where are you guys in the subtitle vs dub debate? i have never met a dubbed film that i could take seriously lol (other than howls moving castle!)
I exclusively watch sub except for studio ghibli movies ( I just prefer dub 🤷🏾♀️ )
Sub all the way. I just like to hear the original language and don't mind reading the translation.
Both sub or dub is great it’s just your preference cari there is some bad dubs as someone who has watched a lot anime. I just prefer dubs because I’m too lazy to eat subtitles but if I love the show enough to watch it or wait for English dubs I do watch subs
The only times I watch dubbed movies are when I’m watching TV because Germany insists on dubbing everything. The quality of the dubs are really good, especially for popular movies and tv shows but I still prefer subtitles. The only downside is that when I’m watching something whilst getting ready I have to rewind often because I forget that I don’t actually understand the dialog. Weirdly enough I prefer English subtitles to German ones, I’m not sure if they’re better or if it’s that phenomenon that one can handle emotional things better in one’s second language so romantic scenes don’t seem as cringy.
'Once you overcome the one-inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films' by academy winner, bong jun ho.
Thank you Cari for making the world feel less lonely 💞
💞💞💞
I'm Korean, my english sounds a bit weird. But please understanding me😂 I'd like to say I could find a lot of hidden great spots in Korea thanks to your videos. I felt like I was traveling! It is such a great thing to see my country through other people's eyes. Thank you so much for sharing your life! I'll keep watching your channel!
thank you so much! sometimes when you live somewhere for a long time it is difficult to find exciting places so I'm happy to be a fresh pair of eyes for you^^
This is really true! Having the chance to see a place you know and love through someone else’s perspective really does help you see those places through new eyes.
this is so random but I absolutely love the rain?! I know a lot of people hate gloomy weather but it’s so relaxing for me even if I get wet (:
i like it when its not for 2 months straight hahah a random rainy day - love! a whole season - gimme some sun :'''')
Sameeeeee☔
Living in Ilsan for 2 years and then Seoul for 2 more years really made me understand that I really thrive in a city environment. Also definitely the amazing cafés and love of art and all things aesthetic made living in Korea an easy decision. I miss it everyday. But not the cicadas in the summer, I hated that screaming sound 😅
the convenience is definitely hard to beat :') and omg yes pls take them away hahah
도시의 소음이 많아질수록 매미의 울음 소리가 점점 커짐
Lived in Wonju for about 4 years and it was honestly the best time of my life.. I think part of it was being young and carefree but also I just loved the country, people and culture. I couldn't get enough!
so glad you have good memories!
4:51 love this cafe part of the vlog ,
so good with the camera
❤❤❤
That thrifted yellow dress will be so cute with just a few adjustments. Shorten the sleeves and tighten the armholes a tiny bit when you’re taking in the sides and it’s going to be perfect.
* takes notes * hahahha
There are so many things I love about living in Korea, the convenience, safety, plethora of things to do. But the biggest reason I decided to stay in Korea was because of the connections and friendships I made here
:''''')
I really didn't fully understand the "Wednesday and Enid" interraction being relatable to you two, but after this incident:
Cari: *sings TS*
Kurt: Cari.... Don't make me noise cancel you.
I understood and level up the ship I have always root of you ❤❤😂😂😂❤😂❤❤😂❤😂
I really love your relationship😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Sorry if my english it's bad, hope I could transmit the idea ❤️
I really Really REALLY hope the Eras Tour, makes it to Seoul, so you can see her! It was AH-MAZ-ING! Yayyy for Cari vlogs!
She’s skipping over us sadly but i know someone who got tix to see her in singapore!!

That black & white dress looks so good on you!
thank you!! im so glad it fit hahah
Wonderful vlog as ever, Cari, thank you! Had no idea Kurt & you considered coming to live in France! I’m half-French and half-English (born in the South of France), been living in Paris for 27 years now and absolutely loving it! Such a beautiful, amazing city! Glad your finger is ok- as a professional
musician I am very careful with my fingers and made me squirm just hearing you talk about it 😱 Hope you have a great week!
thank you so much and omg kurt is the same (as an engineer, he's like as long as my hands and brain is ok, im ok hahaha)
I really like seeing the strategies people employ to learn a new language in refreshing and authentic ways like watching UA-cam videos. It makes me language teacher heart so happy 😁
No feeling my best these days but this vlog brought me so much comfort. Thank you Cari ❤
hope things turn around soon!
Going to have to try the matcha yogurt bowl! It looks so good!
So easy too!! Literally just mix in a scoop of matcha!!
hi cari! thank you so much for your videos, theyve helped me so much more than you'd ever know. i got an adhd diagnosis last monday, but way before that, i'd often put your videos up to motivate me into completing my tasks and being productive and it'd always help me get work done; your videos are always such a welcome motivator. i have extra help now in being productive, but i just wanted to thank you & let you know your videos are a bright spot in my days and weeks!
Carri and Kurt are the most adorable couple ever!!! The way you too are so lovingly sassy with each other makes me smile, I hope you had a wonderful week!

💖💖💖
Just what I needed ✨lovely day to all 💕
have a nice weekend^^
These vlogs have become the highlight of my day
So excited about the possibility of you guys coming to live in France one day! I am Mexican and American, I've lived here for 7 years and I love it (La Rochelle, Grenoble and now Paris for the past 3 years). I can already picture you reading in a bunch of cute coffee shops and discovering hidden places! I also have some Korean friends who say there's a relatively large Korean community here in Paris so maybe that's also reassuring!
omg I jumped and screamed when you mentioned you were watching Maddy's vlogs! It is the inception of the content in youtube I love to watch, wonderful crossover!
Your life seems so beautiful and romantic! I love the music choices.
I look forward to these videos everyweek❤
thank you!
Your videos are a breath of fresh air
❤
I always love the cafés and stores you are visiting! Would be great to have a list of your favorite cafés and stores in Seoul ❤

it’s coming up on two years for me and the only things keeping me through the… challenges shall we say.. is autumn, winter and spring scenery/vibes and how insanely different they are from australia lol
autumn, absolutely :''''')
The illustration fair looked so fun!! and your yogurt bowls look so good (alos the bowl matches the blueberries 💜)
it really was! and i am definitely living a wonderful yogurt life rn hahaha
suzlnne’s silent vlogs are great! I highly recommend watching her videos!

yeah it was not fun ahhaha thank you!
Hi Cari, just wanted to say thanks for the opportunity to discover songs through your vlog haha, it's an absolute joy since I kinda vibe with your music.
wahh thank you!
This is my reminder to continue my korean learning journey haha. I also want to learn mandarin and japanese lol ,man a girl can dream. Lovely vlog as always. I like asian media like dramas, anime, books, but when it comes to Korea, I think I fell in love with it because of you Cari. Sadly I haven´t visited yet, hopefully I'll master the courage to travel alone and go next year.
the yonsei tote!!!! i am literally studying abroad here this summer and ahh your videos have been so nice to watch to find inspo on places to explore in seoul :’)
wahhhh give yonsei my loooove!
I have to say, there’s something about rainy season that I love ❤
❤❤❤
Wow ! Wounderful vlogg as always Cari … ❤❤❤❤
thank you!!!
The black and white dress looks great on you - def a great find. It's a heat wave all over the world - we are having to turn on our A/Cs in Northern California which is pretty rare. I will be going down to Southern Cal next week (Anaheim) so will have to see how hot it is. Arizona is just roasting with 110 degrees F temps on the daily. And Death Valley hit 130F! Even with dry heat, at those temps it's deadly to be out for even a few minutes. You can basically cook eggs on the pavement.
Omg! Please tell us more about moving to France some day!! ❤❤❤
Here for all the summer rain 🌦
I am a Texan who has lived in Korea for 2 years and I moved here to support the US and ROK army. I'm leaving in a few months back to Texas and it is so bittersweet! I miss my family but I have fallen in love with Korea and the friends I've made here ❤
Thank you so much for your service.
May God bless America.
loved this vlog! Also love what you did w/ the movie I’d love to see more foreign films and even shows without English captions and see if that works for me👀
^_^
honestly, i think i need a playlist of the songs you use in your videos :")
wow i hadn't thought about mixing matcha and yoghurt - gna have to try this! the cicadas were sooo loud, absolutely wild! another beautiful video, they're becoming a real highlight of my week. you're definitely one of the main channels i've looked to for inspiration when starting vlogging 🥰
oh wow and the illustration fair looked so cute... i gasped at the squishy corgi
thank youuuu and yes pls try the matcha, its so good!
Stunning visuals 🥹
thank you!
omg i died when Kurt said "cari don't make me noise cancel you" hahahhahaha you guys are so relationship goals
I love this littel Part, of my Sundaymorning❤
hope you had a nice weekend!
@@caricakes Yes, my Weekend was good ~ I hope yours too :3
I loved, loved Into the Drowning Deep! It's like niche, but it went full-fledged niche. I read it when I was at my peak drunken fondness towards mermaids in literature, so I ate this one up deliciously. Loved the disability/neurodivergent representation as well, and also what it explores in terms of language, climate change (making humans their targets eventually), and that so much of Earth (plus the universe) is unfathomable, and often lethal/dangerous. Sorry to ramble, I just remembered how fun it was to read this book that I needed to share! 😆😅
Thank you for the video as well! Made my day 💗✨
right?! definitely got a little long in the last act but the ending was perfection!
Excellent music choices🤗
I lived in Seoul for about 18 years and 15 years in France, UK and Australia all combined together. I think Seoul is really convenient in that you just get everything near proximity. Cheap public transport and feeling like I won't ever need to buy a car and most of all, it's the safest city that I have lived in. I really like to watch indie films and go to film festivals, there is really good independent theaters in Seoul which I love.
yes yes and yes!
I miss Seoul forest 😢 thanks for the gorgeous visuals (as always)
:'''')
There is so much that I love and miss about living in Korea! Absolutely love how safe I felt as a woman and mother. There is always something to do, no matter what stage of life you are in. I love that I didn’t need a car, public transportation was so great and affordable. Plus the culture itself is amazing! Can’t wait to return one day if only for a visit ❤
Your french sounds good! And cute 😊 Salutations de Montréal! J'adore tes vidéos ❤ I could use those korean language youtubers recs, I've been slacking my studies 😅
bahahah thank you!
Oh Cari pleaseeee, if you enjoy Mira Grant's writting style, you need to read the Feed trilogy!!
I'm in love with korea and the culture. I'm starting study korean language too. Hope I could live there so soon thank you for this beautiful vlog💖
good luck with everything!!!
you aren't alone in having a huge crush on Cornelius, Cari 😂 anyway, your video is a breath of fresh air as always 🥺 I'm currently resetting my body from organizing an art fair this November and watching your video is helping me get back on track!
Hang in there, the cold autumn moments is coming soon.
im beginning the process of looking for english teaching jobs in korea. id be totally lying if i said your videos didnt at least partially inspire this journey. im from the us and have taught in europe and i cant wait to see what korea and asia in general has in store for me :)
good luck with everything!
I will move to Korea in 2 weeks to get married and it feels sooo good to read other opinions of what they love about Korea! I already lived there for a year with my fiancé and developed social anxiety sadly! Now I’m a bit frightened to go back, but reading about the goods things of Korea makes me happy! ❤️
What's the demonstration about? Curious minds want to know! Hope your week is wrapping up well, Cari! As always, a great video!
this one had to do with the food delivery drivers - i didnt get exactly what it was about cause i was running but they had signs wanting the president to resign (which im pro hhaha)
not me using your video to discover new music 🤌🏼💫
Fav part of Sunday are your videos 🌸☺️ I live in Belgium and French is spoken BUT I find it so difficult haha I’m happy I live in the Dutch speaking area😂
thank you :') and omg my neighbor in the US is dutch and thats a HARD language hahaha
It's strange how sometimes when I watch Cari I feel she's a character from my favourite fantasy books
:'''''''')
I make matcha yogurt a lot too! Greek yogurt, matcha powder, raw organic honey and flax+pumpkin seed and granola 👍👍
Hi Cari, I always watch your videos, they give me peace and make me want to go have a coffee with you one day. For some reason I feel like we would get along haha.
I want to tell you that my father passed away a few months ago. Right at this moment while watching your video she was texting with her boyfriend and I got really sad. Suddenly the shot of the window where it says "Take your time" came on and it comforted me, it made me realize that I have to give myself my time when I need it and that everything will be fine. I know it was not intentional, obviously, but I want to thank you and know that you are great company for me.
Greetings from Uruguay! I hope one day we can meet and have a coffee together
Beautiful Place
I wish I had your gift for language!
I haven't lived in korea but this country seems very evolved and developed to live.especially islands and villages, not the cities. it will be a cool to live a slow paced or life where you can find peace. and in Korea so much has changed over the years so if i wanna work in entertainment inudstry or maybe live a slow life i would prefer it. It can give you both.
I lived in Daegu for a year when I graduated from college! First time leaving my parents house. I wanted to be as far away from AZ as possible. Nailed it! Had the best year of my life there.
Thank you for the work you create!
Woke up and decided to curtail my UA-cam viewing content.
Still "on a roll" ..............
After Seven by Jungkook I can't look at weekly vlogs the same way 🤣
omg hahahaha
Your videos make me want go to back to Korea (went in 2018) just to visit all the amazing cafes 😂
i know the feeling hahhaha
"Cari, don't make me noise cancel you!" Epic.
Very very nice ❤
17:14 that's the best one! 😆

Seong Min ji - beauty (she was on singles inferno too)
thank youu!
come back to Montreal ❤
Omg! The yellow dress is beautiful. What if you separated it into a shirt/skirt combo?
HI Cari, fun weekly vlog as always! can you please share the name of place on 12.20? Thank you very much.
CORNELIUS!!!
my mom grew up watching anime in Mexico in the 70s and 80s and the shows/films she introduced to me were all Spanish dubbed given that back then it was cheaper and easier for Japanese companies to export anime to non-English speaking audiences as American companies had very expensive demands but also preferred to focus on domestic shows. so it honestly depends on the film. If I was already exposed to it dubbed as a kid, I will watch it dubbed. Most of the time though I will read subtitles. even when I watch English shows I have subtitles because the audio or whoever was editor did not mic up the actors right 😂
I love your videos! What app do you use in your iPad to make notes while learning? Thanks!!❤
I've lived in Korea for 6 months during my exchange semester at Hongik University - definitely one of the best times of my life. I love the cafés, the food, the vibrance of everything. Korea will always have a special place in my heart. Unforgettable.
♥
Hi! Love your videos 🥰 What book are you reading at 22:30, about a Bayou and thundrestorm?
Your new table looks perfect!! Did you get it on Coupang if I may ask? been thinking about buying a similar foldable white desk for a while ㅠ
i actually got it on ohou.se! it was one of the first folding tables i saw, around 40,000won!
@@caricakes Ohhh nice!! Thank you so much for the link! I'll check it out. Have a nice week ahead! :)
