Part of me wants to be selfish & hope your channel stays small. I love your videos! While some are busy hawking for a sponsor, you stay true to your base. Bless you for that!
I was always called the "black sheep" of the family & your channel name resonated with me. Your content keeps me coming back for more. I am going for back surgery, I can't wait to finish & start projects I have here again. As long as it isn't the big C, I am hoping it is soon.
Ohh. I would love to see kitchen cabinets refinished!
I also love your videos! Thank you for all of your tips, tricks and information! I can’t thank you enough!! You’re amazing Shannon!
Love this color combination! Great job!
As someone with a lot of red toned wood furniture, I so appreciate learning how to tone down the redness! Thank you!
Yes! I just came across this and have 2 tables that have such a deep red tone wood.
I love that too and tech! I wished I saw this video a week ago when I was finishing a table top! Thank You! I'm trying this on my next piece!
Love this color combo!!❤️
Excellent job. Thanks for sharing your hints throughout the project.
I love the finish of the top, so pretty!

Very nice! I have some older mahogany furniture that really needs to be refinished and I rather like what you did with this. Thank you for the idea.
Wow.....beautiful work looks so good!! I love, love your channel!! Thanks for educating us and making up believe these projects are doable and we can take them on!! 😊😁🙌🏽👍🏾
I didn't know about the White stain to take the red color from the dresser. I started flipping furniture I found it to be relaxing and enjoyable. Taking notes😊
I love the finishing work♥️
This piece looks beautiful; you did a great job. I don’t know if I have the confidence to try such a project but I would really like to. Your video is very helpful and informative. Thanks for sharing you knowledge. Love this project.
Beautiful finish on the top! I might try this for the entire piece...
Hi Shannon, I have seen so many DIY videos from other designers and I always go back to you. I love how you explain everything and make it easy even for beginners.

I've just started watching your videos and I think you do great work, I'm getting ready to start my first piece a pair of dresser's and ill be doing your paint brush and roll of technique ,thanks for all the info
Beautiful!
Thank you! You just helped me decide what t want to do with a chest dresser I picked up from Goodwill for $15.. can’t wait! Thank you and Happy Holidays ❤️ Excellent Videos. So informative.
Great tutorial! Looking forward to more. 😃
Also- I’m looking for the supply list and do not see it. I am looking at this in my phone, which may be the reason I can’t see it but just double checking to make sure I am not missing something. Thanks again for the great tutorial.
Beautiful job 💜
Love all your videos Shannon; I like your style, your voice is so calming: I’ve learned a lot from you. I’m interested in learning about painting with regular latex paints, I’d love to paint without having to top coat or wax.
Good luck with that. Anything not top coated or waxed most likely will not hold up in the end. Fine if you're keeping it, bad if you're selling.
You would have to use an enamel or a urethane enamel furniture paint and allow it at least one week to cure before putting into service.
A lot of furniture flippers are selling too soon after painting. The buyer gets it home to find the paint is too soft, or the drawers are sticking.
There is only one fix for this. Use the highest quality paint available. Do not wax for at least 72 hours, or a week. Follow manufacturer directions!
Love your techniques
This looks amazing
Love the white wash and glaze antique stain I never saw this thanks for showing me
Such a good combo 🙌!
Love this easy to do top! Thanks!
Glad you like it!!
I love this piece
That looks sooo pretty
Thanks for your videos. I love it I just start my first piece!
I'm going to buy the products right now; this will be my project today. I bought a old dresser and I'm going to transform it.
This is gorgeous 😍
I have both solid cherry and solid maple furniture in my house that I'm hoping to update and get rid of the red (cherry) and orange (maple) tones that dominate! This video has inspired me! Now I need one for all my orange maple furniture! PLEASE!!!😊
This is exactly how I want to do my dresses!
Awesome! I love how it looks!
Really like your channel and how you restore furniture giving it a new life. Would live to see blending popular stain colors. The white wash technique is perfect. Thanks
Thanks! That's a great idea!
Absolutely stunning ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you!
Learning so much from you! Little things like pointing out that the drips on the edge can be left alone til the end - in order to have perfect strokes from edge to edge, are super super helpful! Things take me so long bc I typically fix it, then I have to wait for it to dry, sand it and try it again bc any marks from stopping and starting really bother me! (Then again, who isn’t bothered by that?! Lol). So thank you for pointing those things out as you go!
✨Let me know in the comments what videos you guys would like to see in the future ✨
Hi dear! I LOVE your projects!
I’m trying to get all materials online but having hard time to find them. Any advise?
I’m not a fan of white or blonde painted wood, but this look’s phenomenal.. you did an amazing job. I will use some of your tips when refinishing my pieces.
What a lovely piece hello from South Ayrshire Scotland
Greetings! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful makeover. I never knew about using white wash first. I'm definitely going to be giving that a try. I just recently found you and so glad I did. I'm always glad to find someone who uses readily available and less expensive products. My newest venture is learning to make signs with stencils.
That's awesome, Sarah! I love easy to find products because I am usually shopping last minute haha!
Can you use chalk paint watered for the white wash instead of buying the can of Minwax? Also, usually they recommend sealing the white wash before adding glaze. I didn't see you do that step or did you not do that? Did you glaze right over the white wash?
Hi! I think I’m going to try to do the top finish on an old wood table I have that I’m going to use as our dining room table. Going for the modern farmhouse look and I think it’ll be really nice! I’d love to see you do that color on a regular, painted interior door that’s not solid wood. That might be my next project so I’m looking for ideas. Thanks!!
🤩🤩👌👌👍👍💯👏👏👏👏wow gran cambio, felicidades, saludos desde Costa Rica,Centroamérica.
I wish i had seen your video sooner! I just applied this stain and i absolutely hated how it looked and now i know why because i have to white wash it first ahhhhhh.
Gosh i love it
I love your video's each and every one. I am getting ready to create the "wood look" on my floors. Could you do a video on painting hardwood floors? I would love to see and learn as much as I can. I painted my dining room floors a light gray which is really too light but I realize this is just the first layer :)
I love the stained tops, the dresser is too yellows for me, but the finish is gorgeous! I’m going to do this to a table that the side are hinged and fold down. Will be painting the legs black and then the top light stain like yours. I also have 2 nightstands in a guest room I want to paint the body grey and antique glaze the body, but stain the top like yours but a touch darker. I don’t like relishing furniture in humid heat weather like we have right now in the summer in North Carolina. I always take drawers out, I’m a bit messy, lol
This is so pretty ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Bernadine!
I would love to see a countertop. Love your channel.
Thank you 🥰
I would like a video talking and demonstrating the pros and cons between chalk and paint. You touched on it by using chalk as a primer.
I’m new to your page and love your work. I’m attempting to repaint a buffet. So nervous! Especially since I’ve found out it’s not real wood ☹️
Love all your work and your explanations are wonderful...I'm gonna try to restore my bedroom set whichbis identical to what you are doing here. But I'm looking for tops of dressers to have a grey wood look so any paint or stain colors to use would be accepted greatly....Thank you so much for all the information..hugs
Beautiful thank you
Hi Shannon - love your channel. Could you a DIY Minka vase. I would love to see your take on that please. Love your channel, so inspirational 💕
Hi! What’s a minka vase?
Beautiful! Thanks for the “hack” about using the white wash stain first. I love that farmhouse finish and never knew how it was achieved!
You are welcome! Hope you try it soon! 💕
I loved how this turned out! I am going to try this on my dining room table using the same stains. If you did this on a table what color of chairs would you choose? I'm thinking of stained black but not sure if that would be too much of a contrast.
You are a greàt instructor.
Always prime before painting. I like to use a sprayer .
Wow i love this piece! Thanks for the tips for eliminating the red tones in the wood! I’m definitely going to try that! Just one question… for the clear top coat… when i apply mine with a brush i get nasty streaks. How do you prevent that from happening with he brush?
Just been given very dark mahogany dresser and wonder where to start repairing and refinishing
Great work. I love love the top. So elegant. And the tip about using the white wash. Can I use a home made wash by adding water to white paint?. Thanks for your tips.
I'm hoping you could tell me about being able to use the process in this video with a dresser top that is stripped and light in color but a small area was over sanded and went through veneer. It is along an edge joining a side. thank you!!! love your work
Lol. NM. You answered my question.
Beautiful result! I love the color and depth of the wash with the stain!
If I wanted the same tone but a lighter result, what do you recommend ? 2 coats of white, lighter stain, add white wax or something else?
Thanks
Love your videos
Hi thanks for all your hard work and passion. I would like to see if you can help me to figure out what i should use for my top furniture. I like rustic finishings. Should i use this Valspar glase or should i use Minx wax finishing wax dark brown color to achieve a real wood finish what do you think. Please let me know your thoughts.
Love this one!! 😍 I’m trying to figure out how to do this on an ugly ikea bookshelf we have that my fiancé thinks we shouldn’t get rid on lol.
Check out my faux wood pottery barn videos fir painting laminate
Great makeover. I was looking for a tutorial on how to make dark redwood furniture lighter. Love what you did with the top. Amazing color! Question: why did you choose not to sand the drawers?
Thanks! :)
Love this! I want to try this white wash and glaze on my kitchen table. Could you put oil based poly on top or do you think it would turn the white washing an off color? I just haven't mastered the water based poly without streaks. Thanks
Have you ever had trouble using Valspar glaze? I used Bemjamin Moore Advance and the Valpare antiquing glaze just wouldn't stick. It was supposed to dry in 24 hours but after 2 days the glaze lifted when I tried applying another coat.
Hi,will this technic of white washing work with yellow color wood? Great work. Love the stain color, but just the way you did it. Thanks.
I REALLY appreciate your beginner friendly tips. Some of us are on a tight budget and can't afford all the fancy paints and gadgets. I would love to know how to put new hardware and place it on drawers when it's not the same width as the old hardware you took off. I bought an inexpensive jig and for the life of me couldn't figure out how to use it. There doesn't seem to be much information from furniture flippers on this sort of conumdrum, so any help on this would be SO appreciated! Is there a general guidelines on how far apart handles are supposed to be on a two handled drawer? thank you!
Hi Shannon...LOVE how you explain it. I want to do my dresser...top dark and bottom/drawers lighter. What colors did you use and what brand chalk paint.
Nice
Hi Shannon thanks so much for this video. I am almost finished this same project! Thank you SO much for your tips. Does the whitewash stain really need to dry for 24 hours??? I am so impatient
Looks great. Just need to improve your measuring skills so the handles don't look lopsided and you can get them perfectly flush in the center. If you're not good at measuring you can also use a drawer handle template that you just hang from the top of the draw and it gives you all the different millimeter size options and height options and you just poke your marker through the tiny holes where you want the handles. Makes them all perfectly centered in the same exact spot.
Hi love this video I just have a question have you ever done anything with particleboard I have a dresser that I want to paint over I already sanded it all down and I just want to know what kind of primer you would suggest to use and what kind of paint I also want to do the top like you did in this video where you just kind of put a stain on it I haven’t decided on a color yet but the dresser is going to be white any suggestions would be deeply appreciated! I am actually doing other pieces also it’s a whole set I just don’t want to go out and buy a whole new bedroom set because I can’t afford real wood right now and we might be moving in the near future but this is such a mess this dresser it had some kind of faux marble paper over it. The dresser is pretty old but still pretty good shape it’s just the outside that looks bad the paper actually peeled off so that’s why I’m sanding everything down and want to paint it white with a nice stained top if I can do it
really pretty I just found an solid oak table and I want it grayish white. Tryi g to learn how to do that. I have in the past stained wood and fishes with a top coAT But this would be different. Thank you
