    Tony, very helpful. Thank you. The directions with the Metra 99-3002 frame were crap at best. I realize margins may be tight but one more sheet of paper or dare a say a 10 minute effort for Metra to create a UA-cam video would have saved me some time.
    I went with the soldering method given the super low audio voltages involved but I doubt anyone could tell a difference given these low end components and speakers.
    Great video. Thank you for taking the time to make it!

      @TonyTheTruckGuy  5 років тому +1

      That’s very weird. You should google your radio make and model followed by “only sound on 1 side” and see if other people are having the same issues. I would say wiring but that wouldn’t make sense of everything works on radio. Almost sounds like radio or phone issue.

      Sorry for the late reply, 300+ comments were "being held for review" for some reason. I think the amp harness is only if you have factory subs. As long as the normal harness has a blue wire, that should be your amp feed for aftermarket amp.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  4 роки тому

      Blue with white should be just auxiliary for subs if you have them and I can’t remember what orange is for. If you don’t have subs, I would hook everything up and see what happens. If memory serves me right there have been other people that also didn’t have the orange wire.

    • @hunterlucas7685
      @hunterlucas7685 4 роки тому

      Tony The Truck Guy thanks for the reply, I went ahead and hooked it up as is and I just ordered a mounting kit and a new wiring harness just in case. I did notice that the speaker in my drivers side door doesn’t work now. That could have to do with the missing wires. Do you know which antenna adapter I need? It’s a 2002 GMC Sierra and it’s a Sony CDX-GT200 radio

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  4 роки тому

      I think green, purple, white, and gray are your speaker wires. Should be 2 of each color. I would check your connection on those and make sure something isn’t loose cause like I said blue is just for sub/amp and orange usually isn’t used. If your factory antenna doesn’t plug directly into your Sony, you likely need the same antenna adapter I used.

      Haha no worries. A normal one like mine is a single din. A double din is the bigger ones which are normally a touch screen display. The double din is the more expensive route as the radios themselves are usually more, and you have to buy an all new dash panel to make it fit, which I think is only available in black.
