    Hi. Just bumped into your stuff this morning, watched a few, commented, then saw this one. I'm a similar age and copped a similarly life changing medical thing a while ago (Mantle Cell Lymphoma). It all happens really quick doesn't it and unlike most things, you don't get much time to ponder what to do. You can't get your head around all the options anyway and it's not DIY-able (bugger it).
    Mine has gone OK so far, but have spent a lot of my 50's having various treatments. Last round finished in time for the lift of the Covid travel ban we had. You've had Covid finish (almost) and now have to deal with this. Bad timing, sod it.
    The biggest thing is how much time is left and how to use it? I might have a couple of years, or I might have 40. Do I spend all my money now, or still eke it out (no kids to leave it to)?
    So I pretty much retired, bought a Hymer in the UK (I live in Tasmania). I come over every year and potter about France in summer (I'd move there if only I could speak French). Now I found another Hymer back here too (these are both old, so not fancy or expensive).

    • @campervancreations7656
      @campervancreations7656  Рік тому

      So, I'll reply more later as its early but sell everything, move to France and learn to speak French(or dont) many brita get by but its easier if you can. This is your second chance opportunity. Mine will probably come back and eventually kill me but I've beat the 5% survival odd by a year so far and all clear so I'm changing stuff. I've no kids but she does. Not that bothered about leaving them anything anyway 😕. I'm treatment free and doing good. Go on, I dare ya.!!

      @@campervancreations7656 I have thought about it, particularly as (cue the country music) the cat I had for 18 years died last time I was over there so I'm free to do so, but I reckon what I do now is a good option as I have virtually endless summer with very mild 'winters' between.
      I'm in the same boat - complete remission, but last time that lasted 18 months, so can't count my chickens. It's always there - any little niggle you think 'is this it back?'
      It's like the 'is the glass half empty, or half full' thing except the glass is an hourglass. Kind of swing between 'do what you want, what the hell' and being hesitant to do anything, so preparing for the worst. Like medically induced bipolar. :-)

    • @campervancreations7656
      @campervancreations7656  Рік тому

      @wfdTamar so it sounds like you have the best of both worlds. My camper has been off the road for 2 years with engine problems. Have had it at numerous 'mechanics' and comes back worse. Its 2015. Considering buying a cheap van. Good engine and gearbox but body is a mess. Has had windows put in both side and need a bit of work. But it drives. Might be something to get around ireland in till the main van gets sorted. I'm self employed so the work situation has been dire but the van is 2011 and only €900.

    • @wfdTamar
      @wfdTamar Рік тому

      @@campervancreations7656 Wouldn't be just adding more trouble buying another? Like I can talk - I have so many vehicles.
      Ah mechanics, they're a joy aren't they? Luckily I DIY almost all that. However that can be a curse as you can't bare to have anyone do anything you could DIY. If ever you do get someone to do something you have some idea about it, but they just think 'what would you know!' Then when they stuff up, they can never admit they did, or that you might been right all along.

      @wfdTamar ahhh, I know but..... I absolutely hate paying for something I can do myself but this engine has been trouble. Been rebuilt, new turbo, new injectors, dpf mapped out, still won't fo above 2000rpm but with no fault codes. Also getting a low oil pressure warning. Really frustrating but gonna try a few things over the next week. The weather here is crap. Rained every day bar one for the whole October
      September wasn't much better. November seems OK so far but cold short days. Have posted any of your adventures on UA-cam?

      @@campervancreations7656 Well I'm glad you've made a recovery. You and the van in fact. And I do have a question for you as it happens. What gauge cable do I need to run from the leisure battery to the bus bars? When I search online all I get is tables showing what amperage this thing is and how many amp hours that thing is. But surely there's a "This will do for most things" answer? For reference, it's a 12v (obviously) 230Ah AGM battery, entirely charged by solar panels. Connected devices are fairly light. Everything is 12v, no converting going on. A small fridge, shower, water pump, spotlights, USB charge points, the odd extractor fan. You get the picture. The solar panel kit came with 6mm, which seems a bit light to my naive eyes. So, what would be a sensible gauge that wouldn't overheat but wouldn't overly obstruct the current?

    • @campervancreations7656
      @campervancreations7656  2 роки тому

      I use 35mm². It's pretty heavy guage and I protect it with 60amp fuse. Plenty of current capacity without risk of overheating. Length of cable also plays a part. Fuse size is obviously based on max current draw. Jamie

    • @wfdTamar
      @wfdTamar Рік тому

      @@mikenicol1593 12voltplanet have a good guide. There's no avoiding tables as it depends on distance and Amps. 6mm2 is generally used for solar.

    Please know, YOU matter and are in so many hearts and prayers...lifting you to GOD. YOU-we declare - healthy, healed, whole - nothing missing, nothing lacking ...knowing your identity in and through HIM in Jesus Name. YOU matter and are cared about and Loved by so many. God has placed you on our hearts with HIS Love for HE (God) loves you so and again, wants you to know without a doubt you matter no matter what you feel. Faith rests in trusting HIM and HIS goodness no matter what we feel or go through. I pray, in Jesus Name, faith to arise and strength, health and wholeness manifest for God's glory! You will live and not die and walk out what HE has predestined for you. You are needed for the Kingdom work in Jesus Name. Please read these scriptures to reveal what you have been seeking: Jeremiah 29:11; 3 John 2; Psalm 23; Psalm 118:17; HE has heard your questions. They can be answered in these scriptures ..yes, i know there are many questions u seek and need answers...continue to read in 1 Peter through 2 Peter. (Whole chapters...not long..great insight and peace will come. Allow HIM as the Author and Finisher of your faith to give you revelation, not knowledge. Revelation transforms whereas knowledge puffs up. Do not let enemy speak or give room only receive and submit to The Lord and say/believe what is written. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. When your own mouth speaks HIS Word, your spirit man receives as seed and allows these to grow you up into all truths as your mind is renewed. By the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony not loving our life...no longer I that lives but Christ Jesus...do we overcome. You are not alone...meaning many fighting with you, standing the gap when strength seems gone..rest in HIM not your strength brother. The Joy of the LORD is your strength...joy is an assurance of what HE says is true which keeps you unshakeable...not a feeling but a determined positional stance in HIS WORD being true, final authority and all that matters. But, you have to believe the WORD and realize at our worst, HE came and died when we deserved nothing! But Love came to destroy the works of the enemy and Redeemed you and brought you back into right standing with Father God and into a NEW Kingdom. The old is gone behold...a New Thing HE HAS DONE. Jesus' righteousness is where faith rests, always because of Jesus only. God bless you and yours, receive and allow the Holy Spirit to quicken your spirit in Jesus Name. AMEN.
