heen en weer and snel naar de bel.
It's just fore fun and trying to be dry on the other side
ua-cam.com/video/w46RTqZscoM/v-deo.html More of Te land, ter zee en in de lucht, from aug 23rd 2014
Thank you for the suggestion! Added to the list :)
there even more events with weird stuff
I love your reaction 😂 keep it up
by land by sea and in the air ;p
You need to watch "achteruit rijden"
Or the carvan race it's also from the same show
Thank you for the suggestion! Added to the list :)
It is not all about winning it is olso mainly dit fun
😄🙃
can you react to Out of the Picture (Buitenbeeld) - Thunderdome -
it is very funny
Thank you for the suggestion! Added to the list :)
If you like this show, you might also like Jeux Sans Frontieres (Games without borders). European countries that compete against each other in weird games and dressed in silly costumes. Absolutely epic. ua-cam.com/video/w5-DHYRy-d0/v-deo.html
