@@T_81535 I think Scag is the only mower out there that has a maximum deck height of 6 inches. All I know, it helps when you have to cut wet grass. If you have tall fescue, and you are keeping it high or mowing it high, you definitely do not want to mow it with height of 4.5 inches while wet cause you will destroy the grass.

The Skag would probably be better without the Briggs &Stratton. I swore those engines off a decade ago. Maybe they're better now, I don't know, but I had to work on those every other time I mowed.
The Gentlemen with the Scag have him have the dealer check his RPMs doesnt sound like it is where it should be. My scag cheetah was off by 350 rpm when i Got it.
Some of the highest paying contracts are mowed with bad boy for example you can’t mow sea world or bush gardens if you don’t own bad boys here in Florida
The kawi is a better engine. There's a 250 hr valve adjustment most people never do. It'll get noisy on the top end between 300 and 600 hours. Most common failure on both is overheating the head and dropping the exhaust valve seats. Efi vanguard coil harness connector can have connection issues too.. but mostly on mud boat motors.
Well, now that you're done playing.... I went with a Toro, because they still offer some carbureted engines. Who wants to have to haul their mower to the dealer when it breaks down in the field; doesn't start, or has drivability issues? (And have to pay to fix it after the warranty expires!). Carb, you can rebuild or replace cheaply, and there's no electronics to go wrong (Time, dirt, moisture , vibration kill electronics- and there's lots of those things on mowers!). EFI may be O-K during the warranty period...but if you keep your mower a long time, like I do...get a carbed engine! Small-engine scanners cost $700 and up...and the ECUs and sensors for the EFI are expensive even if you do get a scanner and fix 'em yourself. Not to mention down time, etc.
I have a bad boy elite Kawasaki, and I am not really impressed with it, my brother's Badboy elite with the briggs seems to have more power. and a friend has a scag that he is not really impressed with. Another friend just mowed my lawn with his old and small Toro he bought for $500 I was impressed with that thing. my next mower will probably be a Scag or Badboy commercial grade, or I might just use the brush hog and buy a smaller mower to get the smaller areas, IMO the brush hog does fine but just too awkward
bad boy has a 7 gauge deck. scag also has a 7 gauge, but triple plate around the spindle. you can't compare bad boy to scag. scag is better built all around.
There is a reason you see scags used by more contractors and municipalities. Not knocking bad boy but if I’m still servicing mowers 20yrs or 10 yrs from now and ever see a bad boy come in that’s 20+ yrs old with 1500+ hrs on it still operating as new I’ll tell you bad boy is almost as good. I service mowers and work on them for a living. And the only ones I see coming in that are at least 20 yrs old and still kicking as well as highly abused is Scag. They are #1 for a reason and it shows.
Think you have a lot more dealers that are going to service a Scag. Plus everybody's a fanboy to their favorite color and Bad Boy is the new kid on the block. Frames and decks seem super heavy duty. Same engine options including Kawasaki 1000 EFI. Parker wheel motors with separate serviceable pumps. Peer spindles. Relatively unique suspension for a zero turn. They also have rear discharge on some of the 2024 Rogues. Obviously, I'm interested. I don't always like to get what my neighbor has... Especially at a premium for the name brand. That's why I don't buy Harleys. I mean the parts list on these commercial mowers are virtually identical. One thing I don't like on this particular Scag is that computer. I seriously doubt you're going to see those come in after 20 years without a replacement board.
@T_81535 my neighbor and my brother have Dixie choppers and they both have replaced the motors , bad boy ,I never seen one on a landscape trailer, Dixie choppers ride like a buck board but !! They work for you , and that's all that counts .
Basically the same motors and transmissions available. Bad Boy has a heavier duty frame and deck. You're just paying more for the Scag to get that warranty. I'm 52 years old and I've never used a warranty... Aside from that 96 Pontiac Firebird that I bought new. That thing got sold as soon as the warranty ran out. 😳
Lap/ stick steering is obsolete, wheel steering is better for slopping yards and if you have shrubs with low hanging limbs you can steer with one hand so you can use the other to block them from slapping you in the face.
Man i looked at the zero turns and everything. All so much money. I just went and bought an older John Deere 430 to mow with because it was cheaper and still hard as nails. I don't do it commercially but I could and have been thinking about it. After I get a lot of business I would look at Kubota probably so how do ya'll think these compare to a Kubota?
Not overkill by any means. You would understand if you ever owned one. Overkill is exactly what you want on a zero turn. I had a 61 inch mower with a 27hp and it was severely underpowered went to a 38.5hp and would never go back to an underpowered mower.
Wide open throttle and engauge the deck.. NOTTTTTTttt!!! That is VERY HARD on the electric clutch.. Like popping the clutch on manual car and burning the tires on the pavement..
Proud owner of a 61 " turf tiger 18 years old , kolher 27 hp 1840 hours . 1 ignition switch and several fuses later , its a winner 🏆 🥇
Sounds good enough for me.
The real test of a mower like that will be how long it lasts and which will be the least problems during that period.

Very Valid Points !
I agree
Which one has the smoothest ride?
Scag with the adjustable seat
The Bad Boy deck is nearly 2x thicker metal. It’s 3 gauge and the Scag is 7 gauge.
bad boy has a 7 gauge deck. scag also has a 7 gauge, but triple plate around the spindle. you can't compare bad boy to scag. scag is better built all around.
@@glclawncarellccentraltexas8766 the rebel is 3 gauge
@@glclawncarellccentraltexas8766bad boy has a 3 gauge deck
I have a top end Deere. The older I get the more I want to know which one is more comfortable and doesn't bounce you everywhere.
Sounds Good 👍
I ride a scag Patriot kawi and It's a tank. It takes a beating on a daily basis and I have no problems...
That’s Awesome 👍
I have an 20 year old Kubota ZD21 Diesel, 60" cut, still going strong! take care of your machines, and they will take care of you!
Absolutely 👍
What are the maximum height cut on both these mowers ??
Specs say 6 inches
@@PetersonFarmsofNashvillePFON Okay, you saying the Bad Boy cut height is maximum 6 inches ? I know the Scag is max at 6 inches.
Thanks !!
How long does it take to make the money back
Pretty sharp! Scag took 1st place today at the Drags for their division.
Badboy is quality mad thickest deck and made in America
There all good if they don't break down all the time
Never seen a badboy doing commercial work in my area. Its scag, ferris, exmark, toro in that oder in my area of texas
I do a lot of service and repairs on all types of mowing equipment and i can say the Scag is a far better machine than a Bad Boy
Good, Thx
Thats like comparing pick ups to big rigs. Bad boy aint nuthin
👍 Thanks for your Opinion
The dealer should went over the operating system with him n he should read owners manual before attempting to cut grass
Bad girl coming out 2026. 😅😅
Scag>Badboy. That’s like comparing Alabama to Tennessee football not even a comparison
No More like THE OHIO STATE Vs MICHIGAN 😃
Put that baby in transport mode and leave that bad boy behind
Scag Cheetah has 2 speed transmission, not turf tiger 😅
SCAG™ hands down.....❤💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
My bad boy had failure on thr mechanics of raising the deck so i never bought another one.
Don’t Blame ya ! Thanks for sharing 👍
Front tires don’t need tread. They’re not steer tires.
Maybe wouldn’t go flat as easily 🤷🏻
There is a reason you see scags used by more contractors and municipalities.
Not knocking bad boy but if I’m still servicing mowers 20yrs or 10 yrs from now and ever see a bad boy come in that’s 20+ yrs old with 1500+ hrs on it still operating as new I’ll tell you bad boy is almost as good.
I service mowers and work on them for a living. And the only ones I see coming in that are at least 20 yrs old and still kicking as well as highly abused is Scag. They are #1 for a reason and it shows.
I would agree 👍
My brother has a Grasshopper front deck.
It's 15 plus years old, still running strong, and lays down a beautiful cut.
You have no effing clue what your talking about. I've got bad boys and dixie choppers pushing 3,000 hours.
@T_81535 my neighbor and my brother have Dixie choppers and they both have replaced the motors , bad boy ,I never seen one on a landscape trailer, Dixie choppers ride like a buck board but !! They work for you , and that's all that counts .
Probably should have put those ROPS up .. 😆
Think the warranty kinda says it all 5 year unlimited hour vs 2 year limited.... No comparison. Scag is far superior
$18000 scag cost should cover lifetime warranty vs cost of BB
Warranty means nothing in the real world kid. Every mower will outlast it's warranty.
Never heard of a scag?
I would say DRIVER
Lap/ stick steering is obsolete, wheel steering is better for slopping yards and if you have shrubs with low hanging limbs you can steer with one hand so you can use the other to block them from slapping you in the face.
👍 yes and you can hold your drink while driving
18 grand for that SCAG.
@@jmwiszjust saw another video comparing Kubota to Bobcat at entry level $5k. Bobcat was built similar to these, not so for Kubota.
I don’t see 18,000 dollars in that Scag !
Right ?
40hp seems like overkill
Not overkill by any means. You would understand if you ever owned one.
Overkill is exactly what you want on a zero turn. I had a 61 inch mower with a 27hp and it was severely underpowered went to a 38.5hp and would never go back to an underpowered mower.
especially when you can outfit these with a bagger/vac system.. they need that extra
Skag has high and low transmission, what was he in?
Only the cheetah has high and low. That a turf tiger... actually a better model
Bad boy is the best by far
Not even close lol
SCAG!!
Scag is the best hands down look at all the older ones still running for years!!!
I dated a lot of Scags
😂 a lot of us have
You should’ve bought the cheetah and go to 16 miles an hour
Two dopes without ear protection
Uhhh? What did you say ?
I suppose you're one of those people that believes in seat belt and helmet laws too. Their hearing, their choice.
My 5000 dollar bad boy cuts butter then any scag I ever ran scag and exmark are overrated as hell
This is an embarrassment to Scag. Bad boy is the Kia of the mower world.
He needs more instructions.
Yes he does !
For the price badboy. Both good mowers. Scag more of a commercial mower.
Bad boy 100 steps down from skags. Not even close
Worst cameraman I've seen. At 5:20 why didn't you keep the camera on the mower so we can learn something???
Thanks for Watching 👍 keep coming back 😃
15 k mower
My scagg brother might need me to show him how to operate his. Because if i was driving i would have ate that BB up.
And if a frog had wings he wouldn't skid his a$$ across the pond.
NASCAR, Boys and their Toys
Wide open throttle and engauge the deck.. NOTTTTTTttt!!! That is VERY HARD on the electric clutch.. Like popping the clutch on manual car and burning the tires on the pavement..
Great point!
