thanks for creating these 3 drink recipes! they're simpler than I expected, so that motivates me to make them from home instead of spending so much money at boba shops lol. I never heard of papaya milk but that looks really good (and makes me feel slightly healthier XD)

There is a place near me that does a mango smoothie drink and adding the cheese foam is sooo good. My friend came up with the combo. When she ordered it one day, the owner said he didn't think it would be good but made it anyway. And when she went back they now have it available on the menu like that 😂

Made the brown sugar boba… it went sooooo well! The brown sugar was delicious! Instead of just milk tho, I used milk tea! I had previously tried a different recipe for brown sugar syrup, that went bad, but this brown sugar was delicious and perfect! Thank you!
Anyone else not care about the “boba” but is more interested in the milk tea! Because all the recipes I can find are all about “boba” which I could care less about. I like the actual drink!

I saw your video for the first time and I am impressed with how professional you are - definitely professional tv material with your own demo portfolio to boot!
When I watch cooking shows that I think are educational for me, I tend to focus on content and usually I have a serious expression on my face. But by the time this video ended, not only I learned how to make boba tea, but I also realized that the show ended and I was still smiling! Your mother-daughter relationship was solid and I loved that your mom was “stealing” drinks. It made me think of the times when my oldest daughter pleasantly surprises me!

I tried making boba tea a while ago and was surprised how weird and unappatizing it was.
Then I saw this video and realized I had pretty much forgotten to use sugar and thus the result was... less than desirable - pretty much like chewing unflavored rubber.
The recipe with brown sugar and milk is really good and I love the one with cream cheese (minus the cream cheese that is - haha). Overall I am just surprised how good it tastes especially when remembering to use sugar for the boba.
The only thing I wish I had here was an actual recipe - perhaps in the description etc. since it was a bit of a struggle having to pause and start over when I missed out on something because I did not hear correctly (or because I have to stop after each measure to translate it into the Metric system) :)

Unfortunately we don't have many stores here that sell boba, and Covid has made it more of a hassle to both get inside a restaurant simply to buy a drink, but also harder to get the money to pay for it.
At home I had everything I needed to make it so that was both easier and cheaper for me at that time.
Getting an actual Boba tea is still on my bucket list though, so I will be looking forward to trying one in the new year 😀

Thats how I felt when I made Shirakiku noodles. Like eating wet rubber bands. I actually spit them out because it felt like something that I shouldn't eat. My kid loves boba so that's who I'll make it for.

Also babes you could get an ice cube tray specifically for your papaya milk leftovers, pour them into cube trays and freeze them. That way if you crave it late at night of on your way out the door you can pop the frozen blend into a blender and have one within minutes! Saves on waste too! 💜💃

I remember watching them boil tapioca for thee first time at a Boba shop on Spadina. Been thinking about trying it ever since. I think my favourite has to be the brown sugar boba.

You can buy the pearls already made from most Asian markets or if you’re extra like me, you can make the pearls with tapioca starch!

I brought the same kind of tapioca balld but find that when the ice hits it as well as it sitting in the bowl cooling it hardens some. Does this happen to you or anyone else that makes at home?
Mine does that sometimes as well. To make it stay soft I rinse it with some cold water right after taking it out of my pot and then assemble my drink quickly so the boba doesn’t harden to much.

This is probably considered an abomination, but I just tried to make your cheese tea vegan and it actually came out ok! I made the mistake of adding too much milk so I think next time I’ll make the cheese part a little thicker but it was delicious. Just so the vegans out there know this is an amazing drink and do not dismiss it!
