Excellent video, glad you explained everything you were doing. I am a blind drummer and finding videos like these where the person is explaining everything is sometimes difficult.
Hey man I’m glad I can help! I’m gonna do be doing an updated video real soon when I get some new heads in!
Just realized I tuned my Tom's wayyy too high. Great advice and also learned something new. Loved the vid
Man awesome! I’m glad it helped. There’s no right or wrong way to do it but trying different things and seeing what you like best is key
@@ArturoReacts i love the low thud like in Whitechapel and the way you tuned yours in this video is the closest ive heard
@@skateboardermedic148 one thing I’ve learned over the years is that the way drums sound recorded is much different than what you hear with your ears naturally. They could be tuned the exact same but sound completely different based on the tips of sticks, head plys, dampening, the microphone and the room the drums are in. Plus if it’s recorded there’s most likely processing to make them sound a certain way so I just go with sounds good to my ears over anything else
great videos bro, i like how you mentioned that you dont have to tune every lug the same that its all ear and the way it sounds to you and your likes. im going to try this when i get home and see if i can get that same or close sound. i have the evans onyx black heads so hopefully it works the same.
Oooo I’ve never used the onyx heads but they look amazing. I’m gonna try some out sometime this year for sure. Love Evans heads. I’m glad the video helped you out. I’ll be doing an updated version when my studio is done and ready to be filmed in 😁
Great video man
Thank you! I plan on doing an updated version of this very soon
