All that you need to do on the Encores or really any other mower that has sealed spindle bearings is to take off the seals on the bearings that goes on the inside and pack it with grease first because more than likely it doesn’t have any in it and put fittings on them if they don’t already and if they do make sure that the grease can get inside the spindle and then drill a small hole in it and put a screw in it and when you grease it take out the screw so that you will know when it’s full plus it will push out the old grease and they will last forever or at least a very long time. I’ve got an older one that I did that to and the bearings have over 6 hundred hours on them and they are still fine. You can do it in a hour or two and it won’t cost hardly anything if it costs anything at all. There’s several videos on UA-cam that shows how to do it. I don’t understand why they even put fittings on them when they have sealed bearings because they are useless if they can’t get any grease into them.
Wait he drops a brand because it doesn't fit in with his current customers base but was selling about 11 machines a month. Then he starts selling a prosumer machine? Makes no sense to me but I'm not in the mower selling business.
Sometimes in business, it is better to be focused on meeting the need of your primary customer. His focus was on commercial customers rather than general retail which requires different marketing as well as support approach. This is quite common in business actually. In the long run, if your core focus is profitable you are usually better doing this than trying to do a one size fits all.

I was working in commercial mowing 12 years ago for a company (I was actually considering buying at the time, but figured out it is better to build your own than buy). The owner was an absolute cheapskate but exclusively used Encores. They were incredibly durable, long lasting, and in many cases could mow where many other brands at that time couldn't due to their design and weight. the best part about them though was their cut. This was before they had been bought out and they already cut like an Exmark back then. The deck for them was very well designed and you could easily stripe without a kit, the internal updraft and flow were so efficient that you rarely had to double cut except for very overgrown yards. We could take them into ditches that others couldn't and the placement of the muffler helped avoid leaf fires that our competition would start. The only real criticism I had was the placement of one grease zerk that required you to either put the mower on a lift or jack it up and crawl underneath that was underneath the middle of the mower. I believe they have since corrected this issue with redesign. These were underappreciated mowers then and I'm not surprised that they are underappreciated now. They cut so well and were so durable that even if they haven't changed a thing to keep up with current advancements, I would still consider them my first choice for a mower now.

Yeah, our dealers where I live won't sell commercial mowers to homeowners and won't sell pro-spec mowers to commercial operators. Weird since I wanted a commercial grade mower but since I don't have a commercial lines business I can't purchase a new commercial grade model. It amazes me that dealers are literally turning away homeowner customers and only catering to commercial operators. Def sucks for a the large acreage homeowner like myself who desires a commercial grade zero turn mower.
Easy to get around. Find any LCO, befriend them. Tell them you need a new mower, get them to buy it under their business and just transfer it to you. Set up an escrow arrangement.

He probably didn't have as much profit margin on the Spartan as some other brands.
Very valuable information here

$8500 for a non commercial, 2nd hand mower is ridiculous.
Do you think you can get to the subject at hand instead of the bullsh!t?
I own a encore caliber, Kawasaki engine, zt54 Hydra gear. I gave seven Grand for it 4 years ago, it has 1700 hours on it now. Otherwise I love my encore caliber 60 inch deck Kawasaki engine zt54 hydro gear.
Great information brother! 💯
Thanks bro 👊🏻
Seem to be hurt over dropping Spartan. You would think he ran over your dog.
So everything that's going on between China and the United States, what's going to happen if you can get that steel shipped to the US?
....WHAT'S THAT JUNGLE SOUND??
Get a fake business card made up.
@@gump1005 Right. Especially when they ask you for your tax number.
@@TheFlatlander440 I'll tell them the number is 42.
I'd find another dealer. My money spends the same.
