Honestly I'd like to disagree. Skyjay pulled a lot of unexpected movements but he also whiffed a LOT of easy punishes and missed quite a few combos, whereas fatality was very consistent in his combo game and his positioning for punishes.
@@RTGXII no it's not. I tested it on the training modpack. Fatality could have airdodged from that back air, that move took like an hour to come out after a weak nair with barely any hitstun. So it's Fatality's fault for probably mashing an offensive option in that situation against an untrue combo.
Gluttony said it when he played Fatality in that first to 10. Fatality's predictable aggression cost him this set. If he had just waited at 13:20 when he had advantage instead of chasing Skyjay off the map he would have won but instead he got gimped and put himself in a last game last stock situation. Fatality's aggression is his greatest strength and his greatest weakness. At top level play it's costing him too much. He needs to learn to hold advantage at times instead of pushing. He can go so much further if he just learns some patience.
You make a good point bro but I think it’s the fact that falcon sucks at being defensive. The best thing he can do is jump defensively but the second they start antiairing you’re kind of screwed
fatality getting caught by that last Nair was painful. Skyjay though played amazing. The slowest runner vs one of the fastest and still keeping things even.
Speed is a lot in Smash, but you really can’t afford to whiff vs a good Incineroar. TBF you also can’t afford to whiff vs Falcon, that’s why these matches are really quick and aggressive.
As an Incin main, playing against Capt Falcon is one of my FAVORITE matchups in addition to Terry. A great day for Incineroar hopefully getting more recognition after this

The skill Skyjay possess is incredible and puts incineroar on the map. Skill can make any character viable. If you have no skill even top tiers are bad.
This fight needs a sequel!! It was like a no-regrets play style! Maybe that's not the better way to play Ultimate, but that's the most hype and honest. We need a "fatality vs skyjay" part 2!

Man SkyJay is so good with this character. Literally Incineroar has the worst speed but STILL put up such a good fight and manage to beat Fatality. Good stuff

I feel like I’m watching a player from the old generation vs a player from the new generation. Skyjay trying to prove himself that he belongs in the big leagues to an old player like Fatality. It’s beautiful and nostalgic.

Coming back to this over 2 years later really makes me feel like fataliy was never the same competitor after. Like id stop trying too if i was up like 9:30 and dropped the set.
@@alexpotts6520 I think he’s about mid-tier as well, and he’s gotten better with buffs to Fair and down smash and up smash (maybe bair, but those are the most notable) over the patches. Some people are still putting him as bottom 10 though.

I think this goes for any lower level play with any character. they all spam one move let's be honest xP the reason ppl see incin spamming side b is because there are less good players with the character compared to top tier characters etc
Incredible set, so happy Skyjay had his revenge on Fatality and proved Incineroar can make it. Annoyed by the commentators yelling "Sir" every 5 seconds.
fatality has so many fans for always going for dumb stuff. if the dude could chill just a bit more in his play he'd win more games and place better. that throw with the edge guard was among the dumbest things ive seen in ultimate.
It's easy to say that on hindsight. He probably expected Skyjay to go low with Side-B, which if he landed the spike would've been game. And even if it didn't work, he probably didn't expect to get reversed edgeguarded in such a way that he'd lose his stock.
This has nothing to do with his fans. It's his natural playstyle. If you followed him for years, you know he's always explosive. He lost because he got greedy.

When Fatality gets his steam running, he looks unstoppable, but Skyjay was able to counterbalance with precise and lethal confirms. Great set

It’s amazing how comfortable these guys are with each other’s play style after that first to ten. Makes for some amazing stuff.
Here’s a tip for everyone out there, NEVER take Incineroar to town. He can cheese stocks at 40 so easily because the sides are so close.

Fatality played like crap here. They're pretty evenly matched for the most part. Skyjay won't be getting top anything unless he picks up a secondary

He's a mid-tier, in a game which is really well-balanced and where plenty of top players can pilot mid-tiers to success.
