I have the 4.6 aluminum Teksid and just realized taking the motor apart, the shop had the washer for the iron block. Glad I watched this just because before I put it all back together.
Thanks for putting this up. There isn't much information out there on the coyote thrust bearing even in the Ford Service manual. On my first Coyote I had a heck of a time figuring out what to do with the thrust washer.
Really like the Chanel you give really good tips and make it clear as mudd How about your tip on setting timing for the 4.6/5.4 when reinstalling heads or any of that sort, there’s a lot of vids out there but I’d like to see your take on it , thanks keep them coming
Some not all 3v iron Romeo blocks are actually 2v blocks reused from the 2000-2004 or so I’ve heard also I have one apart rn doing final assembly and parts for it aftermarket were the 2v 4.6 Romeo ones like the main bearings nothing else I ordered for the make and model or any 3v iron Windsor block wouldn’t work and we all know aluminum ones are very different so that wasn’t a choice at all and actually now that I remember only king bearing and modular head shop is the only place I could find this info on their site . other than one person on a forum about a whole different subject maybe more info I couldn’t find with key words in search engine
really like your videos hope you can make more soon i do have a question on a 2005 4.6 i want to go with a mellings oil pump would the m360hv be ok for the 4.6 engine
I thought I had bad thrust bearings until I saw your video! My crank walks close to an inch when I apply throttle. What could this be? All I'm told is the engine is bad. Also, this is the second (different) engine to do this on my 97 Ford 4.2L automatic.
Is it possible to replace the thrust washers with the engine still installed in the vehicle? I have a 2007 5.4 3 valve and the thrust washers have not failed. But at over 200,000 miles I understand they are prone to failure and I'm considering preemptively replacing them while I have the oil pan off to clean up after a timing problem. Thanks
I have non pi heads and my intake blew the heater core nipple . I want to put a pi manifold i have in my garage laying around but dont know if i should because i gotta use silicone for the inlet outlet for coolant ports on
Absolutely bud. We have plenty of customers that do that. It will move the torque band up slightly but no big deal. The blower cams will have better drivability as well, do to the wider lsa.
No. Some do not have the ledge. That is not a problem as the flanged bearing on the cap will keep the washer from spinning once everything is assembled
Your attention to detail Is incredible. I’m very much looking forward to running your coyote short block I ordered. These tech tip videos are awesome.
OMG I AM SUCH A HUGE FAN!!!
@@HighTimesTrader i give the same details haha

Maybe a video on main bearings, like how to measure and determine which bearings to get for which applications etc different brands etc
If you haven't already, I suggest a video detailing degreeing locked cams on the Coyote.
Great video!
You ever use the torque sequence batch function on that A-Tech? Its pretty awesome doing 3 parts on each type of fastener
Great information!!
What would be some symptoms of not having the thrust set properly would it make it hard to turn the crank over by hand?
What abt running coyote rods, is ther a clearance for rod to rod or rod to cheek
Can I put polo bah crankshaft back without trust washers
any 6.2 boss engine builds in the works?

How many thrust bearing does this engine have
Man would love to see you open up a 4.75 striker of mmr
If it's to tight wouldn't it wear in?
Why no more videos?
