  • You probably seen the standard WD-40 method to clean the wiper blades but it doesn't work for everyone that is why i've researched and found the right one. The WD 40 Silicone Lubricant Spray. This spray will clean and protect your wiper blades and stops it from squeaking.
WD 40 Silicone Spray cost around £5 in stores

Came here after watching a video with 6 million views in which the guy recommended using standard WD40, however the regular one eats away at rubber (look up WD40 sprayed on rubber balloons to see what I mean) so thought to myself "Why not use a proper silicone lubricant?" And that's when I found your video. I'm going to give this a try, thanks for uploading.

That is the business man, it didn't even cost me a 5er, I had silicone spray & obviously alcohol ( with covid), worked deadly.
    Thank you

I had to chuckle here as I do exactly the same thing. (WD 40 silicone as well) Other cleaning methods like alcohol work fine, but I've found that silicone spray just makes the wipers work smoother.

Silicon makes things slippery you don’t apply it to drive belts. They need as much grip on the pulleys as they can get.

@@cloudchaser9951 mine worked. I bought a pair of bosch aerotwin wiper. 1st install, no issue present. after using it for 2 months, it produces a squeaky noise with wiper skipping problem. i guess bosch wipers are not suitable for every windshield. after applying silicone lubricant on the wiper, it solved my issue.

some silicons will soften rubber to the point of turning it to mush , a similar ceramic one would be better

Consider that wiper blades rubber almost always goes dry and fractures at some point.. it is extremely rare they melt as those are designed for. high temperatures.

No silicone is dry. Kind of like spray Teflon. Leaves a film with very low coefficient of static friction and can actually replenish the softness of the rubber.

Son't ever spray wd40 or the silicon version on door hinges. Wd40 is a thin lubricant so it removes the thick lubricanta such grease. After a few days you'll see that the door squeak worse than ever. You should apply liqıid grease or teflon based grease on the hinges.

Whatever you do, you shouldn't be cleaning your wiper blades with WD40, ever. WD40 is a water-displacer which, if you use it on your wiper blades, will leave streaks and marks and won't clear away the rain, but will make it worse.
