Hopefully there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, that place was really cooking. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.
Detroit firefighters are fearless. They don’t hesitate to go for the interior attack. This house looked abandoned but they still attacked that fire like someone was inside!
Sorry not a wanna be...I receive a good monthly fire department pension retirement deposit that validates my tenure as a senior fighter. Therefore, I am not going to get into no pissing or size comparison contest. So here we go....seeing this crew moving in slow-motion and not prepared to initiate a primary search is very disappointing--especially for such a respected and great department as DFD! Being in the fire service most of my adult life (30 years) and retired as career firefighter (captain), I would expect much more urgency and preparedness especially during a night time structure fire with vehicles parked in the driveway. Legal or illegal occupancy, it doesn't matter....until proven otherwise there are trapped civilians/animals inside! I know my DFD brothers and sisters are incredible awesome firefighters and are better than what this first arriving crew reflects! Allen P, Retired Firefighter (Captain)
@j9jq2zf1y So here we go....seeing you prove with your own words that you have never been a Firefighter is truly a treat. You see, if you had experience as an actual firefighter you would have noticed all of the MANY indicators that there was already a crew inside working the job. In fact they had already been working it for some time before the video started as it clearly shows... Oops... I should also note how predictable the YouToob FD wannabe firefighters are... You toss out the faux pedigree as if it is some sort of actual proof, it's almost always... "retired"... "30 years"... "captain"... with special credit for mentioning "pension". Then they will start typing and instantly prove to anyone with *actual* experience that they have never done the job...
I understand that it is Detroit, but is there any urgency to make access to perform a primary search for victims? It appears middle of the night which is when many people die in structure fires. Legal or illegal residents it doesn't matter -- if trapped they want rescued! Please DFD show some urgency upon arrival with PPE SCBA/masked up on air to initiate primary search as soon as possible!!. I have been in the fire service for 30 plus years, I fully understand the "move methodically with purpose don't run trip and fall stride" during ops, but have we reverted to a slow-motion non-urgency don't care attitude style of firefighting which is equal bothersome to me. Okay DFD, I apologize for jumping on my armchair firefighting -- you guys are awesome firefighters! It is just a global trend I am starting to see in all sizes of fire departments --- though I think it is becoming more common in larger fire departments. I am off of my soapbox now 😊 Allen P, retired firefighter (captain)
Thanks capt. You were probably in some suburb for your exp if legit. These under payed boys know where the abandoned buildings are and still risked it all. Thanks for getting off your soap box. Don’t get back on.
@@7undersaintx96 He's clearly never spent even a single second as an actual firefighter. If he had he would have noticed that there was a crew already inside and working the job.
As the Chief on this fire Capt. I think it would be great for you to come on down and show us how to do this. I’ll give you a ride there and you can have the pipe. Let me know when you’re ready
Great job by the FD, it was really ripping.
Awesome coverage Josh. I respect all responders for what they do...🤗🤗
Thank you!!

And....amazed that everybody is standing in the smoke/steam plume without wearing their SCBA. DFD must have a lot of retirements due to cancer.
I don't understand why so many firefighters just stand around. Help with water
Because there was already a crew working on the inside before the video even started
That’s someone else’s job bro
@@SittingWithDogs ain't no such thing as someone else's job. I make sure water is got. We don't pass a situation that will help us
Please turn down the contrast on your camera so it doesn’t wash out red

"They should have used a deck gun!"
I got to say it first and beat all the armchair wannabes that know nothing about firefighting
Wow
Nah, the quadruple deck gun that pulls moisture directly from the air is better.
