  • Which hairstyle suits me? Here is how to find the best hairstyle for your face shape. Face shapes and hairstyles are a tricky topic. This video shows you how to find your face shape among the 6 main face shapes, with an easy test method.
Then I describe each shape (oval, square, round, heart, diamond and long) and how to recognize it.
Once you know which shape your face has, I give you tips on how to get a hairstyle that suits your face.
This knowledge is not a "rule" that everyone should follow: it is the guidance based on which you can make informed decisions about getting bangs or not, choosing a hair length, styling, etc...
    Enjoy!
Update: I've put together a free PDF guide called 7 RULES TO TIMELESS STYLE, to help you build your style in a more timeless way:: www.justineleconte.com/timeless 😘

This is the most helpful dissection of Face Shape that I have seen in all my years. Thank you for giving the practical tips, the reality of the face shape and not just a shape superimposed over a face that usually just looks oval every time. It’s really frustrating to have a mixed shaped face, and try and fit yourself into a category. At least this gives more criteria.

I know that this video is a year old but I still wanted to say: I love that you put pictures of famous actresses in your video! They're good as a reference, but most of all if you don't like your face-shape but see beautiful actresses with it, you're like: this is not bad at all! I have a rather oval shape but with a tendency to square. I always thought well, it might look a little masculine. But then I saw Angelina Jolie and was like: dayumm, that face shape acutally looks really hot and unique! I don't wanna hide my square-features, I wanna accentuate them now! Thank you for this :)

    • @gianna526
      @gianna526 Рік тому +3

@@TIMAFEY2 lmao that's why people feel insecure about it. It's not her fault she has that face shape, and it looks very cool and unique. It's totally ok if you don't like it, but you don't have to tell people that, especially when someone just mentioned feeling insecure about it.

I have watched other similar videos, but yours is the best one as it really explains the face shapes by using principles instead of just saying what type of face should do what. It's really helpful because i believe some people just didn't really know what shape is their faces. I believe you do prepare for this. Nice job.

It's true, anyone that has extra weight on, people tell them they're round-faced, and so often they aren't. As an oval, I've had lots of different flattering styles, but as my hair is both fine & thinner now, my options have become somewhat limited.

One if the best guides I've ever seen, because it's not just a lot of pictures of hairstyles "if you have this shape". A lot of women do not know how to identify their shape - and if they dont know their shape, how are they supposed to know if it's the styles of a particular shape that will fit their's. This is more about identifying your shape than just inspiration which us actually usefull.

I had some difficult on the process of identifying the point of my face USING THE MIRROR because I tried to be more accurated as possible, so a suggestion that worked out for me is taking a picture and then drawing little dots on the edges of my face in the picture. (:
I loved this video! It helped me so much

Super practical! I love your advice! Whenever you post a picture of the celebrity that really makes your explanation more clear. I would love to see more of that. Maybe it would be fun to have a video on you analyzing celebrity style in an academy award or something like that. It would be really helpful for normal people like me know how to apply the beauty principals onto our daily life. Just a suggestion. :)

+Chen-Yu Huang hi, I did that for the MET gala in New York last Spring - I find even cooler than the OSCAR night, outfit-wise. Have a look. I might do it again this year if you guys are interested? 😃

Is that the "FASHION TRENDS Spring/Summer 2017"? I really like it too! But the Oscar night there are more different body and face types, versus models, are all box type. I love how you critic who does what because their body or face are what type. I mean it doesn't have to be Oscar. :))

Great video, for the first time I now understand what face shape I have by measuring the facial points-a diamond! Always thought I had a round or square face but my actual measurements did not match that. Even more telling is that I always styled my hair instinctively as she suggested, for my face shape because it balanced my face--now I understand why!

I'm a diamond too and the one thing we definitely have going for us are our cheekbones. I have always been told that really cute, short cuts suited me best and now I know why, thanks to Justine. I just hate my chin/lower jaw which is pushed back a little so I grew my hair out. It looks awful. I intuitively knew that a flatter crown was just not flattering. Justine is so right, we need volume up top. Have you tried a hairstyle like that?
