Hard Sparring #5 Ranked UFC Flyweight Alex Perez
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- For those who don't know, I am a weight class above him (and I'm heavier than usual from all the eating on vacation). There were several times I gassed out in between these 2x 5 minute rounds where Alex took it easy and moved around a bit to let me breath before letting those nastyyyy hands on me! So much respect to him.🙏

I'm a huge fan of Alex Perez and was actually so intimidated to spar him. For those who don't know, I am a weight class above him and there were several times I gassed out in between these 2x 5 minute rounds where Alex took it easy and moved around a bit to let me breath before laying those nastyyyy hands on me! So much respect to him.🙏

hes definately fighter material, i dont think he backed up once during your spare, he mostly just ate the shots!
beast!
I thought you looked a little heavy. And boy he looked solid. What a great session to watch. Thank you.
Love u daddy
You gassed out big time 😂. But it’s all good where were you two?
I dig the transparency 👍🏾
I’ve been following you for a long time and watching you sparring with an UFC fighter and hitting him with your signature moves. OMG!!! You’ve really improved so much and I’m stealing those moves from you.
thank you brother!!
@@MMAShredded hi Jeff, can you do a video of your favorite shin guards and why you use MMA types while sparring with opponents using Muay Thai shin guards? I noticed you transferred from Combat Sports to Meister shin brand also, thanks !!
It is undeniable ! I notice the bodyshot combo " canelo move" 2:44 (i tri to learn it too 😉) with the swip on top, i loved it, on fighter as good and with a such high intensity.. i m impresssed!
Relax, he's only twice as big.
@@Andres9632 cept being bigger usually means slower and less coordinated, so it's even more impressive him being able to land setups and combos on a smaller quicker opponent... why did you bother posting?
I'm noticing how fast yet how controlled and technical you guys are! I love this kind of sparring!
thank you :)
once again. jeff is in there with a pro. doesnt throw a single head kick.
he spars with guys who come in for fitness and not fighting. jeff throws non stop head kicks. after he knocks them down he says it was accident and that guy escalated it so its his fault.
this dude literally bullies less experienced guys for content and plays sissy foot with pros. and you mma nerds who dont know shit about combat sports eat it up like hes doing something impressive.
hes gonna continue making this type of content if you dorks keep supporting it.
If anything, this proves Jeff is up there with some of the best in the world. What an amazing session, thank you so much!
This showed how much he has improved since 2020 man.
thank you brother! Alex was def taking it easy on em tho!
@@MMAShredded Jeff you're obviously a top tier striker
@@MaddenMagician technique wise Jeff is better than a lot of so called strikers in ufc
@@Philip-dy3wwit’s just a shame that the ufc bantamweight division is so god damn stacked rn. Or else I really wanna see Jeff in the UFC.
1:40 is such a cool combo!
thanks for watching!!
1:07 Carlos Condit Kick against GSP. Nice work
thanks for watching!
Maaaaaaan!!! My bro Jeff Chan with slickness and Alex with the pressure. Beautiful sparring session 🔥🥊🔥
thanks brother!
You man handled him mate
I think he woulda KO'd me with his left hook if it was 4 oz gloves!
Damn, that was a good fucking spar. You both got some really good work in.
Great seeing you train with some UFC guys, gives so much perspective how the org doesn't really matter in terms of skill levels. World class is still world class.
thank you brother!!
I agree with the first part of your comment, but keep in mind Jeff is a lot bigger than Perez.
@@mathiaskovendy7292 like, a lot. It's weird to see a ton of comments acting like this was even.
Being able to spar a UFC fighter must be such an experience
it was scary but fun!
Battle of the leg kicks. Omg lol nasty. He also had crazy body boxing combos. Props for doing as well as you did man.
thanks man I was scared!! haha
@@MMAShredded Those are the challenges you grow most from
Idk about everyone else but I find these sparring days more enjoyable and educational to watch than actual competitions. Nice to see those signature moves, that I’ve also been practicing, in action. Great stuff.
I can agree. in sparring you can let go and have fun, in a real fight you are hesitant because you are scared to get knocked out or take risks sometimes. you stick to your best moves instead of trying new things!
Jeff that trip and then the cross in the end was Cold!!!!!! Wow! You would finish Alex with 4 ounce gloves with that shot!
haha he woulda finished me first if it was 4 oz!
Jason, Alex didn't go hard on Jeff. Alex is clearly the better inside fighter as you could see, and still he didn't throw his best shots. Jeff, being the taller and better distance fighting style, could keep up with the guy, that's the most important thing. Alex is really good, he isn't the #5th ranked fighter in the world for nothing. Above all; he is a great sparring partner, I didn't catch him a single moment with hard sparring shots. That's what makes a great partner! Jeff told us too that he got tired after a while, while Alex clearly wasn't going all out. So no, he probably wouldn't finish him, but yes, Jeff is reaaaaally good!!
Jason you need to glove up and spar a few amateur fighters in your area just to get taught that the differences in each skill level really depict how a legit fight would turn out, i feel like a God sparring guys who have been training 1 to 8 years then i move to my Pro coach and he dances around me and i remember that there is levels to this. Respect to Jeff he has come so far and in my opinion is so close to UFC level but he is just below that level for now, hoping to see him there in a year or two cause i can see him learning so fast. 😎
2:04 Damn that was a good check, hurts my shin just looking at it.
Yeah painful to watch
thanks for watching!
@@MMAShredded No Jeff, THANK YOU for making amazing content.
By far one of the best spars you’ve posted!
thank you!
Hell ya baby 559 represent!!! I've been following you for a while now and to see you with my hometowns very own Alex Perez is icing on the cake !!! 🤙🏼
thank you brother!!
What an amazing opportunity to spar with a ranked UFC opponent! Hope you learned some new tricks and thank you for sharing as always! Hope to see you in the circle sometime soon again!
thanks brother I appreciate it!!
I'd love to see you fight again in One Championship! When are you fighting again?
unfortunately it’s still under negotiations but comment or reach out to ONE if you want to see me back in the cage soon 💪
@@MMAShredded Oh Jeff, I saw you on those reddit threads where even you're skeptical of ONE.
Completely understandable though.
alex perez, his fighting style is what i learn from him, im shorter than most of my sparring friends so i always have to pull out my guard like him
2:23 was such a satisfying sequence
thanks for watching!
Alex keeps his shit so tight! Those combos were beautiful, man looks like a problem for anybody in the ring
thanks for watching!
Very inspiring jeff. You're not afraid to go against to the highest level Opponents. I love your courage brother.
thanks bro!!
Very nice! I've said it several times, I love those trips and sweeps (way too underutilized in MMA) and how you know where the opponent is falling to so you can directly land a follow-up punch. Maybe you can do a commentary breakdown of this one and also tell how you felt in terms of skill comparison.
thanks man I will see what I can do :)
Looked like he was eating some big body shots from it though too
Dude... The conditioning is absolutely astonishing. I had a sparring with my friend. We're both amateurs. We ended up hurting our both legs. Was not training for more than 2 weeks now.
Pads bros wearem and kick much lighter same with punches, punch fast but just to tip tap each other and focus on technique, defense and how your using your gas tanks, don't go to War every session i'm a fan of hard spars once a month the rest all technical.
hahaha you guys will get use to it in time!
You shouldn’t be kicking as hard as you punch. Kicks hurt more
That was clean. Love it.
thank you!!
This might be the best high intensity sparring session I’ve seen
thanks for watching!
Bro your keeping up very well with him your on a new level bro you've improve alot best teacher and figther
thank you brother I appreciate it!
Solid sparring my brother, nice speed and technical. Love from sweden!
thanks bro!!
Looking at this, I think it's not far off to say that you have what it takes if you wanted to get into the UFC. You're able to hold your own and did not look out of place.
I am a wieghtclass above him though and he is primarily a boxer/wrestler. but thank you!!
you know the gym is good when it's blasting rolling stones in sparring
haha!!
That was fire!! Controlled and very good sparring. Greg’s hand speed and aggression seem to have given you problems but you matched it with implementing your own combos to offset his movement without blasting and getting out of control. Great job!!
thanks for watching!!
Wow. Kru Jeff!! You look amazing in there with Alex.
thank you!!
U going places man! Hella nice
thanks bro!
Look at you with those leg grabs man. Good stuff!
thanks for watching!
i love watching your videos as we have a very similar stand up style , i kinda imitate a mix of dom cruz an tj dillashaw an use alot of the same low kick set ups you do! these sparring vids are great fun to watch too
awesome man!
crazy seeing how much your skills have improved in the past couple years. good stuff man
thanks bro!
Craftiness and Crisp Technique off the charts
thanks for watching!
Good in the pocket exchanges nice mixing of everything!
Jeff you got hands bro.
Alex has good slip hand and body work counter.
thanks bro!!
Been following your content for some time. Of course the one day I don't show up to the gym you roll through 😩
lol damn!!!
2:48 was beautiful. Sweep and cross while he was falling down.
thanks!!
you really violated my mans at 2:48 lol
haha thanks for watching!
Unnnnnnf that punch off the sweep at 250 was cleannnnn
thanks for watching!!
Great stuff! Love to see you dissect this one down.
ill see what I can do!
Dude you really need to be in one of the major promotions you are very good.
thanks bro!
Oof, some bits looked a little spicy. Glad it simmered down lol. Really enjoyed that! Good stuff both of you
thanks for watching!!
My dude your looking Sharp..it almost looked like you were taking it easy on Alex.
thanks bro!! im sure he was taking it ez on me!! I am a weight class above him too
Superb video! Keep it up =) Cheers from Sweden :)
thank you!!
Damn Jeff you've improve so much I've been watching for about 5 years lol thanks for all the Content man you gotta do another fighting like videos you use to make those were really cool
thanks bro I appreciate it!!
Really awesome work!
thank you!!
Good sparing match! I’ve seen you put hard sparing on videos before but was good hard to the body sparing imo, Good Job!
thank you!
Seeing Jeff spar UFC fighters really shows how much hes grown now, we are proud of you Jeffy boy!!!
thank you brother!!
This video looks fast forwarded, both moving fast asl
Awesome Video Bro!
thanks gyro!
Excellent work gents, I love this sport so much
thank you!
You're an inspiration man keep it up!
thanks bro!
this video (and some similar ones of yours) should be required viewing to teach people how to spar with intensity, but technically and with little power. Excellent!
thank you!!!
Great video ur the best youtuber
thank you brother!
I wish you're in the ufc, I'd be your big supporter
thanks man
0:53 that leg catch and sweeping leg was awesome
thanks!
Great sparring! Looks fun
thank you!
I think having such a public channel contributes to you having humility, but honestly I think you have what it takes to be world champion.
You're selling yourself and your prime a little short.
Go on a social media hiatus and get another fight again.
You'll always have this channel and fanbase that you can come back to when it's all said and done.
Good luck!!
thanks bro! fighting has always been a bonus/opporunity for me. I enjoy being a martial artist and sharing my knowledge.
Fun sparring session I really loved your striking style and Alex is a beast also!
thank you bro!
@@MMAShredded no problem man. I'm learning a lot just by watching you spar.
You should be in the UFC.......nice work
thanks man!
2:49 very nice
thank you!
Great flow sparring. This was like a movie fight.
thank you!!
@@MMAShredded Alex has a great ability to close distance, but you knew when to leg kick when he had too much weight on his front foot when he was boxing.
Hehe new moves to learn nice sparring sir Jeff well controlled hehe
thanks bro!!
Bro After this sparring, you realize the high level of your striking. congratulation ❤️🥊🥋
thank you bro!!
Amazing exchanges
thanks for watching!
High level practitioners at work wow!!!
thank you!!
This is dope. 🔥
thanks!!
I think you should be in the ufc dude I know you said you gased but u kept up with him really well
thank you bro!
nice!
high level results 🥊
thanks for watching!
Didn't realize how long Jeff's legs actually are. 😆 Beautiful session! That one 2:47 sweep was insane mastery. Absolutely perfect execution.
haha thanks!!
Scorsese's favourite track playing in the background 👌
:)
Your combinations are world class. You got the better of Alex. He was dangerous on the inside early on but you controlled him with the right cross and low kicks from range. Not to forget you tripped him Many times. Btw when are you fighting next? Love your videos!
thanks man! I am a weight class above him and prob even heavier from all the eating on vacation, plus he was going easy on me.
As for fighting, stuck in negotiations unfortunately !
Very nice rounds men, very nice.
thank you!
I know you would rather coach than fight but you definitely are champ material Jeff if you ever did decide you wanted to chase a belt
thanks for the support brother!
This is a freaking great skilled and contrôles sparring sesh. My kind of sparring 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
:)
Do you like to kick the arms a lot? Does it set up more of your offense?
it drains their punching power! its a common strategy in Muay Thai!
@@MMAShredded Samkor (also known as Bat Man) did it against a heavy hitting combination puncher by using his left leg to bludgeon the arms so the other guy couldn't pick his arms up.
Having the shin slammed into your arms saps your punching power and ability to keep your hands up.
THE. CONTROL.
cheers! :)
I really respect Perez. Bravo to both .
I am a hugeeee fan of him!
@@MMAShredded you did Damn well ! But being small I relate much to him…;)
Super intense but really technical. Switched on from the get go
cheers!!
Nice job Jeff your a world class fighter
thanks for your support!
Keep up the great work
thanks man!
Damn chan I think you actually got him !
he went ez on me :)
Dudes tough. From my experience leg setups to leg kicks are one of the biggest annoyances. His thighs gonna feel sore tomorrow 😩
haha true!
0:36 Guy in the back got hit in slow motion by a train
Would really love to see you fight again
unfortunately stuck in negotiations :/
@0:27mins - that slip was slick!
thanks for watching!
He has a really nice right to the body.
cheers!
Good work. Perez was getting a lil' frustrated. I'm surprised they let you film this.
I was surprised too haha
Awesome
thanks!
Wooo... that one tough jeff!
was scary :P
damn you 're as fast as Alex! I'm really jaleous
haha nah he faster!!
You are doing great! The big difference I noticed was just the micro movements you both did in between shots: he get his body tight and moved it all together while everything was a bit looser for you and moving a lot more. I feel like that difference contributed to you gassing out before him since you were moving in so many different parts, because let's face it, you have great conditioning.
cheers :)
very cool! will you be doing commentary on this?
I haven't decided yet!! gotta ask Alex if he is okay with me breaking down his moves
Nice
thanks man!
@@MMAShredded you were pretty competitive against a really high level guy
Still looking forward to your next one championship fight
Subscribed!
thank you!!
@@MMAShreddedit was very enjoyable to watch. 2:48 was super impressive and a technique not utilised enough in MMA.
He could’ve done a smaller bigger fighter explanation bc he reacted well to the jab and had great ways to counter your height but ur long legs and jab also kept him on the outside
