my favorite random interaction: fa: "i don't need your pity! i'm a pilot, just like you!" kamille: "it's because of people like you that this war will never end!" fa: "sorry, i'll take a rain check!"
I fucking love Setsuna just shouting randomly I AM A GUNDAM. especially when someone else just said something philosophical or reflective. And here is this maniac screaming "WE ARE GUNDAMS!" love 00 XD
Yeah, I really wanted the line "Haro loves to go on long walks" from Lacus as well but didn't have her unlocked yet. Their nothing statements are my absolute favorite!
I played the shit out of 3. This was back when I was borrowing a lot of games, I didn't own that many myself, and that was one I borrowed from a friend. I think I played it more than he did!
DWG was my first ever introduction to Gundam and it was one of my fondest memories with my cousins. We lived in different states and only got to see each other maybe once a year at best and whenever we did see each other we’d spend hours and hours playing this game together. The music and dialogue are so nostalgic to me I can even recall some lines. Who would’ve thought my Gunpla addiction now was all thanks to this game
Seeing a lot of stories like these! Seems like this game really hit at the right time! Definitely a good game to get you introduced to any series! Thanks for watching!
As a huge DWG fan, I really enjoyed this! I definitely agree with all your points and how you ranked the games. DWG3 really is an improvement on almost everything from the original, but I almost prefer the simplicity of the first game. The second title just felt messy and I was upset I couldn’t use the Japanese voices (they’re what I grew up watching). Nice work on this video!
I didn't even consider if you could change the voices or not. I grew up with the actual English voice actors! 2 just really came off more frustrating than the others. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
@@PragmatikReviews I would a dynasty warriors Gundam game with Barbatos, seriously Mika is a one man army and the dynasty warriors style would be perfect for him
@@duncananderson2113 I can totally see him wrecking in a dynasty warriors game. With IBO, Witch of Mercucry, and Thunderbolt there is lots of potential for new suits for a fresh new game!
I never saw the Anime’s but this series made my childhood. I spent so much time 100% each slowly. You’re the only person to make a video on the games so thanks a lot.
The first one was probably one of my favorite games as a kid, I could never get into the other two. Funnily enough I have never been into either Gundam or dynasty warriors. I’m still mad that it isn’t backwards compatible.
I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who liked the first one so much. Gundam and dynasty warriors are things you have to be into, but they seem to work pretty well together to just enjoy.
great video, this one in particular is that kind of game that no one I know ever knew about netherless gundam as a whole, very few people can relate to the experience speacially in the west
Thanks! I can credit this game for making me dive deeper into the gundam franchise. And while I had a lot of experience with Mosou games, this one was by far one of my favorites!
I honestly prefer ground battles just because the space maps always felt kinda empty to me, I also didn't like how I had to wait to get on the same altitude as my enemies before I could attack
@@PragmatikReviews because of the Graphic style they went with, it was a different engine and for some reason the "Flying" thing was horrible for that engine.
I grew up with 1,2,and 3, 2 being my favorite but 3 was the most fun to play! These games had so much potential I wish there was a 4 released for the ps5. I really liked how different characters from different serise interacted with eachother finding that some have similar motivations or express themselves in ways that weren't in the anime
There is a fourth game. DW Gundam Reborn, or Shin Muso Gundam. It's on Vita and PS3. The PS3 version was localized into DW Gundam Reborn. The PS3 version is digital only in the US.
@@viraticwars I mention it briefly at the end of the video. Still would love to see it for ps5! Or just a new one in general really! Thanks for checking out the video. I really need to pick up Reborn soon.
@@PragmatikReviews Really, Reborn is the only one of the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games I have no intention of ever playing. Why? Because it has no english voice acting. This would be bad enough on it's own, but the rest of the series had no problem getting full english voice acting that just makes it glaring. Regardless, I probably won't touch the series again until they do what they should've done already and make customizable original characters.
My first experience was with DWG2, where it was one of the earliest games that ten year old me got for the PS2, and that game was basically my gateway to the Gundam series as a whole; thus, I have fond memories of it. That being said, I do think each of the three games have their own charms
Oh absolutely! You know correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the PS2 ONLY have DWG2 on it? I know I always see it for ps2 but not the others. Has to be some reason for that. and I agree for sure that each one has its own charms for sure!
@@PragmatikReviews Well, DWG1 did get a PS2 rerelease, Gundam Musou Special, in Februar 2008, but it's Japan-exclusive (as the Musou title implies). It's probably not exported because of timing (DWG2 came out in Japan on November that year, with the Western release on April the next year, so I imagine Koei and Bandai Namco didn't want to bother with the possibility of both games "eating" each other's gains). The one game that I don't really understand why it didn't get a PS2 port is DWG3; I can understand why Reborn didn't, considering that by then (late 2013 for Japan, mid-2014 for the West), Sony has discontinued their support for the console.
@@DavidHutchinson0713 Hard to say. maybe 3 would of been pushing it too hard? It did have tons of assets on screen for what it was, but I do feel like 2 did as well.
@@Mabdog3597 DWG2 is actually the ONLY Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game to come out on the PS2 everywhere outside of Japan; the Japanese got an expanded re-release of the first game for the PS2 in February 2008. DWG3, however, was exclusive for the PS3 and the 360.
I remember when I first bought and started playing DWG2, I wound up having Milliardo, Domon and Puru show up as a random event. They were practically the Team Rocket of that game, and I loved any time their event showed up from then on.
I found DWG2 for the PS2, fell in love with it. I decided to go after DWG3... got the first one by mistake from Amazon, then got DWG1 and manage to find Reborn. THEY'RE ALL SO AMAZING GAMES. I feel like Reborn was decent but took away some charm from past games but still such a blast. DWG3's other problem is the health meter. That thing either breaks or wins the game and it's oof, painful. DWG2 I can't say anything bad. I had the most fun. DWG1 feels slow but I did have a lot of fun with it too. Overall... MAKE DYNASTY WARRIORS GUNDAM 5 OR 4! I DON'T CARE, MAKE IT.
@@PragmatikReviews Reborn has probably the simplest upgrade system once you get it but overall it's fun. I will say, we do need more DWG. Or at least more PC games that don't crash.
I will absolutely refute those criticizing this series for lacking "depth". It's a musou series! Don't go looking for depth in a kiddie pool. Loved how Double X and GP02 just auto cleared fields by simply using their aerial special attacks.
That's my thought too, but if I'm gonna be real, making stories blended around characters from different series was a pretty good scenario for a mosou game!
1 3 and Reborn are my faves, not that 2 didn't have its sparks. One especially did a neat job really making a "real" story making cross interactions between everyone. I wished they could really sit down and figure out how to do that again, but it's like they started focissing on "moments" in 3 and beyond after adding so many more characters.
@@PragmatikReviews It was a bit strange, but made sense to a degree. Now I really gotta fire up the PS3 and indulge (as well as get to this backlog of gunpla 😭 RG NU is calling)
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 is the game that made me love Gundam games. And Gundam in particular. But after playing Gundam Assault Survive (and other Battle series games) I am very dissapointed how badly shooting mechanics were done in this game.
Oh that was something I should of touched on. Yeah the shooting is something I ever really did. it's so one-directional and depending on who you're playing as, maybe not even worth it.
DW Gundam reborn was really fun. I liked being able to play my own soundtrack in the game so I’d download Gundam music and have that play in the background. The DLC for it was pretty decent too. Dabbling back to it occasionally, the graphics are pretty dated though, and it runs like crap. Hope a new one gets released on current gen and simply call it Gundam Warriors. 🙏
I'm so ready for a new installment! I'm gonna try and pick it up but it's definitely getting up there in price! I think that's the first time I've ever heard of performance issues with that title! Thanks so much for watching!
I found a copy of DW Gundams 1 at my local game shop for $20 and almost bought it today. Your review made me think I should have, so I’ll go back to get it tomorrow.
Best combo ever is playing Wing Zero and summoning Deathscythe. He creates a tornado of hate that sucks everyone in. While he does that, you hop into the air and unleash Zero's buster cannon.
So, I did like DWG2 for two major reasons: we got the first official English voices for several series (because their series had yet to be officially dubbed), and some of the character's Mission Stories. It was REALLY fun to hear Kelly Sheridan as Roux Louka (for reference, she's Miharu Ratokie in the 0079 series dub, and she's Louise Halevy in Gundam 00), and Andrew Francis made for a great Judau Ashta. The Mission Stories made for some wild scenarios. Emma Sheen's in particular was notable. For hers, the setup was that she was running simulations of historical events, and changing things up too see possible outcomes of thins going differently. Two of them were "If Zeon managed to mass-produce the Big Zam" (You had to fight THREE of them), and "What if Quattro Bajeena actually switched sides and fought AGAINST the AEUG during the Battle of Gryps 2?"
I do need to give 2 a little more time. It is kind of insane to imagine how many voice actors in for these games! seems insane for the time. And I will always say that 2 had a lot more to offer than 3 now that's I've really had them side by side.
@@PragmatikReviews The dubbing company in charge of the DWG line had a REALLY big talent pool to pull from, and it helps that they love their craft. Only one I can recall who didn't reprise their role was Domon, and that was because he changed careers by then.
Heero absolutely OBLITERATING an entire field with a singular ultimate move is honestly hilarious. He levels up really quick, and it’s just fun and chaotic to play as him. He’s a powerhouse.
Always wanted this back when I had a ps3. You convinced me to find a way to play the 1st and 3rd ones this year. As much as I like Zelda, and the hyrule warriors artstyle, nothing looks cooler than playing as gundams.
I'm happy to hear that! It might be on sale digitally? If not, I still think they are pretty affordable. The third one might be the highest, but they are worth it!
These are my favorite Gundam games to this day. So much detail in these for the time. I just finished playing SD Gundam and they don’t compare. Kinda wish they brought back Gundam Battle Assault too.
Love to see the love towards the first DWG game, the original modes crossover stories remained true to the characters and I love it for it, and the team ups were amazing. I want another DWG installation that improves the first DWG original mode, they have the characters to pull it off.
They more than have the Characters. Could really make some interesting Mashups. Io Flemming with Kira Yamato would be hilarious. I'd love to see a revamped DWG1 for sure!
@@PragmatikReviews Same, I also miss the stages in the first game, they were the biggest and the best, and got smaller as the sequels came out. Also as a nitpick I miss when the Gundam cast wore their spacesuits & helmets like they did in the first DWG game. A small change but something I miss.
Great review mate. Always enjoy personal experiences thrown into the mix. I loved this series. I really wish we would see a return to this series. I would love to see this series be as glossy as the dragon quest heroes series.
This brought back memories. My first was DWG, which I played at a friend's, but then I ended up getting the 3rd one. Still own it today and got all the mobile suits and DLC, just to get all of Celestial Being.
We really need a new entry in the series or at least a way to play the old ones on modern platforms. I will forever keep my PS3 to play stuff like this.
The first DWG was the reason for getting me into the Gundam series/the mecha genre to begin with. Never looked back since and have loved the series. I personally prefer how DWG 1 looked over 2. DWG 1 had this dirty look for the mecha which I loved. 2 was polished and clean, which I ended up appreciating later on. 3 was that nice blend of HD using cell shading. Fun fact, most of the Gundam series before the theatrical release of Unicorn, were dubbed in Canada. All but ZZ, After War Gundam X, Victory, and Turn A. So if some of these voices sound familiar, especially to the western audience, then that's because they are who you think they are. Amuro/Setsuna is Brad Swaile, voice actor of Light Yagami from Death Note. Duo's voice actor is Scott McNeil who is Blanca from the old Street FIghter and Proto Man from the Mega Man tv series. What's interesting is...the voice changes towards some characters. Gundam fans would already know this, but Domon Kasshu's VA is Mark Gatha, who became a doctor. Milliardo's VA ended up voice Heero due to death threats made to the voice actor (I could be very wrong about that so don't quote me on that). Kamille (who is indeed a girl's name) had like 3 different voice actors, 1 in the anime and 2 in the game. I could go on and on, but due know that these 3 games are the only times, if you're a dub watcher like myself, you can hear Elpeo Puru, Puru 2, Loran Cehack, Uso Ewin, Garrod Ran, and Tiffa Adill in english. Honestly, those voices aren't bad. Especially after watching their respective shows. Anyways, if you're interested in seeing some more character interaction like Milliardo interacting with Domon and Puru 2, then check out the Super Robot War series. If you have a Switch or a PS4, then I recommend getting SRW V/X/T since those have been translated by Southeastern Asia and are compatible with the Switch or PS. If you're looking for a more recent SRW game then get 30, it's on Steam. To put it simply, SRW is a series that's like Smash with it's crossovers, but with mecha, and plays like Fire Emblem, but with Mecha. Crossovers with shows such as Getter Robo (mainly Armageddon which is just absolutely amazing), Mazinger Z, the Gundam series (mainly with Amuro so the original Gundam or Char's Counterattack), Neon Genesis Evangelion, Code Geass, and so on. It's basically "Hey, if you like using *insert character name* from *insert name of anime*, go watch the anime," type of thing which is a nice way of people who like using those units might be interested in watching their show and see how they interact within their own world. For example, DLC pack 2 in 30 contains...Ultraman... To which was a good way for me to watch on Netflix since I was interested in seeing where they came from. Now Ultraman is not the first of the "But why though?" when an anime is inserted into SRW. T has Cowboy Bebop... It also helps fix some characters by giving them the character development that they never received or were robbed of. Looking at you Shinn Asuka from Gundam S.E.E.D. Destiny. People who've seen Destiny, dislike him. But there are those who have played SRW and have fallen in love with the character. It's worth your time if you want to watch other mecha series and create your dream team of mecha.
I do so like the artstyle of the first game as well. I do appreciate the sleaker look of 2, but gotta love the first one. And I'm more familiar with English VA's than anything else, and I appreciate them, always thought they sounded good! As for Super Robot Wars, I'm well aware of it, but haven't actually dove into one yet! I'm up for recommendations and thanks so much for watching!
@@PragmatikReviews As a gunpla builder, I really love the messy look they gave them in DWG 1. TL;DR: I'd recommend V, X, T, or 30 since those are in English, no patches required and are available on Amazon or PlayAsia. 30 is on Steam for NA/EU and it's still getting updates to this day along with new DLC. You can start off on any of the SRW games since they're their own stories...for the most part. The ones you would have to look out for would be like Alpha 1, 2, 3 and Z 1, 2, 3 and OG since those have a continuous story line. There were 3 other SRW games that came out before for NA but two of them are on GBA (to which these two have an anime called Super Robot Wars OG The Divine Wars and The Inspectors which also got a PS2 release that makes the GBA games non-canon) and the other is on DS which is called Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier which is a turn based rpg involving Xenosaga which was created by Atlus). Here's what you can expect from the games recommended. V: it involves Crossbone Gundam: Skull Heart, Crossbones Gundam: Steel 7, Hathaway's Flash, Shin Mazinger Zero VS the Freat General of Darkness, The Brave Express Might Gaine, Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon, and many more. X: Reconguista in G, Mashin Hero Wataru, Buddy Complex Final Chapter, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Warer, and many more. T: Expelled From Paradise, Arcadia of my Youth: Endless Orbit SSX, Cowboy Bebop, Magic Knight Rayeartch, Getter Robo Daikessen, and many more. 30: SSSS.Gridman, Brave Pilice J-Decker, King of Kings: Gaogaigar Vs Betterman, Knight's & Magic, Mazinkaiser (Infinitism), Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion III - Glorification, Sakura Wars V: So Long, My Love (DLC), Netflix's Ultraman (DLC), and many more to come.

@@PragmatikReviews I hope that I did a good enough job explaining which ones to go for. That's awesome. I've been dying to get a couple of the new ones that came out last year such as the RG Hi-Nu Gundam and MG Gundam Virtue. I've recently just started airbrushing, so I'm using old kits to experiment and learn as I go...while also watching a lot of videos on learning how to use an airbrush and whatnot.
Honestly, I wish these games would come to PC at some point. I'd love to play them with friends for hours on end, I just love gundam, man. Great video!
I played 2nd for 250 hours, then start playing 3rd and stopped playing 3rd. There are so many new good and bad, that I just can't played it more than hour. Unlike 2nd was amazing development of 1st Thanks for the review)
If I was fighting any boss level stage I make sure I'm armed to the teeth with extreme high level stats to make it easier my favourite gundam is the strike freedom gundam
@@PragmatikReviews ever played a level that was stuck on hard mode until you clear it dynasty warriors gundam reborn had some very difficult level's had to use the destroyer gundam for those level's
I honestly don’t like the 3rd one. I don’t like the corridors in between fields instead of open maps, I don’t like the lack of the offical story I want to recreate battles from the anime like 1 and 2, the graphics are insane but that’s it for me. I tried it and was open to it but I just had to go back to 1 and 2. I want to try reborn 1 day but one thing about it that disappointed me was the lack of a dub.
@@PragmatikReviewsIt’s very expensive now days it’s crazy! I would prefer to just emulate it because of the price, there doesn’t seem to be roms of it on the trusted websites. Eventually I’ll get it because it would be a neat collectable thing to me. But 3 to me obviously looks great, the audio, music all that is great. I like that some fields have bonuses and reasons to take them over. But I really love those open maps. I love that actual story. When I played 3 it sort of felt like “here are some guys you need to beat now” without any meaning as to why. But I will come back eventually and try again. I want to like it but I just love 2 and 1 lol
@U9DATE Oh totally understandable. I need to give 2 a bigger shot since everyone says it's got a way more in-depth relationship mechanic. As for the price for Reborn...yeah emulation sounds like the right way to go. Until they let you buy it on later consoles, it's just the way to go.
@@PragmatikReviews I hope you do a Reborn review at some point. I have it on my PS3 and also Imported it for the Vita, cause for some stupid reason it was never brought over.
Imagine a dynasty warrior gundam HD games collection on ps4 and ps5 maybe with a few fixes and extra or extra stuff on dynasty warrior gundam reborn like novel characters crossbone characters and maybe code fairy. barbados. High nu gundam and nightingale. And so much more especially with much units we hafe from novels now you know wat we need a HD collection and a new game! Maybe also a mode that's called randomizer all enemies and stages completely at random both offline and online
DWG is what got me into Warriors. Just a shame 3/reborn took out what made 2 good (individual stories for each character, faction stories etc). Would LOVE to see a new one and/or a Gundam Empires one.
I love the DWG games! With my favorite being Shin Gundam Musou/Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn along with DWG1 and DWG3 tied in 2nd. While DWG2 was my first entry into the series. And after playing the other games, DWG2 has became my least favorite, because that game has alot of issues that I cannot ignore and it absolutely hurts it, in my opinion.. It has a few good elements that I like, but the rest of it, meh.. Any way, this was a pretty good review of the DWG games. Thank you so much for covering them. I hope you don't mind if I give you a tip on the first Dynasty Warriors Gundam on collecting parts for suits. Here's one for you. If you want the best parts for your Mobile suits, I highly recommend playing on Hard Difficulty and play Amuro's first stage on Official mode. Hard Difficulty drops better parts than Easy and Normal. Although there are some you can't get, unless you play on easy or normal. It will get tedious, and I mean really tedious, but It's the best level in the game to grind for the best parts, like the Control Circuit or Musou Units. My favorite being Rain's Future Prediction Program. No Heath Bonus and little defense, but abilities like Critical Up and Dash Speed Up makes up for it. Now you don't have to do it with Amuro, since everybody can farm them on their own stages on the Hard Difficulty. I just think Amuro's first stage is alot more easer to grind for them, since you can fight alot of enemy pilots and they can drop 4 to 5 parts sometimes, Although your chance of getting parts will get lower the more you earn them. I know it's not much, but I thought I help you out a little, if you don't mind. I'm sorry about this long comment.
It's something to keep in mind whenever I inevitably pick it up again! And I don't mind the long comment. I am glad a lot of people share my feelings with 2. I love it, but I felt it was a dip down in fun. I seriously need to pick up Reborn sometime! and I love your name. Blaze the Cat rules haha
24:43 You should give it a shot if you still haven't played it. It combined things I liked from each game. The mobile armor (giant enemy) fights are still pretty tedious though.
I came to know of the existences of these games back in 2014. By then I had already watched most of the Gundam series and was watching Turn A while beating the first DWG. I really loved it! So much that I didn't stop until I 100% it. Then I got the second, waiting to see an improvement, and boy it was good! Being a fan of the series I enjoyed to play MSG, Z, ZZ and CC from the perspective of the main characters. Playing as Char from his viewpoint was great as well! I very much enjoyed playing as Seed Characters, as well as having the possibility to play as every mass-produced mobile suit from the U.C. era. The Mission mode was a treat too! Each mobile suit in this game felt unique in design, mobility and attack pattern! I leveled up my favorite characters up to the max, eventually turning them into Newtypes. I also put lots of time trying to max out frienship levels with my faves, but the ones that succeeded the most were Loran and Roux Louka for me. With such a complete Gundam game the bar was set very high for me, so I went for the third one dying to play the Laplace incident, F-91 and Victory storylines plus all the previous ones. Like, having a complete U.C experience with upgraded graphics and all mass-produced suits up to the VESPA ones. Hey, even the G Saviour, Sumo and a returning Turn X, if they decided to count the Correct Century into the storyline! Or even further, playing the whole Seed or Wing storylines, with Leos and Djins at your disposal and all. So you can imagine my surprise (or rather deception) when I turned on my Xbox 360 on DWG3 only to find out that there wasn't any story mode of any kind and instead they throwed at me random characters from every Gundam universe! I played as the 00 for about five minutes, but it was such a letdown that I never touched the game again. Neither came back to the original. Simply because 2 is the definitive version for me. It's everything a DWG should be. If the series gets a remake someday, I hope they will hold into account any of the ideas I've thrown up in here. Thank you for the review! :) (P.S: I love the Nu-Gundam as well. It's up there as my favorite of all time along with the Wing, the Freedom and the Zeta ❤)
Thank you for watching! You may be one of the few commenters that came into these games actually watching most of the series. This was an opener for a lot of us. Sounds like that really opened up more details for you! I really need to give 2 more time since people seem to really stand by it!
The "Leadership" skill will compensate for allied pilot lack of skill or straight out boldness. Maybe I need to give DWG3 another chance and enjoy it for what it is. An action-packed Gundam game, focused more on battle than in the storyline. Thanks to you, I now know there's a Berserk Musou out there, so I'll be looking for it! I actually started to look for this series because I bought another musou game based on a popular anine: Hokuto no Ken (kwown as Fist of The North Star in the West). Thank you for these vids. You got yourself a new suscriber :)
@Francisco Andrés Vega Yeah that Berserk game is seriously getting up there in price. I heard of that Fist of the Northstar game but haven't played it! I may have to check it out and thanks for subscribing!

Sailor Moon Warriors would be great, but if I may: Final Fantasy Warriors Dragon Ball Warriors Power Ranger Warriors Transformers: Warriors of Cybertron Unbalanced Force: Star Warriors Warhammer 40K: Primarch Warriors Bandai, plz.
I feel like final fantasy would be the next obvious step after Dragon Quest. But you're right, there are so many franchises deserving the Musuo treatment! Bandai plz
I recently had an itch to play these to dug out my DWG3 DISC and ripped it to my PC and started playing it with RPCS3 then i noticed that there was a 4th game DWG Reborn so i've been playing that. Dont know how i missed that release maybe cuz it was psn only in NA. Its been a blast i really like the additions/improvements they made.
2, always and forever. It just hit that sweet spot. And I love me some extra modes in my Dynasty Warriors games, and 2 had the best in my opinion. Sure, it might not have had some of your favorite suits. But it had a great roster, a great selection of story modes, and the mechanics and grinding was JUST right. The maps and art direction in 3 really sucked to me, and for some reason Reborn just felt too "busy".
Unfortunately for me i never got to play the original but i started with 2. I liked 2 but (i couldn't get over the worst part of that game the friendship system) in my opinion. Some missions required a friendship of a certain character at a certain level, that really pissed me off. It takes so long for a character's friendship level to go up once they're at the bottom. Upgrading MS & gundams were rather too difficult for me. gladly 3 fixed most of the problems i had with 2 especially the friendship system. (thank god) upgrading was a lot easier too. i played 3 so much i maxed out the play time counter lol. reborn is my absolute favorite tho. thanks for the review
No problem! You maxed the counter? haha I know I didn't play that much! But yeah there were just so many characters in 2 you had to work these friendships with. Took too much time to me. Thanks for watching!
10:00 *record scratch* In samurai warriors 2, the main characters are given two unique special abilities. Oichi abilities are Summon aid that summons one of the very special npc fighters and Ally boost/heal. That can heal people around you. Being yes likely the first. Unless a musha game allowed healing items used to heal party members or when one piece used its " im nearly dead please save me," heal circle
I didn't know that. It would be the first I've heard of a mechanic implemented so early. I've had a few examples but maybe not this soon. Weird that they didn't just keep trying to make methods to heal!
@Pragmatik most of their abilitys tend to be special attacks, throws, ninja clones, summon horse, orother features. I recall finding memory cards in ps2 DW2 to save in mid battle. Which other games could offer free saveing by choice. But ya not many have any method of recovery. Unless its a major base or some crazy ability owned by one character.
I own all three of these games on the 360 and they're all really good games. They each have their ups and downs but you can't go wrong with any of them. The only one I'm missing is Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn but it's just so damn expensive to get a physical PAL version on the PS3...
@@PragmatikReviews Yeah unfortunately I'll eventually have to do that as well sometime. I'm biding my time though since I've got plenty of games to play in the meantime lol.
To think the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games were my first exposure to the Musou games and also finally got me into watching Gundam. I knew about the Musou games before, though the only time I played it beforehand was through those demo discs for the PS2. As for the Anime, my brother was the one that watched it, and as a kid, it never really interested me back then. So yeah, this series holds a special place for me. A shame they never continued it past Reborn, though they really were just rehashing the same things at that point, even some of the cutscenes are still the same from the first DW:G game. Would've been nice if there was a PC port, or a switch-release. Good thing they're easy to emulate. Man I remember playing the shit out of DW:G2.
Very much the same for me. It's weird to think that I didn't care about gundam too much at one point. I think now would be the perfect time for a new installment. They've definitely had enough new content for more material now! guess we can always hope!
Only own the first one (imported from Lik-Sang when it launched in Hong Kong). Really enjoyed it! I'm a huge fan of the older Gundam stuff and the first Dynasty Warriors Gundam (Or Gundam Musou as stated on my copy) ticked all the boxes!
I strongly recommend the other games should you ever get a chance to get them. Yeah, I'm wanting to jump back to some of the old ps2 games myself in the near future!
@@PragmatikReviews I mainly picked it up due to the Gundam licence as I'm a huge mecha fan. Will keep an eye out for the later ones for sure, but not sure if they were released in Europe!
Oh I'm working on something! Won't be onimusha this time around because...we'll I reviewed every game, save for that weird mobile game I heard they made.
@@PragmatikReviews Dude I am still watching your video and you already commented! :) This is really well done and extremely professional! This is my first video and I look forward to checking out the rest of your library!
realistic Gundam graphic with Unreal Engine 5 would be much better. As much as we like to nostalgia with 2000s graphic, time moves on and they need to catch up or they'll lose competition with other games. Would be even better if they also make full motion VR Gundam cockpit simulator, just like there are full motion racing simulator and full motion flight simulator.
If you want to see what a Gundam VR cockpit simulator would be like such a mode is available in Zone of the Ender the 2nd runner mars edition for PS4-5 and PC.
I feel thats how it was back then. Just all these licensed games available to play even if you didn't know exactly what you were playing. A wild time for sure!
Honestly koei tecmo should make a new installment right now due to so many new Gundam ips since shin Gundam musou and with the new popularity of The Witch from Mercury. It would be really fun to try out mechs like Barbatos, the AGE 1-3 Gundams, the Build Fighters gunpla mechs, Xi Gundam and Gundam Aerial Edit: really myself maxing out 00 Raiser and ZZ Gundam in GDW3, they feel really good to use
Very much this! They have more than enough new suits to warrant a new game. Would be a major feature in itself. With how popular it is right now, how could they not!?
I've only played 2 and Reborn and I love them both. 2 was my entry and I love the pilot career mode they had. Reborn I loved for the larger roster and playing the larger mobile armors. This video made me want to pick up dwg3
You finished every game!? I hope you gave yourself some breaks, because that sounds like quite the endeavor. 3 in particular feels like it goes on forever!
10:06 Actually, there is one I can think of. Hyrule warriors (the first one) put a circle around badly wounded ally commander which heal them when you get inside.
Thank you for this great review as well as for my memory lane as I have played all 4 Dynasty Warriors Gundam games. I still like his the first one had made the teams though I am curious were the writer in one trying to set up Loren and Puru-2 because they seem to have a shipable interaction.
Hard to say! I could see it! I would love to see more games where characters that would never meet having a chance to interact and maybe become friends. I guess SRW does this but with multiple meccha series. Thanks for watching!
@@PragmatikReviews The same is what made me love Dynasty Warrior Gundam in the first place, as well as wanting to learn about Gundam lore in general. There is about Gundam crossover game other than SRW but I believe it is only a Japan-only series. It called SD Generation.
DW Gundam 1 was my favorite as well but for different reasons. It was kinda my introduction to Gundam as a whole so I look at it as a game more than as part of the series. To me I like that the fights are actual fights, Gundam 2 has that as well, but it's not long after the opening dialog that I beat an Ace pilot. In Gundam 1 that didn't happen, I see an Ace and it's going back and forth for a good while. Especially if they're on fire. The scale of the battles were large and grand. In Gundam 1 when things got dire you FELT it-
Gundam 2 also had this to an extent to me, but given how easy I find that game it doesn't have the same impact. I kinda feel the opposite for Gundam 3 with most of this. I felt kinda disappointed after looking back on it, the battlefields felt small and almost gridlike on some maps, the Ace encounters are a joke with how exploitable they are, even the Mobile Armors feel just kinda there instead of imposing like they were in Gundam 2.
I think we share a lot of the same ideas! You make a very good point. When you were low on health one, you better pray that there is a container somewhere that has some spare health. Especially when facing final threats like Master Asia or Haman!
I returned to leave another message. After having played the Official Mode in Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn I strongly recommend playing the game. It is in almost every way the best of the Dynasty Warriors Gundam series. Save for a few things it rivals Gundam 1 for me.
I think one is the best, I love the fighting in 3 but the mission structure and map design are both stale, you mostly just end up at the enemy HQ and fight in the same square arena. Also idk about anyone else but i has alot of bugs in 3 there are like 5 or so missions that either won’t conclude or just wont launch
I didn’t have a PlayStation growing up so I never played a lot of games the original three Dynasty warrior Gundam games. Although I did switch from Xbox 360 to the PS3 and ended up buying Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn which I believe was the fourth game in the series? But it had no English dubbing, but I fucking adored the game and as you said got me into a lot of the earlier series ending in me watching The original series, and Zeta. I’m kinda curious why you didn’t cover Reborn tbh but that’s solely because it’s the one I played the most.
I kinda said near the end I didn't have enough experience with it, but I might fix that later sometime this year! And I definitely got introduced more into gundam with these games. Thanks so much for watching! I actually got my start with these games with Xbox as well!
I knew I had one of them but I wasn't sure which in my collection. I just checked and it turns out I have the second one. I feel bad that it seems like it's the least liked one. I'd like to know if there's any way to get them outside of PS3. I've seen them for sale at my local retro game store but they go for a lot of money. I'd love to get them for the PS4 for example.
Unless they put them up on the psn I don't think so. And according to a lot of viewers, 2 is really the most story and character rich one so hey don't sweat it!
What I hate about 3 is the fact that it doesn’t have as many historical missions as 2, and the fact it stripped down the character roster so much. Whilst I appreciate the representation 00 and Unicorn received, it was next to nothing and honestly kinda garbage. I’ve only ever owned 3, but I wanna track down 2 just so I can better experience the historical missions (specifically CCA and MSG). And considering how many cutscenes were blatantly reused, you have to wonder why they throttled back so hard
Yeah, retelling their stories was not top priority for 3. I Like an original story, but leaving the historical missions in seems like a must as well. 2 shouldn't be too hard to find, just gotta warn that the gameplay isn't the greatest. But if it's historical missions, then you will probably enjoy it more!
Maybe it's just me but I find it strange that 1 is in PS3, but then 2 comes out in both PS3 and PS2. Idk, I never seen that before where the sequel is in older console but the original isn't. I find that to be abit funny, lol XD
I have played them all 1.2.3 Gundam Dynasty Warriors 100% trophy s completed.. Now Gundam Dynasty Warriors Reborn .. I love playing this one there's so many Gundam s an Mobil suites that even intruding all of the Giant Mobil Armors can be played .. Lol
My mother hated DWG2 because of the little "HARO HARO" alert sound that played constantly. Also DWG2 game has a random event where Domon, Puru, and Milliardo show up, you can even find a video of it, look up "Dynasty Warriors Gundam my hand is buring", yes I left the N out of Burning because it's spelled that way in the video's title.
Burning Gundam was my main in GDW3 and I maxed out all the characters suits and beat the missions even the 2 online ones when you had to fight as the foot soldier suits with Musha Gundams smh lol
"We are gundams" the random lines made me laugh to many times 😂
It's the perfect line for those combined dialogue moments. That or Lacus always saying "Haro loves to go on long walks!"
my favorite random interaction:
fa: "i don't need your pity! i'm a pilot, just like you!"
kamille: "it's because of people like you that this war will never end!"
fa: "sorry, i'll take a rain check!"
Clocked so many hours in 1 and 3 it was ridiculous
Dionegies if he was in Gundam'
It’s especially funny given that the antagonist of the original game was an actual sentient Gundam.
@@PragmatikReviews Yeah that would be awesome
I never saw the Anime’s but this series made my childhood. I spent so much time 100% each slowly. You’re the only person to make a video on the games so thanks a lot.
It's a fun mind numbing series to get lost in! I'm glad to see so many people appreciate it!
I feel you, man.😌👊
The only big negative I have for DWG3 is the space battles being removed literally the entire game is ground combat
Yeah that's been brought up a few times and I'd have to wonder why they would take something so essential to gundam.
Yeah that's what I liked the most! should of worked with those interactions more! and I felt 1 did a good job of that at times!
@@immortalfrieza Eh custom characters are here or there for me, but I think it would be a pretty welcome edition to the series.
It was on PS2 say what? I had it for 360
@@Mabdog3597 DWG2 is actually the ONLY Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game to come out on the PS2 everywhere outside of Japan; the Japanese got an expanded re-release of the first game for the PS2 in February 2008. DWG3, however, was exclusive for the PS3 and the 360.
I remember when I first bought and started playing DWG2, I wound up having Milliardo, Domon and Puru show up as a random event. They were practically the Team Rocket of that game, and I loved any time their event showed up from then on.
Haha I love them being described as the Team Rocket trio. The question is...which one is Meowth?
@@PragmatikReviews Puru, definitely Puru.
I'm with ya! I do feel people either love reborn or don't like it, judging from the comments I get!
DWG NEEDS TO COME BACK!!!!, I’M DYING HERE!!!!!!!
Someone get this person some new DWG! But I feel ya! it's definitely time for a new one!
Haha 3 did have this weird fast progression of characters immediately being okay with all these other unknown characters with giant mechs!
@@PragmatikReviews It was a bit strange, but made sense to a degree. Now I really gotta fire up the PS3 and indulge (as well as get to this backlog of gunpla 😭 RG NU is calling)
@@MaddJakd I hear that RG is sick! My MG is getting wobbly lol
@dylanjwagner That's honestly not a bad deal! I'd snag it! It's definitely worth 20 bucks.
The Teammates wandering off just to die pointless deaths does happen in the Anime series most of the time as well, tough.
Very true! Very abruptly in a lot of cases like seed too!
I still loving DWG as musha gundam, I don’t know what should I say about this nostalgia game…
Musha was such a cool Suit! Haha not a lot to say about it. just gotta enjoy it!
"I AMMM MASTERR ASIAAA"
Ghad i can still hear it like yesterday
Yeah his voice is not one to leave your memory easily!
Best combo ever is playing Wing Zero and summoning Deathscythe. He creates a tornado of hate that sucks everyone in. While he does that, you hop into the air and unleash Zero's buster cannon.
The wing characters are honestly just chaotic and so cool. love it!
Oh yeah one of the best. His normal attacks boost his Guage back to full power in no time. He gets missions done quick!
But the ZZ is a powerhouse!!
Yeah I want to check out that new SD Gundam because it kinda gives off that vibe. I would love a new Battle Assault!
DWG3 was my intro to Gundam games and story was fun, Trans-Am 00 Raiser was my favorite to use too
Raiser gets so friggen powerful. Really good choice for a game like this!
Great review mate. Always enjoy personal experiences thrown into the mix. I loved this series. I really wish we would see a return to this series. I would love to see this series be as glossy as the dragon quest heroes series.
Its a little surprising they haven't put out another given the time it's been. glad to see you here! Feel a fellow gundam fan would appreciate this!
This brought back memories. My first was DWG, which I played at a friend's, but then I ended up getting the 3rd one. Still own it today and got all the mobile suits and DLC, just to get all of Celestial Being.
Dude nice! If you haven't I'd still recommend checking out the older games! they are all worth your time!
This was the first gundam game that let me pilot the wing zero it was awesome
A liberating feeling I'm sure! And it's seriously one of the best suits in the first game!
We really need a new entry in the series or at least a way to play the old ones on modern platforms. I will forever keep my PS3 to play stuff like this.
Yeah a little surprising there hasn't been a collection. But then again, I don't think that's something Koei has ever really done for their games.
Seriously considering buying a xbox 360 with gundam 1 2 3 rn. I miss playing this as a kid so much
If it's affordable relive that childhood!

Good choices really! The Epyon is awesome! And I'd say I owe my interest in gundam a lot to this game as well!

If I was fighting any boss level stage I make sure I'm armed to the teeth with extreme high level stats to make it easier my favourite gundam is the strike freedom gundam
A good choice! Lots of damage with that one. I like how understandable the stats are in this game!
Yeah it also sucked that they just took out space battles, but overall there are things about it I like. I do need to give Reborn a chance!

For sure! It's about time and I bet they could do some really amazing things with how long it's been!
These games were always wild to me. Also I wanted to slap Kira through half of Seed and most of Destiny.
I feel like that's a universal feeling for Kira. And they are great but after capturing all this footage, I don't wanna see a Musuo game for a while!

I didn't get to play these as much as I should have way back when. Here's hoping against hope that they add these to steam someday
Weird to think they haven't yet. Doesn't Bandai Namco want more money!?
I recently had an itch to play these to dug out my DWG3 DISC and ripped it to my PC and started playing it with RPCS3 then i noticed that there was a 4th game DWG Reborn so i've been playing that. Dont know how i missed that release maybe cuz it was psn only in NA. Its been a blast i really like the additions/improvements they made.
Oh yeah they mostly made it a psn download for the most part. Sucks because a lot of people love it!
I got to play both 1 and 2 and l have to say l absolutely love them.
You'd probably really like 3 and Reborn as well if you ever get the temptation to play them again!
I can respect that! I do think 2 was also a good step up in getting more suits that we wanted. 3 really took a hit with those no space maps!

In samurai warriors 2, the main characters are given two unique special abilities.

Good thing they're easy to emulate.

realistic Gundam graphic with Unreal Engine 5 would be much better. As much as we like to nostalgia with 2000s graphic, time moves on and they need to catch up or they'll lose competition with other games. Would be even better if they also make full motion VR Gundam cockpit simulator, just like there are full motion racing simulator and full motion flight simulator.
@insansiregar6158 Yet it seems all we've gotten in the latest is gundam breaker 4. I think gundam is lucrative enough to take those kinds of risks.

Very much this! They have more than enough new suits to warrant a new game. Would be a major feature in itself. With how popular it is right now, how could they not!?
DWG 1 and 3 were my favorite. 3 was repetitive as hell, DWG1 had the best music in my opinion, and 3 had a larger variety of characters and mechs.
I'm with you there! Though they all had some pretty great tracks!

Nice hmm maybe same day we will get the rest of them.
Really the best thing to come from 3 was the music and the Mobile Suit roster cause, oh my god they're amazing!
I think we share a lot of the same ideas! You make a very good point. When you were low on health one, you better pray that there is a container somewhere that has some spare health. Especially when facing final threats like Master Asia or Haman!
@@PragmatikReviews But if not you had to pray and guard for dear life while waiting for your special meter to fill up and then unleash it.

And these've got some pretty good original music too.
