Hubby and I have been married 48 years....THAT's old!!!! LOL. we were 20 and 23 then. Raised our kids....have 8 lively grandkids. 4 years ago we moved cross country from Northern Calif to Minnesota. From 1/2 acre to 4 acres. Love that we have chickens again, a pig once in a while. The grands love to be here and they are all within 4 miles of us. Bless you all! Adorable :) We had our wedding in the backyard of our first farm, married by our friend & music by another friend, potluck our friends threw together. I did no work whatsoever... & it was the best! More folks should do this kind of wedding and save themselves a lot of money and stress. Happy Anniversary & yes you're over the hard years of marriage - the first 5 yrs.
It is beyond adorable that most of the pictures that he'd cued up were pictures of just her.
My husband passed away unexpectedly a month ago today. Trust me when I say, all marriages are both great and hard.Sometimes at the same time. :D

Happy anniversary. My wife's wedding dress was found accidentally. We were shopping second hand store in our area, found wedding dress on wall, it fit her perfectly. Had to fix some lace that had been stepped on. It was only $75. I knew I loved her before that. But then I knew she didn't like to spend a lot of money too. Lol

My brother did cookies at their wedding. One of the close friends owns a cookie shop (small business) and they had those brought in instead of cake and it was excellent =] I love when people put little twists on their weddings!

Loved the "old" pictures. My wife and I have been married 54 years and hope we have many more together. I think way too much money is spent on weddings today. If your family are millionaires, fine but I see too many middle class couples spend tens of thousands of dollars when the money could have gone a long way toward starting their lives together...buying a home, paying down debt, etc. Love doesn't care the cost!

So awesome. We had a BBQ for our reception. It was held at our church campground. So relaxing. Different ones brought their instruments plus we had a fishing derby. 😆

Every year when my parents anniversary comes around, my dad tells the same joke. “We’ve been happily married for 29 years. 29 out of 31 ain’t bad”... marriages have rough patches and you grow through it to have more happy years.
It was so great to see the pictures of you guys and watching your reactions. We just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary about 2 weeks ago, 10 down and a lifetime to go! So happy for you Art and Bri.

Awww. How sweet. Happy Anniversary!! My daughter isn't overly a fan of cake either, so at her wedding I made 12 cheesecakes and my husband's Amish sisters made 21 pies of 3 varieties. My daughter's fondest memory of her Amish grandpa was of all of the root beer floats they shared, so we also had a root beer float bar. As the appetizers were being served, my nephew snuck pie. The guests saw this and everyone made a bee line for the desserts. The wedding planner was in a panic. I told her that this is a celebration...in honor of Grandpa Yoder...we'll "start with the good stuff"! It has been one of the most memorable part of that day!

When my parents married, my dad's brother was an amateur photographer. He and 2 of his friends took the wedding pics. One of the cameras broke, another forgot to put film in the camera, and mom couldn't remember the problem with the 3rd camera. So my parents got no wedding pics.
We just passed 26 years. Perfect date, BBQ & a nap!

Love it!! My husband and I decided to get married and did it three weeks later. It was a byobcp- bring your own beverage, chair, pot... we did gamblers/hotdogs- my Mothe fin love did the pasta and potato salads, we provided water/soda. My bff is a wedding officiant, another close friend a photographer- we got dollar tree decorations and got married in our horse pasture ❤. So unstressful!!

Truck rental companies pull that all the time because they do not want to drive the truck to you AND to get the further location some rental on their books.

My husband and I eloped without anyone knowing. We lost our wedding film roll crawling thru the Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves in New Hampshire. This past September made 34 years of not so good and very good moments. I strongly believe that being married is a full time job all itself then you add house, kids, etc.. Happy Anniversary.

When we moved from NC to VA we loaded up our uHaul and went to the place to get the trailer hooked up to tow the car and a switch was broken. UHaul wouldn’t let the dealer fix it instead paid movers to come move everything from one truck to another with temps close to 100 and rain! 🤦♀️ Instead of getting to VA at 3 pm we got there at almost midnight!
We just had our 37th anniversary and for us it gets better every year. Happy anniversary, may you be blessed with many years ahead!

So many things about your wedding are the same as ours : our paid for ‘photographer’ was horrible and my mother-in-law paid for a caterer to provide meat and family brought side dishes. We were 18. It’s been 30 years and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
