My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.
Enjoy browsing!
Love,
Lucy

I appreciate how much effort you put into this with doing every hairstyle twice just to show us how it’d look with and without extensions👌🏻
Conclusion : everything looks very different without extensions. I love that you showed that, like that I don't have my expectations through the roof...
I too like the look better with the hair extensions since her hair is very thin. The most stark contrast was in the side braid over her shoulder. It looked gorgeous both ways but way more pronounced with the extensions. I have noticed that she uses extensions more often now in hair tutorials just to be able to show more clearly how the styles should look. I remember many years ago she used a Lush beauty bar because she was sent one to review and she was allergic to an ingredient in it and her hair kept falling out. By the time the shed was over she had lost about half of the thickness of her hair. I remember she was pretty upset about it and even posted a video asking for requests for how to regain thickness in hair. Since then I have loved how she embraces the hair that she has and loves it for what it is.
Honestly, I feel so much better after seeing what it would look like with "real" hair (mine are so thin as well) ; it was like watching an editing with and without photoshop. Now I know what to expect with my hair and hopefully will avoid disappointment.
Isn't most people's hair a lot closer to how her's appears with extensions? I admit I say this as someone is who regularly told by hair dresser I have the thickest hair they've ever worked with, so perhaps my perspective off. But either way, she is still very talented at hairstyling, and it looks nice both ways, aside from a few of the buns.
I also think a lot of the difference is less due to thickness and more due to the difference in length. I haven't had hair like hers in about a decade, but a lot of those hairstyles are usually a lot easier when you have mid back length hair. Too short or too long (seriously some of these hairstyles just don't work well with really long hair) and it just doesn't fit together quite right. Of course I could be completely wrong, as again, I only have a very limited perspective.
Thank you for making this video, I appreciate it, and the time you took to make it. Julz Alta, I hope you don't mind you replying to you. I hope both of you have a lovely day and y'all are staying healthy. ♡♡♡
@@marzimint7000 I only know two people with hair that thin. My mother in law, that is because she has cut dairy and gluten so her diet is bad and my sister in law's hair, she straightens it anywhere from 1 to 3 times a day so wrecked hair.
@@marzimint7000 it depends on the person. Hair type is genetic and runs in families. I have very fine hair which means the hairs themselves are much smaller than average so my hair looks a lot like hers. I don't have thin hair which means there isn't very many hairs on your head but if my hair was a lot shorter like her length of hair it would probably look similar to her without extension hair styles. You are very blessed to have such thick and beautiful hair but I would say that is NOT the norm at all. You're really special and lucky! (I know I would die to have hair like yours) Most people have average hair which is thicker than her hair and much thinner than the extension hair.
I love that you did them without extensions as well! Some of them look a bit more editorial thay way.
The way those looks look like without extentions is the reason why I don’t do elaborate braid styles with my hair. I am always dissapointed by the somewhat flimsy looking outcome. My hat goes off to your extentions though, they natch your hair color perfectly .
Same. Honestly, only 2 maybe 3 styles looked "ok" without the extensions ; but at least now I know it's not my fault I can't make my hair look pretty. I'm not doing the styling wrong, my hair is just too thin (braiding it looks like a rat tail...). There's the dream/photoshop version and then there's reality ^^;
I often get headaches/migraines and feel like my hair is too heavy as it is though so I don't think wearing extensions would work for me either... I'll try styles #6 and #10 though (maybe #9 but I highly doubt it will look good).
@@Meanne77 sparse hair looks best with short hair and even better with an Asymmetrical haircut.
@@lavenderturtle3759 my hair is too dense for a ponytail.
I have fine thin wavy hair. I can do anything with it but it lacks volume and cannot use heavy products or accessories. Long hair helps but I'm lucky I can add extensions yeah
I love the volume these styles have with the extensions but somehow, the fact that they look more delicate when without makes them somewhat more charming for me? I'll be trying these as I am a complete braid noob, every time I try to make a braided hairstyle I fail miserably. I bet this video was a arm workout for you LOL
I love that you showed them without the extension! Also not unrelated but I love the background music it's so relaxing and beautiful!!!
Exactly what I thought, too! :)
I associate it with Scotland for some reason xD
Me: has a bob and can't even get my hair into a ponytail right now
Also me: watches for Loepsie's peaceful and calm demeanor, perfect on a Sunday morning with coffee ☕
I love to rewatch this while getting ready in the morning. The music is so calming and encouraging. I’m not a huge makeup person but I love to put my hair in braids. Thank you Lucie for your inspiring content!
Many people have said this in the comments below, but i truly appreciate that you showed us how all of these look without hair extensions as well! I have fine-ish hair myself and sometimes it's really helpful and encouraging to see videos like this because they make me feel less self conscious about it. Thanks and lovely hairstyles! 😁🏳️🌈💖
So many of these post are about being thankful for showing the styles without the extensions. But my hair is thick so I'm happy you showed the extension hairstyles. Everyone has different types of hair so the same style usually has to be modified and I think this video makes us have realistic expectations what our hair will look like.
I really appreciate the looks without extensions! I gives me a more realistic idea of what the outcome will look like on my hair!
Im so happy you added the hairstyles without extentions! It's great seeing what the hairstyles look like in reality! Do you have any tips how to make the bobbypins stay in your hair, because mine always get loose after a few minutes?
Love from Poland, and stay safe! :)
I sometimes have problems with bobby pins too, because my hair is slippery. I use dry shampoo on 2nd or 3rd day hair which adds some grip to it. You could also try crossing the pins over each other to make an x, when possible. And you probably already know this, but if you don't, try picking up a bit of hair from both sections of hair you're trying to pin together (ie. hair close to your scalp and the hair in a braid) and then reversing directions with the bobby pin. It's hard to explain but it seems to hold things together better than just pushing the bobby pin in one way. I hope this helps!
@@marzipanmango thanks! I'll try doing that next time!
@@domina55rem I definitely second the earlier suggestions :) Here's another tip I learned a while back. As you're sliding in your bobby pin, do it in a zig-zag the whole way in. Hope that made sense haha
If you have a bit of hair spray you could open the Bobby pin up and spray it before putting it into your hair that should help 😊
She has a whole video about using bobby pins!
Thank you for this! I've been watching for years and I find your hair tutorials to be the most comprehensive I've come across. :) I appreciate you sharing the no-extension versions of the hairstyles as well. Besides feeling a little insecure over my fine hair, I won't feel like I did it wrong just because it looks more delicate!!
Thank you for showing hairstyles without extentions. Many hair tutorials on the internet are so fake, so it's refreshing to see how my not perfect hair would look if I actually try these styles.
I love how honest you are when it comes to the use of extensions. I wrestled with the thought of getting them for the longest time. Thanks to all the possibilities you've shown me I think I'm going to finally bite the bullet. :)
Idk if you got them yet but may I just say, I miss my extensions, honestly. I’ve been waiting until I got enough money to be able to get more.
I agree, I’m sure it’s twice as much work, but it was really nice to see these styles with and without extensions! My hair is quite fine so this made me feel better about my recreations not looking as good and full as what I was trying to go for! (Which is totally my insecurity and my own issue, but still, I appreciated seeing both versions!) Another beautiful video!!
Ireally appreciate that you show us with out extensions... Thank you this vidéo is really helpful for me ! And ho i love thé music !
Love them all! Loved that you showed them without the extensions too 💜
My hip length hair thanks you 🙏 I never quite know what to do with it. Gonna make some tea and practice some of these
I love all these hairstyles. I have long hair and braids just make everything better for me. Thank you so much for sharing. Love you and love your channel.
Anyone else feel like they were watching a Civil War documentary?
Great tutorial, I love that they are simple enough you dint even need instructions.
I loved this one! I like to watch your videos when I’m getting ready too. The aesthetic is calming and inspiring. I save them up. Also, while I’m here. I really appreciate your confident, body positive and un-self-conscious approach to style. Simple things like letting us know you’re using hair extensions for teaching purposes are so important. You know, healthy body image and all that. Anyway. Long story short: thank you!
I've been wearing #6 since you made a stand alone video for it! I have gotten so many compliments and no one can believe it takes me less than 15 minutes and that's mostly spent fussing with my bobby pins. I love your videos ❤️
Omg I absolutely love that you showed them without extensions as well. I have fine hair very similar to yours. Thank you so much for showing me what I can actually accomplish/achieve with my own natural hair!
Extensions make all the difference. Pretty hairstyles, all.
Thank you for showing us with and without extensions.
I love that you showed without hair extensions. Makes such a difference and is so honest. A big thumbs up from me 👍
I love the fact that you showed us the looks without the extensions too! I'm definitely going to try some of these ideas, now that I know what to expect from my thin hair ;) I'm especially eager to try the braided braids, I think it has a lot of potential for fluffing out without the whole braid falling apart as a result, since it's all locked together pretty securely.
All super cute! My favorite is the bun with side braid
Thank you so much, I have so little hair, and sometimes I don't braid my hair for fear it'd look too thin...
Thank you for showing us how each one looked without extensions❣️ I’ll definitely be trying these styles out
This video soothed me so much, just to watch it and listen to the music.
I love the music!
This was very relaxing!!
These styles were so adorable !!Love it😍💕I loved the music too 💖
Stay safe and healthy
Lovely, and the extensions really made ALL the difference in the finished look. x
Ah love the fact you did with and without extensions and both versions were so beautiful! Another wholesome video xx
I love your videos Loepsie! They are so honest and beautiful
I love your videos and especially the hair ones because I'm not very creative with my hair and you always come up with cute hairstyles 😊
Moral of the story: invest in hair extensions 😂
Thank you for showing the hairstyles without extentions too - that way you can actually know how it might look on yourself.
So beautiful, thanks! ❤️
Lovely music and braids!
Thank you for also sharing what they look like without extensions! It makes it so much easier to know what to actually expect!
Love all of them ❤️ super cute, and super amazing 😉
Perfect! Me being not so great with braids and thin hair this video is so helpful to choose and learn from! :D
I love the music just as much as your braid tutorial. so relaxing and whimsical.
These are beautiful !!
Dankjewel voor je leuke video. Ik vind de muziek echt fantastisch die je er onder hebt gezet!
Ik ben afgelopen maanden ook bezig met veel vlechten. En zo leer ik toch echt weer veel looks erbij. Dankje!
I love that bow that you use in so many videos. It’s so pretty! I need
These are so pretty!
Thank you so much for showing how it looks without the extension!!! Great hairstyles
All of these hairstyle looked so inspiring and absolutely doable for me! Thank you so much. 🥺💕
I just came on UA-cam to rewatch your pin curl videos and this was the first thing I saw. What a pleasant surprise 😊
These are great! I will try this 😁😍
so pretty!!!
your hair vids are legendary 🥺
Ur braids are awesome and you too are beautiful
Love 6,8 & 9 and that you showed with AND without extensions. So pretty🌻🌼Thank you!🌻🌼
You put so much work into this video! I love the look with the ribbon, it was so perfect for summer!
I appreciate your efforts. Amazing. Stay safe.
I do #7 all the time literally wearing it as I'm typing this perfect for casual keep it out of your way wear but can also easily be dressed up
Your videos always make me so happy. :) lovely braids!!
Thank you for showing the braids with and without extensions! My favorite style is the two braided side-buns. Very Princess Leia. ✨ You braid so expertly! I wish my braids could be as neat as yours; oh, and I have trouble with the fluffing out technique. 😓
U rock girl! Doing such an amazing job bb 🥺💗
I never knew what to do with my hair because they are as as thick as yours with extentions. I tried the second hairstyle and loved it. Thanks for inspiration!
Just what I needed! I love braids and wear them all the time but I kinda ran out of ideas
Yes super handige video! Mijn haar is heel lang en dik dus de vlechten met extensions zijn een goede tutorial :)
Your hair style is very beautiful
I love that you showed with and without extensions although tbh my hair is so thick it looks a lot more like the ones with the extensions.
Wow you put a lot of effort into this video and you did a great job. All the styles were beautiful on you!!
Amazing
when my hair used to be that long it has the same thickness with extension. it can be heavy.
Greetings from Morocco ❤❤
So pretty 🥺🥺🥺
Hi! I just found your channel and I’m really loving your content! I’ve been combing through your videos looking for styles that I can wear for Zoom. So many styles only look good in the back, but you can’t see that from a computer screen most of the time. I really like how all your styles are soft enough to still look good from a front view.
Ur so cute💕💕 it was a very useful video ✨
These beautiful braids reminded me of Violet Evergarden’s hair. If you do more beauty beacons of fiction, I’d love to see you recreate her look!
fun!
so cute ❤ I love you 💌
wauw, your own hair is so shiny :D
U are so beautiful and i loved all the braids znd i even tried doing the buns but u are a perfectionist ❤😍
Aww súper cool it's brilliant!!! ^^" 🧡🧡🧡🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌈🌈🌈
great video bro
HI LUCY! Greetings from Mexico!!!
I love your content 💕 you remind me of a turkish actress named Pelin Karahan
The BGM was very relaxing. I feel like I'm watching a 1800's hairstyle tutorial 💕
Really drives home just how much fake hair actresses have to wear
Depends on the person.
Depends on the hairstyle too and how long someone’s hair is, lots of factors, some hairstyles you see in movies needs extremely long hair or amount of hair.
I've only met two people with hair as thick as your extensions. Sometimes I just wish God would bestow everyone with gorgeous hair. We'll wake up one morning, and voila!
Thank you for showing us the hair style without the extensions.
Wow this must have taken ages to make and your arms would have been so sore! Thank you for the beautiful styles and the effort put in :-)
😃
#4 is my favorite, not sure my hair is long enough to do it though
I Love you sister😘😘🥰🥰
Where did you get the hair bow from? I really like it!
THE SHIRE
Omg that bow where did you get it?♡♡
I used to do the 7th one all the time for work, so I can attest to how easy it is. However, I have extremely long hair in addition to it being that really thick type of hair (although mine is that way without extensions). My hair got to a certain length point where it just couldn’t hold anymore and it started falling out at work. The cut off for my ability to do that hairstyle was a little before butt length. Unfortunately, now I can only really do a regular braid because that’s all that my hair will hold.
Hi, can you share the link for the extension you are wearing? Thanks
Done! 😁
About human hair extentions:
Please, be careful with buying them! And if you need them. This is somebodys hair! Did they get enough compensation? Did they give it willingly?
Please, do your research :) Nobody knows everything and past failures are in the past. Live to learn. You can do it. I would love to discuss this further ^^
@loepsie
I love this tutorial. Makes me wish I had longer hair 😂 I will braid the living hell out of long haired friends and my partner! And thank you for inspiring the upper portion of this post! It's always good to see what's what. I'm not against using extentions. It's like with everything: Research and reflect :)
