User error mixed with an old design. When pressure washing your engine bay you need to do it from a distance along with being careful of where you’re spraying, don’t drench electrical components in water, and blow off any water leftover with a air hose so you don’t have water in anything when you go to start your engine.

    I would first do this:
For under hood, use carpet cleaner foam, let sit for 5 minutes or less, then brush with soft brush, then vaccuum or dry with white terry cloth. You want to start there so that you care for that first, then engine compartment.
Do no work on a hot engine, but allow it to be warm enough to work with your cleaner, but not evaporate it.
Use either Computer Duster can spray to blow away dust and dirt first. Then use detailing brushes to brush dirt away further. You can also use an actual duster to get between areas.
After dusting, the liquid you use:
🚱Chemical guys waterless car wash or
🚱Rain X waterless carwash with microfiber towels. There are specialty towels for it!
🚱all purpose or engine cleaning solution should also be either mixed with purple power or Super Clean for a decreaser. Leave it for about a minute or two, then wipe down.
Do the wipe downs about 2 to 4 times until its truly clean. Then go over it with small, controlled amount of graphite coating over all plastic. Spotcheck, then begin.
NOTE: When it comes to oil. It is best to decrease first, then proceed to wash because grease shouldnt be smeared all over the place.
Remember that you can remove the battery to clean it.

    At the start open hood
With engine cold spray tire cleaner spray can foaming type. On to engine and entire engine compartment. Close hood. Detail rest of car on clean garage. Hours later wipe up excess with clean or semi-clean rags. Use some type of tire cleaner with a protectint in it not necessarily a tire shine. Each time it gets a little easier. Works for me. Doesn't leave that oil and grease film.

I imagine i could also use a proper de reaser and special engine bay soap along with the APC. Buying color coded brushes used only for the EB would help really get in between areas and a PH balanced or distilled water or a spray pump (gardening or such) can spray soap down. Then blow dry areas and finalize it with grafite (spelled wrong) to bring all rubber and plastics back to life!
    What do you think?

How do you clean your engine bay? Well you simply clean your engine bay..

    @sjay149 Рік тому

You could just wipe the engine bay down twice a month, when you wax the car.

Definitely not the easiest way! More like the slowest & hardest way.

This in response to the people that are scared/hesitant to use any kind of water on their engine bay. There's always a method for everyone. As long as you get the job done. We have a $500 engine cleaning job coming in next week. No water with that one either but a lot of polishing
