But I’m about to do the same thing to my 2002 Escalade ext just bought the mounts and the bracket that goes around the stereo and harness 👍
I just installed double din pioneer in 2001 z71 didn’t have to cut nothing nor did I have to get basket out of a 2005 . Just purchase a 2001 double din kit
I'm not exactly sure...there was already a aftermarket radio in the truck when I got it so I'm not sure what the bracket looks like for a factory radio. I cut up the bracket that was with the after market radio and made that work

You can order the double din for this year but its $100+. This was really easy and saved alot of money

I looked at couple junkyards and they was either a different color and wanted $50-$80 or broke. You also need the A/C controls
