Hi, well as for my experience I used the first Gen LG all throughout the pandemic as a first responder and I did not get infected. Working every single day, so I will sure buy this one for sure!!!!
I’ve been using it for about 2 months now. It can be very sweaty & almost feels like it’s sliding if not placed just right. On the plus side the air is fresh. The outside air has to be extremely strong to smell it. For example walking through a perfume section of a department store or past a smelly truck using diesel or sometimes smokers. But if you go somewhere & take down the mask to take a sip of a drink you’ll be surprised of the scents or smell if the air. Edit: slides only if you have a lot of sunscreen. So I only add the sunscreen to the upper part of my face. I’ll take it a step a further & say if the face is overly moisturized. The sunscreen I use doubles as a moisturizer.
@@Steve211Ucdhihifvshi that's not true at all. Particles and molecules aren't the same thing. Bioaerosols are particles. Particulate only filtration such as HEPA level captures particles, but smells are mainly caused by molecules (vapors/glasses), you need something like carbon to absorb certain smelly molecules. You should be able to smell stuff with particulate only filtration.
Love the idea of this, wondering if it's easier to breathe thorough this than an ffp3/n99. I find using a surgical mask over a valved ffp3 is much easier to breathe with and protects others
Does this exhaust air through the bottom vent? Not sure how effective the inner filter is at blocking exhaled particles. Is there a option to 3D print a plug to force the exhaled air back through the hepa filters?
I use the EasyFlow to fan my face or bring clean cool air inside mu mask but still need something cooler and stronger. How is the air strength of this LH PuriCare ?
These types of active masks should be developed so we can have them ready when a new more dangerous pandemic would come. The present passive masks are uncomfortable and even then too leaky.
No because HEPA filtration is particulate only. Smells are mainly due to molecules. You'll need something like carbon to absorb certain molecules and it needs to be replaced more often than the particulate filters.
I'm vaccinated but maybe I would wear this because I can still be affected by covid also I like clean air to breathe and I wear glasses so it's nice to not get them foggy
Way too expensive and there's no guarantee that you will be able to buy the replacement pads in a year or two. Great idea, in theory, but I would be cautious of this!
@@samjam6989 Everything we use nowadays are mostly made in China. There are bad apples everywhere, you just have to weed out the bad sellers/manufactures which I can understand can be quite difficult. Good luck shopping :) !
The small white piece that was added to the middle is an exhalation filter. Nearly everyone's mask doesn't filter exhalations that well due to the material and/or leakage from the sides. This probably does a better job compared to what the vast majority of people are wearing.
Thing is, masks are great and all, But its only 95% of the particles that are filtered. You only need a tiny bit of anything, especially covid for it to get you. If people want something like this you can just get a half face respirator with n100 filters. for no where near the ripoff lg are charging for this.
Filtration of bioaerosols at a reg breathing ≠ filtration of the hardest to filter particles at a high breathing rate (NIOSH and similar testing). The seal is what matters at the 95+ rating point. So fit testing is key. Elastomerics that pass a user seal check are a better option if fit testing isn't an option, but a fit test passing 95 rated respirator is a better idea than an elastomeric that doesn't undergo fit testing because there can still be leakage with passing a user seal check. HEPA and the 100 level NIOSH rating are exactly the same. They filter 99.97% of the hardest to filter particle size (.3 microns).
HEPA 13 filters a lot better than FFP2 and FFP3. The only reason the fine print may say it "does not protect from Corona virus" is because it's not able to filter the pure virus from the air. However all masks FFP2 and better can filter the *droplets* that commonly carry viruses (from people breathing out etc.). The disclaimer is only so that people aren't using it inside labs where there may actually be a concentration of the pure virus in the air itself.
Impressive Bane impression! 👏👏👏💯

If you can smell something as basic as diesel exhaust or perfume. Its not going to be effective against covid btw.
@@Steve211Ucdhihifvshi You can still smell odors when wearing N95s and KN95s, ones that are actually FDA registered.
@@Steve211Ucdhihifvshi So you're saying viruses are gases?

Could you put H14 HEPA filters in it if you wanted to?
When are these actually going to be sold on an exponential level?
Best mask I have ever owned. Reminds me of walking with a CPAP machine strapped to my face.

For something much more dangerous than Covid I'd take no chances and use a full face mask like the 3M 6800.
@magicmulder The slight problem with that is if you're wearing glasses like me then yer fked
does LG sells extra hepa filter too?

Yes about 600 plus

great review , thanks
Does it have airconditioning?
I like it but idk if this will be acceptable to use in public. Is it still wearable with face shield?
Yes po, I saw it in a unbox ph review video on the mask

Years? You are supposed to replace every 30 days for the HEPA filters, and daily for the inner cover.
@@williamclw duh, but will you be able to BUY new ones in a few years
Like that LG purifier, but expensive.Better we'll settle for the ordinary face mask 😷😷😷
Agreed! Just looked and was shocked by the price.
Just wait for a few months and we'll get our hands on Chinese-built ones which should be way more cheaper.
Chinese ones are crap though

Nice try😅. BTW does exhaled breathe being filtered? Other is a selfish mask if the user is infected an expelling viruses when breathing out.😏
