I missed out on the Gundam games when I was a kid :( :( :( . My first Gundam game was in Fall 2014 when I bought Gundam Battle Assault Two. Then I bought Gundam Encounters in Space, Gundam v.s Federation, and Gundam Seed : Endless Tomorrow. I want to get Gundam vs Zeta but its super expensive now.
At least you acknowledged the fact that it was annoying playing as a nameless grunt. This is why I felt it was a shame you didn't review Gundam vs Zeta Gundam since it still had the one year war plot but you also played through Gryps and you even play as your favorite characters IN the campaign. As for the difficulty, blame good ol Capcom for that. (You know, the guys that game us the entity known as SHIN AKUMA?!)
Don’t you unlock unique suits and armors for arcade mode? I feel like I had Big Zam in there. Loved this game, and loved griefing the ace pilots in story mode. Put way too much time into it. Oof, you had a rough time. Those caution arrows indicate an attack is coming at you from that direction.
Yeah, while you've got like 3 enemies from all directions leaving you almost no room to actually dodge. Rought time? More like "blow my brains out time of a time". You might as well be wearing a sign around your neck telling the enemy that your ass is public use, and you're in prison.
Dont get me wrong, I love Journey to Jaburo for introducing me to Gundam.... but FUCK the last level of the campaign. Getting repeatedly stunlocked by Char's Z'Gok was infuriating because he could just sponge so many hits
That was a very fun video, nice job dude. Btw I've got federation vs Zeon but on the dreamcast, and the online multiplayer is still "active" and it's real fun to play.
I loved these Gundam games. But when i was a kid in the 2000s and i rented games at Blockbuster and Movie Gallery (RIP to both except the last Blockbuster still going) they never had Gundam games on PS2 at store. The only way for me to get them was to buy them and it was worth it. Until X Play came in and bash Gundam fans like myself for liking those games as they hate Anime shows and their games.
Honestly if we knew each other as kids IRL we would of been best friends. Toonami Anime PS1-2 video games. Late night or early morning watching Inuyasha, Trigun Outlaw Star, Gundam. I wish I could rewind time. I miss my childhood.

The only Gundam games I played for the PS2 was Mobile Suit Gundam encounter in space. You could play the original through mobile suit gundam series as Armour, and an ace side stories from the other gundam series the one year war. Gundam vs Zeta Gundam was a hit or miss for especially unlocking the alternate outcomes. Finally Gundam seed game was ok for me. PS3 Gundam dynasty warriors 3 WTF BANDAI?
I remember staying up late to watch uncut Wing and even thought it was just mild profanity I was still floored because I had never heard swearing in animated shows.
L2N to Thermal son. ~This post was brought to you by max expanded range thermal crew (Clarification: Radar: good for wide open areas with no obstacles. Trees, buildings, and walls block its LoS. Sonar: good for semi enclosed areas or checking for enemy movement, doesn't pick up nonmoving enemies Thermal: god given form. Picks up everything within its range and doesn't care about obstacles, walls, or cover. Only mitigated by its short range...which with the best upgrade is only a few meters shorter than sonar.)
Lmao, this was a great video dude. Federation vs Zeon was my first Gundam game and one of my first PS2 games as a kid. I still have the game disc, but it's scratched as all hell and doesn't work. Time to find another copy and re-live my childhood! And the horrid lock on system 😂. I'm not certain gundam games will ever properly figure out lock on systems. The one I have rn, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, has an incredibly janky auto-lockon system lol.
Well, if someone does well enough, he's bound to wonder who they are. He at least reluctantly respects his opponents skills I'm sure, if they are actually skilled.
Gundam: federation vs zeon was my first game ever. And for that it will forever be in my memory. My god when I heard that victory music....oh the memories. 🥰
I was to dumb for Zeonic front as a Kid, I simply brute forced my way through the first bit (Had all three units take the same direction and overwhelm everything) until the attack on Jaburo where I got stuck.
@@KaiserTriggerThe last one I mentioned has the exact same mechanics as the journey to jaburo. Yes, it is clunky. Yes, the jumping mechanics still works. But it's not like journey to jaburo which only has 9 missions in total. The missions here are side stories. And there are many missions here, for both feds and zeon side. And you can select your mobile suit and your partner's mobile suit before going on a mission.
The original Gundam got cut short on Toonami anyway because 9/11 happened. My favorites are the side story games because at least they've got their own story and characters going on like Zeonic Front. The ones that just go over the established Gundam stories tend to be really phoned in. Unfortunately a lot of them like Rise from the Ashes and Blue Destiny are usually really short. The longer Gundam games tend to be the ones with Zero plot that you just play because you like the mobile suits. I like Gundam vs. Zeta, but the interesting "what if" paths are made a lot less interesting by there being pretty much no storytelling.
Gundam vs Zeta Gundam was better than Federation vs Zeon. That being said, I beat Federation vs Zeon campaign using just Zakus because... Zakus rule. The Zaku II, the normal one is one of the best suits in the game in my opinion, at least when fighting on terrestrial battles, space battles can kiss my ass! Secret, machine gun and missile pods best weapon combo. Basically the Machinegun can repeatedly hit someone without knocking them down yet each burst staggers enemies so they can not fight back, which allows for very quick damage. Missile pods you jump into the air dodge left or right and while flying sideways from the enemy hit the missile button and spam a burst of missiles, one is bound to hit something.
I've never heard of it. And keep in mind if it's anything like PS3 or PS4, I've never had that chance. I've always been stuck with the PS2 games back in the day, and only played those games mainly. If I get the chance, I'll try it out then.
Played all of them back then. The 2nd game was the first released in PS2 so it is older than the first one (VS series) I remember that I didn't like VS much, it doesn't feel like gaint mecha. The 3rd one zeon front is the best, it is not RTS tho, they copy gameplay from rainbow six (old pc game not the modern siege one) You miss another good PS2 gundam game, can't remember the name. It is very similar to 2nd one but more MS and better story and more agile movement.

Lock on systems can be jank in a lot of games where the biggest catch is playing as your favorite mobile suits, and not as much so on the gameplay.

Gundam was a secret plot by Osama confirmed!

No, it was because of low ratings because people dismissed the animation since at that point it was already over 20 years old.
